Rebirth: Dancing In My Destiny
Chapter 177: Wedding Day (3)

Chapter 177: Wedding Day (3)

Seeing Evan didn’t reply to her question. Instead, he just smiled at her. She turned her gaze back to the front. She could see a few small roads on the left and right, but Sam’s car continued straight along the smooth asphalt road up the mountain. Along the way, not once did she see their car pass another car.

After a while, their car turned right. As usual, there was a checkpoint a mile from the main road. Their car didn’t stop. It slowed down as Sam exchanged a smile with the guard at the post. It was as if Sam had come to this place many times, and the guard recognized him.

Another minute passed, and Rose finally saw a two-story house with a modern design dominated by gray and black paint at the end of the road. Not far from the building, there is a small Chapel surrounded by colorful flowers. The gardens surrounding the Chapel and the houses were so beautiful.

Whose house is this? Why did they come here? Many questions popped up in Rose’s mind, making her look to Evan to ask. But before she could ask, Sam’s car passed the house and stopped right in front of the Chapel. Rose was surprised.

So they’re not only going to register the marriage in the registry office, but they’re going to get married in this Chapel?

Is she dreaming right now? Evan gave her a proper wedding, not only a sign of a paper? Rose was touched. Not once did she imagine Evan would marry her in a chapel in a place as beautiful as this. Not once did Rose ever think Evan wanted a wedding ceremony like this. But she was wrong.

"Let’s go, Rose... Everyone is waiting for us."

Rose was still surprised that she didn’t realize that Evan had already opened the car door for her. He stood outside, waiting for her to come down.

"Evan, what is this place?"

"Rose, we will get married in this private chapel...."

Evan’s words make her heart swell with a feeling that she can’t put into words. She was utterly speechless. She slowly raised her hand and held his hand tightly.

The clear blue skies and the sound of wild birds chirping like a beautiful melody accompanied their steps toward the Chapel. They walk side by side up the stairs of the Chapel. Rose’s heart is packed with joy, too happy with this moment. But, when she enters the Chapel, her eyes almost pop out. She sees those closest to her standing in the Chapel, looking at her with happy eyes. Instantly her heart trembles in happiness.

She saw her best friend from college, who is now working at her company as a director, James, and the others, including her childhood best friend, Oliver. She also saw Grandpa Arthur standing with a man in a black suit. She believed the unfamiliar man was the marriage commissioner who would marry them.

But what made her unable to hold back her tears was when her eyes saw the woman wearing a blue navy knee-length dress. Her face resembles her a lot... Her mother was standing there with her big smile and teary eyes.

The biggest regret she ever felt when she married Dustin was that they only registered their marriage and had no wedding ceremony after that. Her mother never witnessed her wedding until cancer took her life. She was genuinely grateful that her mother could be with her on her wedding day this time.

"E-Evan, thank you...." Rose grasped Evan’s hand tighter as she looked at Evan for a slight second before running into her mother’s arms. She completely ignored that she was wearing 4-inch high heels, and many pairs of eyes were watching her then.

"Mom..." She buries herself in her mother’s embrace as she tightly hugs her. "Thank you for coming, Mom. Am so happy!" Rose whispers while trying to stop her sobbing. But she couldn’t. After a few minutes, Rose felt a little bit calm when her mother’s hand rubbed her back gently. It felt like she flew back to her childhood memories when her mother often did that when she was sad or crying.

"Can you hold yourself? We are not alone in this place...." Molly whispers, feeling embarrassed because her daughter hugs her like a koala. This silly girl of hers, how could she forget Evan’s grandpa and friend in this room?

"Mom, why didn’t you tell me before you came to my wedding?" Rose was finally able to control herself. She slowly released her hug but her hand still tightly held her mother’s hands. "Why did you lie to me this morning when I called you, huh!?" Rose pouted, feeling betrayed at her mother.

Molly was speechless. She could only hold her daughter’s hand and smile to make her less sulky.

"Rose, I’m sorry. I asked mom to keep it a secret. I want to surprise you...." Evan stands beside Rose. He felt proud to make his lover so happy by bringing her mother. However, he became worried when he saw her cry like this.

Rose looked at Evan, "Thanks, Evan, I’m so happy. Thank you so much...."

"It’s my pleasure, wifey! But hey, stop crying, alright? This is a happy moment, not sad." Evan wiped the tear trail still on her cheek with a sincere smile. He knows these tears are Rose’s happy tears, but still, his heartaches every time he sees her shed a tear like this.

Rose nods. Then she looked again at her mother, "Mom, did you fly here yourself?" Rose was worried that her mother would have to fly alone because all she knew was that her mother had never been to this city in her entire life.

"I come with your Uncle Jamie," Molly turns to look in the corner. "He sat over there..." Rose looked in the back corner. She saw Jamie Stone in his black suit seat in the last row as he talked to someone on the phone. Rose waves her hand and smiles when Uncle Jamie looks at her.

Rose’s happiness is complete.
