Chapter 176: Wedding Day (2)
Chapter 176: Wedding Day (2)
"You look so pretty, Rose!"
Evan couldn’t help but praise his bride. Her effortless beauty always amazes him from the day he sees her. He never gives up waiting for this girl to be his girlfriend, and his patience finally pays off. Today, this girl will become his legal wife. There would be no more anxiety whenever he saw her with another man. This girl will be his, ultimately.
"You too! You look stunning, Evan..." Rose said while holding back the turmoil of her heart that had been jolted when she saw this handsome man in front of her.
"Shall we go now?"
"Hmm, let’s go." At this point, Rose had mixed feelings. She felt both happy and nervous at the same time. As they walked to the elevator, she looked at Evan with pride-looking eyes, too happy this man would be her husband in a few minutes.
Her mixed emotions can make her heart tremble as she makes a vow in her heart to devote her life to the man she chose this time. She will follow his steps whenever he goes and whatever life brings them.
When they arrived at the main entrance. Rose could see Sam and Gavin near Evan Maybach. She couldn’t contain her excitement, seeing Sam after a few days of sudden vacation without telling her. Rose knew the reason why Sam had suddenly taken a leave. And she felt guilty about it.
"Evan, thank you!"
"Huh!? For what?" Evan glances at Rose as they walk to the car. He was confused by her sudden thankfulness.
"For letting Sam come back to work for me. I really need him to help me...."
"You know!?" Evan slightly chuckled, feeling embarrassed.
"Yeah, I know. How can that lad go on vacation when my office is busy? Impossible, right!? Unless someone tells him to go somewhere...."
"That fool Sam deserves to be punished. He can’t handle his job properly!"
"When I was almost kidnapped, it wasn’t his fault. But it’s my fault. So you shouldn’t punish him for that...."
Rose’s firm voice was able to make Evan nod. But, deep down in his heart, he was laughing. He punished Sam not because of that but because this stupid Sam gave wrong information about Oliver.
"Hello, Sam! You look fresh after the holiday, huh!" Rose teases Sam, who now focuses on driving the car. She silently chuckled when she saw Sam awkwardly glance at her.
"L-Lady Boss... looks like I’d rather work than vacation. It’s not fun at all!"
"Really!? Wow, I didn’t expect you to prefer work to vacation. That’s a good thing, Sam..." Rose smiled as she looked at Evan. He ignored them as he looked at his cellphone.
"Yeah, that’s true, Lady Boss. Working with you is a blessing...." Instantly, Sam’s mouth tightly shut. Aware that what he said could trigger a third world war. Damn it!
"Sam, next time, you should consult with me if you want to go on holiday. I will give you suggestions for places you will like..." Rose knows Evan clearly hears what she and Sam are talking about and what message she wants to tell her beloved soon-to-be husband. Never interfere with her personal assistant.
Sam almost choked as he clearly understood the meaning of his lady boss’ words. Sam takes it as a warning he is working for Boss Rose, not for Boss Evan. With that understanding, Sam felt wanted to be invisible in that car. He was afraid Boss Evan would be angry at him even more.
Just a few minutes in the same place with his two powerful bosses, Sam immediately felt all his energy and mind drained to zero.
"Yes, Lady Boss. I will tell you...." Sam said. He is praying that Lady Boss will finish speaking to him.
Satisfied with teasing Sam, Rose looked out the car window. She was surprised to see that Sam’s car was not headed for the marriage registry office close to the district where they lived. But they are heading north. They even pass through North Mountain, Spencer’s family territory.
Rose thought they were going to another marriage registration office, but after a few minutes of driving, their car headed for the Misty mountain. She knows this Misty mountain area is land owned by Collins, located on the border of the capital city of Fort City with North City.
Their car exited the north ring road and started taking a new route, deeper heading to the Misty Mountain area.
The area is strictly guarded. Only cars with specific stickers can pass through the heavily guarded gates by a few well-built men.
Rose wondered why they had headed for the area where the Collins family lived? She was starting to worry that Evan would take her to Collins’s main house. It seemed she was not ready to meet Evan’s father.
After a few minutes passed the gate, no car could be seen on the road, only their card passing an empty road flanked by large shady trees. As far as the eye could see, all she could see was a tall tree. Very beautiful. So calm.
A few minutes passed, and Rose finally could see the first building. A huge white-painted mansion with a black roof.
Are they going to Collins Mansion? Her heart started to tighten, feeling nervous. But her thought was wrong because their car didn’t slow down. Instead, Sam hit the gas as they passed the house.
"Evan, where are we going?" When Rose turned to look at Evan, she was surprised because, at this moment, Evan was staring at her. "Why are we here? Shouldn’t we be going to register the marriage at the civil registry office?"
"What do you think?" Evan asked back as a calm smile graced his face.
"What place is this?" In this life, she never came and knew about this place. Rose only knew this place from her previous life and that this area belonged to the Collins Family. She pretends not to know, worried Evan will be suspicious of her.
