’That tournament would be my ticket to gain connection with the highest authority of their society!’ Ash thought inwardly.

"Hahaha! Are you an idiot?!" Mocked the other guard.

Ash got up on his feet almost immediately, chuckling wryly. "I’m sorry, I’m just very tired after a really long journey. Hehehe. I heard from my friend that I can find some jobs in the city. So, I headed straight from my village. As it turns out, this distance was way longer than anticipated."

"Eh, I don’t care about your trivia. If you wish to enter the city, then you must pay the entrance fee for ten liangs of gold!"

Ash faked a surprised face, he had expected that he would be extorted for any menial reason.
