Rebirth: Dancing In My Destiny -
Chapter 179: Wedding Day (5)
Chapter 179: Wedding Day (5)
Too shy to hear the cheers of her friends and family as they kissed, Rose hid her face in Evan’s chest. She could feel how hot her cheeks were and how loud her heart was beating.
How dare Oliver complains about how short they were kissing? She couldn’t help but curse that dumb Oliver in her heart. Likewise, with her other friends, she could hear their faint giggling. And what’s even more embarrassing is that her mother and mother-in-law also cheer them on. Gosh!
Rose didn’t know how long she hid her face in Evan’s embrace until she heard Evan’s soft voice near her ear. "Ms. Collins, why are you still shy when we are kissing? While we often do that?" His soft chuckles could make Rose’s ear turn red.
"This man? He also joins her friends and family to tease her!?" Rose mutters in her heart.
"Alright, let’s go to celebrate our wedding with our family. And my wife, you have to get used to showing our affection in public. There’s no need to be embarrassed anymore...."
Rose slowly lifts her head and meets his blue sea eyes staring at her. Lovingly. "Hmm, Let’s go!" And only at that moment did Rose realize everyone had already left the chapel. Only they both stayed in that place.
Hand in hand, Rose and Evan walk to the entrance. They follow their friends and family to the house beside the chapel.
When Rose came to this place she didn’t have a chance to pay attention to her surroundings, and the moment she was outside the chapel, she couldn’t stop admiring how beautiful the house was from outside. It was not only the beautiful house that stunned her, but the view from where she was standing now made her unable to describe it in words. She was mesmerized.
For a moment, she stood there and saw the stunning view overlooking the green trees. In the distance, she could also see North Mountain and, of course, the city where they lived now. The clear blue sky made the scenery she saw become perfect.
The view during the day was already stupefying her. Rose imagines seeing the same place and scene from up here but at night. If she has the opportunity, she wants to stay there until night.
Rose is suddenly envious of the owner of this house. She hopes one day she will have the chance to live her life, to own a home in a location like this.
Evan frowns and, looking at his wife, suddenly stops his step. "Wife, what are you looking at?" He saw the direction of her eyes.
"The scenery from here is really stunning..." Rose said without turning her gaze. "Evan, whose house is this?" Since this mountain was Collins’ property, she guessed this house belonged to Grandpa Arthur. But, as the head of the family, he probably doesn’t live here, right!? He must have lived in Collins’s mansion.
"This is my childhood home. In the past, I lived here with my parents. But, after they separated, my father gave this house to my mother...."
Rose was surprised to know this was Evan’s childhood house. She glanced at Evan, but suddenly she felt worried when she saw how gloomy his face was. Was he sad talking about his family?
Afraid it would make him sad even more, Rose remained silent. She just heard what he said. It was rare for this man to talk about his parents. Though she felt worried, deep down in her heart, she felt happy because this was a good sign that Evan was starting to open up about his family to her.
"My mother didn’t want to live in this house. She told me that this house was the source of her sorrow. So, she gave me this house, and she chose to move to Little Heaven to start over her new life."
Rose can see from Evan’s eyes he is calm, but she can clearly hear his voice slightly tremble when he speaks. For some reason, she felt her heart ache for this lonely man.
"Did you remember... After we officially started dating, I visited the capital?"
"Hmm, yeah, I remember..."
"After not visiting this place for many years, I came back to look around. I like this house and the ambiance in this place. Many good memories with my mother in this place, and at the time, I decided to spend my life here with you. So, I ask someone to renovate this house...."
Has this man already thought about spending their lives in this place since they first dated? Rose felt touched but also surprised by how optimistic Evan was about their love chance. But, before expressing her feelings to him, his next words make her want to scold herself.
"But, since you want to stay in the city, I guess this time, I can’t stay here...." As a person who likes to stay at home more than at the office, Evan prefers living in a house far away from the city’s hustle and bustle. But, since his wife wanted to live in the apartment, he had no choice but to follow her.
"Evan, I’m sorry. I didn’t know... Hey, we can stay here!"
Evan didn’t say any words. Instead, he rubbed her cheeks gently. It made Rose look at him; their eyes met, and Rose felt even more guilty at that moment.
"I really like this place, Evan... and I didn’t mind living here with you." Rose tries to reassure Evan.
Before knowing this place, Rose had chosen to stay at an apartment. Because it is so close to her office and she likes the park behind their apartment. But, after seeing how stunning this place is, she was sold. The air is much better than the air she breathes in the city. The bright blue sky and the cool breeze make her feel comfortable lingering in the garden and have thought of climbing the peak. Like a string of beautiful melody, the sound of birds chirping bewitched her to change her mind.
