Chapter 104 Leaving Scars
Chapter 104: Chapter 104 Leaving Scars
Kingsley was pacing the room like a caged mad man. His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides. The air was thick with tension. His men were running back and forth, shouting into phones, trying to track the van, gather any bit of information.
Earlier, the few men who survived the ordeal had called him that they were ambushed on their way to Trevor’s mansion. And Jasmine,Nicole and his infant baby were kidnapped. For a moment, he thought his world stopped and everything stopped moving.
He couldn’t pick himself up again. A raw sense of anger and fear clouded him. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that the people were Elite members. They all seemed to be everywhere, lurking in the shadows, looking for every chance to hurt Jasmine.
Raymond stood in the corner, his shoulders were tense. His eyes were red and swollen from crying. He had just come back from Hailey’s school. Since Nicole was taken, he had to pick her up and drop her off at the Trevor’s mansion with Mr and Mrs Trevor who were guarded by security men.
All he could think about was Nicole, and it showed in his trembling hands and the way his chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths.
Kingsley stopped pacing and walked over to him. His voice was low but firm as he placed a hand on Raymond’s back. "We will find them," Kingsley said, trying to sound sure for both of their sakes.
Raymond swallowed hard, trying to hold back more tears. His voice cracked, his resolve was long gone. "I’m scared, Kingsley. Nicole... she might act brave but she’s probably very scared right now.."
Kingsley looked him straight in the eyes. "No one’s going to lose anyone. Not on my watch."
Raymond nodded, but a tear escaped down his cheek. He wiped it away roughly with his sleeve.
The noise in the room continued—the ringing phones, frantic voices, and urgent footsteps. Then, suddenly, Kingsley’s phone beeped, indicating an incoming call.
He glanced at the screen and saw that the call was from an Unknown Number.
Kingsley frowned, his heart dropped to his stomach—he didn’t need a soothsayer to tell him it was the people calling, but he answered without hesitation.
A cold, mocking voice filled his ear.
"Kingsley Fucking Elm..." The deep voice ran through. Kingsley frowned.
"Who’s this??" Kingsley bite out,his eyes turned dark.
"Firstly, I want to express that I like that Jasmine is pretty," the man said, his voice was slow and cruel. "Would love to leave a scar on her face, by the way."
Kingsley’s breath caught. He tightened his grip on the phone. "Listen to me carefully. Don’t hurt Jasmine, Nicole, or the baby. You hear me?"
The voice chuckled darkly. "Of course, I won’t hurt the ladies. But your crying baby? She’s disturbing me. I’d love to get rid of her."
Kingsley’s face drained of color. His hands shook slightly. His child was barely four days old.
"Who the hell is this?" Kingsley demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.
The man’s tone changed—he turned even more cold, serious and dangerous. "My Name’s Riley Drake. You probably know me by now since you’ve been busy digging for information about me.." he chuckled slowly but there was no humor in it. "... I have unfinished business with you, Kingsley."
Kingsley’s eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"
The voice smirked. "I’m sending you a location. If you come with reinforcements... Jasmine, Nicole, and the baby will suffer. You come alone or you lose them."
The room fell silent except for the racing heart of Kingsley that pounded hard in his ears.
Raymond suddenly snapped to attention. "Start tracking that call now! Get the tech on it!"
The tech team scrambled to get things done in a hurry. Their fingers typing away.
Kingsley stood still, staring at the phone. The message had been clear, the threat was real.
He looked at Raymond, his voice was low but fierce. "We have to be careful. No mistakes. We do this my way."
Raymond nodded, breathing heavily. "They’re counting on us to panic. We don’t."
Kingsley took a deep breath, his fingers curling into a fist. "I’m going to bring them home. No matter what it takes."
Kingsley’s heart hammered hard in his chest even though he had made a resolve to get things done neatly.
The room felt heavier, like the air itself was thick with fear. He gripped the phone tighter, his knuckles turned white due to the pressure at which he gripped his phone.
Raymond’s red eyes flicked up, meeting Kingsley’s. "That bastard..." he muttered, his voice broke at the end.
Kingsley swallowed hard. "We’ll get them back," he said, his voice low but steady. "I promise."
Raymond fought to stay strong. He just recently lost his mother and the last person he wanted gone was Nicole. He wouldn’t be able to handle the blow. "Nicole... she’s so brave," he whispered, voice still trembling. "I can’t lose her."
Kingsley nodded, his jaw clenched tight. "No one’s losing anyone today."
The men around them were shouting now, phones in hands, tracking signals, moving fast. The tension was hard on everyone in the control room.
Suddenly, Kingsley’s phone beeped again. Another message.
He opened it and saw that it was a map. A location.
Raymond pointed. "This is the warehouse where they’re holding the women."
Kingsley’s eyes darkened. "This is it. No mistakes."
Raymond looked up. "What now?"
Kingsley took a deep breath. "We go and bring them home."
Just then, Kingsley’s phone buzzed again. This time a message from Riley Drake.
Unknown number~~{I’m watching you. Come alone. No tricks. Or the baby suffers.}
Kingsley’s fists clenched into tight balls, he hated that he was in a situation like this. A situation that tasted his patience and humbled him.
Raymond stepped forward, voice firm. "We’ll prepare. But we have to be careful. No rash moves."
Kingsley nodded, eyes fierce. "I won’t let anything happen to them. Not on my watch."
He looked around at his men, all ready to fight.
"We bring them back," Kingsley said. "No matter what." He added.
He turned to face Raymond and instructed. "Get my team. Bring cars to be on standby....we can’t afford to walk into a trap."
