Chapter 103: Chapter 103 We Want Kingsley

Kingsley stood near the hospital bed, arms crossed, his eyes were full of concern. Jasmine sat up slowly, holding the baby in her arms. Her face was pale while he looked at her with gentle eyes.

"Come stay with me," Kingsley said. "I’ll keep you safe. I’ve already clean your room and arranged it just the way you liked it. You won’t have to lift a finger."

Jasmine shook her head. "No, Kingsley. I want to go to my parents’ house. My mom is already waiting, she knows how to take care of newborns. And I’ll be more comfortable there."

Kingsley looked disappointed. "It’s not about comfort, It’s about safety. Things are dangerous now... You saw what happened. I can protect you better in my place."

Jasmine didn’t meet his eyes. "I know you can protect me but I just gave birth, I need my mother. I need to be around her."

Just then, the door opened. Mrs. Trevor walked in, her hair tied up in a bun. "She’s right," her mother said firmly. "She’ll be in better hands with me right now. I’ve done this before, also, she needs warmth and routine. You have enough on your plate, Kingsley."

Kingsley sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Alright," he said. "But I’m sending men with you. No arguments."

Before anyone could speak, Kingsley’s phone beeped. He pulled it out quickly, scanned the message, and his eyes narrowed.

"Damn it," he muttered.

"What is it?" Jasmine asked.

"One of my men just sent me something. Might be a lead on the Elite Fraternity’s base." He looked at her, his face had turned serious again. "I have to check it out. But I’ll send escorts with you."

Jasmine nodded quietly. Kingsley paused, a look of hesitation crossed his face before he muttered under his breath "fuck this."

He walked towards Jasmine and planted a wet kiss on her cheek, startling her. Her eyes widened in shock. He just grinned and said "I’ll come over to your parent’s house later." With that, he stormed off.

About an hour later, Jasmine was discharged. The baby was dressed in a tiny pink onesie, sleeping in her grandmother’s arms. Nicole joined them at the hospital entrance, yawning as she adjusted her coat.

"I’m here now. Already dropped Hailey at school and took a leave from work. Don’t worry," Nicole said. "I’ll ride with you all the way to the mansion. I’m not letting you go alone."

Jasmine smiled faintly. "Thanks."

Kingsley’s men were already outside, ready. Three black SUVs. One for Jasmine, Nicole, and her mother. The others were filled with bodyguards.

Kingsley gave instructions to his men before heading off in a separate vehicle. "Don’t lose sight of them no matter what."

The convoy drove out of the hospital compound. Nicole sat in the front passenger seat, texting on her phone. Jasmine sat behind her, next to her mother who cradled the sleeping baby.

Nicole turned around. "So how does it feel?" she asked with a smile. "Being a mom."

Jasmine laughed softly. "Scary...Beautiful. I don’t know. My brain hasn’t caught up."

"She looks just like you," Nicole said. "But with Kingsley’s serious forehead."

Jasmine rolled her eyes. "Don’t start."

They were halfway to the Trevor mansion. The road was getting quieter and for some reasons—The air felt different.

The driver squinted. "Something’s wrong," he muttered.

Before he could say more, several black vans came out of nowhere, speeding from both sides. Kingsley’s men jumped out from the trailing vehicles, as they drew their guns out.

Then gunshots exploded.

Screams filled the air. Bullets cracked windows and some hit both parties. The driver lowered his head and shouted, "Get down!"

Nicole screamed and dropped to the floor. Jasmine bent low, shielding her head. Her mother screamed and held the baby tightly, trying to protect her with her own body.

One of the bodyguards shouted into his earpiece, "We’re under attack! Multiple cars—ambush!"

Another window shattered and the driver was hit. He slumped forward, blood spilling across the dashboard.

Nicole turned pale as smoke filled everywhere. Then someone pulled open the back door,Jasmine shuddered as two masked men grabbed Jasmine and Nicole. Another man yanked the baby from her grandmother’s arms.

"No! Please!" Mrs. Trevor cried, trying to hold on. But she was pushed to the side, her hands trembling, tears streaming down her face.

Jasmine fought back, screaming. "My baby! Don’t hurt her!"

They slapped tape over her mouth. Nicole was dragged out next, but she was kicking wildly.

The attackers shoved them into the back of their van. One man carried the baby. She was crying loudly now.

Behind them, Kingsley’s men lay scattered. Most of them were shot while some were dead.

The kidnappers drove off fast, their tires screeching. The car sped through the city.

Jasmine and Nicole were in the back of the van. Their hands were tied, and their mouths were taped, restraining them from talking. The baby was still crying, held by one of the masked men in the front seat.

Jasmine’s eyes were red, hot tears streamed down her face. She tried to speak but the tape made her voice muffled. Nicole was shaking, her whole body was stiff with fear.

The van took several sharp turns and the road became bumpier the more they spent on the road. It felt like they were moving out of town.

One of the men looked back and glared at them. "Quiet," he said coldly. "You cry, you suffer."

The man holding the baby looked annoyed because the baby wouldn’t stop crying but he didn’t hurt her.

Jasmine’s heart broke every second she heard her child cry and couldn’t do anything. Nicole gave her a sideways glance, her face was terribly pale and tense.

After nearly an hour, they stopped in front of a large and deserted warehouse.

The place was surrounded by woods, there was no house in sight nor main roads.

The back doors swung open. "Out," a man barked.

They dragged Jasmine and Nicole out of the van. The baby was handed over to another man who looked much more younger. Jasmine could barely walk but she forced her legs to move. Nicole stumbled and fell once. They pushed her up roughly.

Inside the warehouse was cold and dark, boxes were stacked in the corners. The place smelled of oil and rust.

They were taken to a small room at the back and the men tied them to chairs, side by side. The baby was in a small crib that looked like it had been placed there earlier—they had planned to kidnap the baby all along. She kept crying until the young man rocked her.

One of the men stepped forward, took off his mask, revealing a long scar across his cheek and eyes.

"My name is Cairo," he said. "You two are very important guests. And this little one... she’s the key."

Jasmine looked up. Her eyes burning with tears.

"What do you want?" Nicole snapped, her voice trembling.

Cairo smiled. "Kingsley. We want him and you are going to help us get him."

"He’ll find us," Nicole said. "He won’t stop."

"I’m counting on that," Cairo replied. He looked at the baby. "And when he comes, we’ll be ready."

Jasmine shook her head. "Don’t hurt her... please."

Cairo walked over to the crib. He looked down at the baby but didn’t touch her. "I don’t hurt children," he said softly. "But I will use them."
