Chapter 180: Threaten

"Are you serious?" Evan hesitates to ask his wife to live in this house away from the city and her office. If they stayed here, it would take her about forty-five minutes to reach the business district. She would be wasting so much time just to get to the office.

"Yes! Although this place is far from my office. But I don’t need to go to the office daily, right? I’ll go to the office if there’s an important task...." She can work online from home. Or ask Oliver to come up here if there’s something urgent to talk about.

"Alright! We will talk about it later...." Evan said as they walked again. He felt his step and heart lighter, hearing how sincere his wife’s words were.

Before they enter the house, Rose stops her step abruptly. She looked up to see Evan in the eyes, "Evan, so, we will spend our first night here?" Too shy with her seductive words, Rose darted her eyes elsewhere, unable to see him.

Evan slightly smiled, seeing his wife’s cheeks turn red. He tilted his body closer to Rose. After staring into her eyes for a few seconds. He kissed her forehead gently.

"Wife, we will stay overnight in this place. And, tomorrow, we’re going somewhere... to start our honeymoon."

"W-Where?" Rose was nervous because Evan’s face was so close to hers that she could feel his warm breath brushing against hers. She blinked a few times and didn’t dare to move.

"Sorry, honey, I can’t tell you yet...." He stood straight after seeing his wife’s face and ear getting redder.

"Can you have pity on my heart? My fragile heart always bursts whenever you surprise me, Evan...."

Evan chuckled as he touched the tip of her nose with his index finger, "Can you get used to calling me, Hubby? Or call me, Husband is also fine? Mmm... Well, you can decide whatever name you want to call me, but don’t use my name because it’s not special. Everyone calls me by that name!" He insisted.

Rose bites her inner lips as she holds her laugh. Why does this man sound so demanding?

"Wife, you can start now!" Evan said as he pulled her into his arms. Rose was shocked, but she didn’t refuse his sudden hug. Slowly her arms wrapped around his waist as she looked up to see his eyes. However, her heart was beating faster than usual, worried someone might see them.

"Ms. Collins, I will carry you to our wedding bed upstairs if you don’t call me now...." Evan raises his brows as his seductive smile appears on his lips.

"H-Hu..." Before Rose could finish her words, she heard an angry voice from inside the house. She was stunned. Without her knowing, she pushed Evan slightly to make a distance between them.

"Brat! How could you bully your wife minutes after you married her?" Arthur slapped his grandson’s shoulder.

Earlier, Arthur wanted to look for his grandson to talk about something important. Still, he was surprised when he saw his grandson threaten his wife. Instantly his anger erupts.

How dare this brat scold his wife?

After Arthur satisfied venting his anger by hitting his grandson’s back. He turns her gaze to Rose. His face suddenly turned gentle. With his soft voice, he said, "Little Rose, if your husband bullies you again, you should come to me. I will break his leg if he does a despicable thing to you...." Arthur’s voice sounded solemn.

Evan was dumbfounded after getting hit by his grandpa. What the hell!?

"G-Grandpa! Why are you hitting me?" He frowned.

"You deserved it!"

"I’m not bullying my wife. How could I do that?" Evan felt annoyed with his grandfather’s sudden appearance and slap.

Rose lightly chuckles when she sees Grandpa Arthur suspiciously looking at his grandson as if he couldn’t believe his grandson’s words.

Somehow, Rose felt happy because she now had someone to protect her beside her husband. She never met a grandpa figure in her life because her mother’s adoptive father died before she was born. Rose still feels surreal now with the care Grandpa Arthur has given her. She loves it!

"Wife, can you tell Grandpa I wasn’t bullying you?" Evan looked at his wife pleadingly. He can’t stand his grandpa when he’s upset like now. Usually, he will just avoid him.

Rose nodded.

"Grandpa, my husband is the gentlest human I have ever met in this life. He will never hurt me. Please don’t scold him again. Earlier, we just talked about something. He did not scold me..." Rose convinced Grandpa Arthur with her sincere-looking eyes. She was lucky because now Grandpa Arthur’s aura changed to as she usually saw, gentle and amiable.

"Grandpa! You hear it by yourself, right! Can you believe me now?" There was still a sign of annoyance in Evan’s tone.

"I believe in my granddaughter, not you!" Arthur smiles at Rose before he looks at his grandson again. "I need to talk to you, now!"

"About?"

Arthur Collins didn’t reply to his grandson right away. Instead, he saw Rose, "Little girl, I’m sorry, can you wait for us inside?" He wanted to speak to Evan about something Rose should not have heard. He was worried that this little girl would be hurt if he listened to their conversation.

"Grandpa! She is my wife now. You can say anything. I’m not hiding anything from her...." Evan grabbed Rose’s hand and pulled her closer. As if he didn’t want to let his wife leave him.

Rose knows something essential or a secret that Grandpa Arthur wants to discuss, but she is stunned by her husband’s act.

"Evan! Let me go inside to accompany the others. You can talk to grandpa here...." She tried to reassure Evan that she was okay. She knows her husband worries about her feelings and wants her to stay there. Still, she couldn’t wait because she felt slightly uncomfortable being there. After all, she wanted to talk to her mother and in-law inside.
