Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife -
Chapter 86: Sleep Together
Chapter 86: Sleep Together
Just as she regained her calmness, Xavier’s next question caused her to lose her calm again.
"Iris, are you satisfied with my answer?"
’Oh my God, why do I have to answer that?’ Iris could only vent her frustration in her heart. She could only nod weakly in response.
In her past life, she never once had a boyfriend because she was an assassin; having someone she loves means increasing her weakness.
That’s why, this time, she didn’t know how to act in front of the person she liked. Moreover, her boyfriend was someone who had the same personality as her, an introvert.
"Xavier, actually... I’ve never been in a relationship before," Iris paused for a moment, feeling somewhat embarrassed discussing this with him. "I hope you can understand if I’m inexperienced when it comes to romance. I’ve never shared my feelings with anyone except you..." She wished she could disappear from that moment. Regret gnawed at her for bringing up the subject, especially when she saw his charming smile.
Xavier was amused by the embarrassment radiating from Iris’ eyes. Slowly, he raised his hand and gently stroked her smooth cheek, the unexpected touch making Iris momentarily freeze in surprise.
Slowly, her heartbeat became faster, and it felt like her cheeks felt warm, making her hide her blushing face slowly.
Xavier believed she was referring to her past life, and discovering that she had never been in love with other men made him happy.
"Iris, I’m glad to hear that. I have to admit, I don’t really like my women having exes... or having many male friends."
Iris, "..."
Her thoughts raced. ’A possessive type of man? Well, it appears I’ll need to be cautious when forming new male friendships. Xavier might not take it lightly!’
They continued their conversation throughout the night.
Iris learned many new things about Xavier and vice versa. She shared everything about herself, wanting Xavier to know her true self, not young Iris.
During their lovely and warm conversation, she began to fall deeply in love with him. She now realized that Xavier wasn’t as cold as he seemed these past few days since she met him. This man was actually very warm and understanding. He paid attention to what she said, even though he didn’t say much.
They grew even closer in just a few hours, and the awkwardness gradually faded within her. Most importantly, she started feeling comfortable every time Xavier touched her hand or face.
However, their intimate, warm conversation finally had to end when she began yawning several times, and Xavier asked her to get some sleep.
...
Several minutes had passed, and the two of them just stood in front of her room, holding hands. Iris wanted to enter her bedroom, but Xavier refused to let her go. She also felt the same way; she still wanted to chat with him.
A few moments later, Xavier leaned his head closer to Iris’ face. She was shocked to see him getting closer, and her heart raced at the thought that Xavier might kiss her again. But before she could close her eyes, Xavier whispered, "Iris... Should we sleep together?"
Iris, "..."
Her face flushed with redness upon hearing such a vulgar word coming from Xavier’s mouth, especially delivered in such a casual tone.
"You don’t want to?" Xavier asked in a disappointed tone as he pulled his head away to clearly see her expression. When she noticed Iris lowering her head and avoiding eye contact, he gently touched her chin, guiding her gaze to meet his.
"I..." She couldn’t find the right words to answer his question. Her tongue felt numb.
As confusion flickered through Iris’ eyes, a faint smile graced the edges of Xavier’s lips. "I was just joking, Iris," Xavier reassured her, his hand resting gently on her neck. With his thumb, he tenderly stroked her warm cheek. He didn’t want to force her to sleep together now. They still had plenty of time, and he would patiently wait for her.
Observing Iris blink several times, he continued, "Alright, go to sleep now. We can talk again tomorrow." He guided her into the room and closed the door behind her.
Xavier didn’t immediately leave his spot. He stood there momentarily, his spring-like smile framing his pale, handsome face as he gazed at the closed door before him, his golden-yellow eyes shining. The desireless Xavier Darkwood is finally about to bloom!

Next Morning.
Iris woke up to the sound of the alarm she set for seven in the morning. He deliberately woke up early, wanting to try exercising outdoors. Since there was no snow on the beach and the air was not as bone-chillingly cold as Silenthill’s, she decided to try jogging at this new location. It will also help satisfy her longing for the daily routine she once loved in her previous life.
After wearing the jogging track she had found in the cupboard, Iris peeked out of the window and noticed that the sun was about to rise over the horizon, casting the surroundings in darkness. However, she paid no heed to the dim light, as in the past, she had regularly exercised early in the morning.
Not wanting to wake Xavier, Iris quietly opened the bedroom door and tiptoed toward the main entrance. However, Iris was unaware that Xavier never slept. He was resting on the couch when he saw her briskly walking through the dark living room.
Xavier patiently waited, curious about what she would do. Shock coursed through him as he realized she was heading toward the main door. ’Why does she want to leave so early in the morning?’
He rose from the sofa and followed her. Just as Iris was about to open the door, he asked, "Iris, why are you going out so early?"
Instantly, Iris’s hand hung in the air just before touching the doorknob. Her body tensed upon hearing Xavier’s voice from behind.
’My goodness! Why is he up so early?’ Iris wondered. She turned around to face him and could sense the anxiety radiating from his eyes. "I want to jog—"
