Chapter 73: New Room For Her
Chapter 73: New Room For Her
When Iris arrived at Darkwood Villa, she was stunned to see Xavier standing at the main entrance, waiting for her. He looked handsome even though he only wore his black training outfit, but his expression remained cold and distant.
Iris suddenly felt terrible when she saw his expression. Afraid, her early arrival could put him in a bad mood. It was only seven, and the sun hadn’t even appeared on the horizon. She believed Justin and Niles were probably still asleep.
After parking her car and grabbing her travel bag, Iris rushed to approach Xavier with a regretful expression.
"Xavier, did I come too early?" Iris asked when she stopped right before him.
He shook his head. "No. Actually, I usually wake up before sunrise," he said casually while leading her inside.
Iris silently followed him into the empty, dark living room in silence. She was impressed to see another part of the house she had never been to. The luxuriousness and masculinity were clearly visible as if no women lived there.
’Is it only the three of them living here?’ Iris wondered while continuing to look around in silence, trying to find traces of other people and the woman who had decorated the house when she first arrived. She remembered seeing fresh flowers in a few spots, but she never saw any flowers after that.
Soon, Iris saw a brightly lit room ahead, and she could faintly hear Justin and Niles’ voices talking. When she entered the room, she was stunned to see both of them enjoying their morning coffee at a large wooden dining table.
"Good morning, Iris. So happy to see you this early," Justin smiled at her.
"Morning, Iris," Niles greeted her with a slight nod.
"Hi, hello, guys..." Iris replied, surprised to see them already awake at this hour. At her house, her grandma always woke up early because she needed to prepare to open Gray Cafe and serve breakfast to the locals.
But these guys? Why were they up so early? Did they know she would come to use their gym? What puzzled her even more was that they all looked so fresh, with no sign that they had only slept for a few hours.
"Iris, come... Come sit here. Do you want coffee?" Justin stood up from his seat, "I’ll make your favorite coffee."
Iris immediately stopped him and glanced at Xavier, who stood silently beside her. "Xavier, do you want breakfast?"
He turned his gaze to her and absentmindedly replied, "How about you?"
"I’ve had breakfast at home," Iris said in a hushed tone, not wanting Justin to hear. "I just want to see your gym and start working out..."
"Let’s go," Xavier said and left the room.
"Guys, have a nice chat," Iris smiled at Justin and Niles, then hurriedly walked behind Xavier, who was already heading to the living room area.
She was stunned when she saw an elevator in the corner.
When she saw him press number three, suddenly she remembered that place was Xavier’s bedroom.
’Why are we going to that place?’
She opened her mouth a few times, wanted to ask, but saw him giving her the cold silence again. She put aside that thought.
"You need to change, right?" Xavier asked, sensing her confusion.
"Y-Yes..." Iris replied, following him out of the elevator. "Xavier, can I just use the guest room downstairs?" she suggested. Somehow, she felt awkward using his bedroom again.
Xavier frowned as he looked at her. "We don’t have a guest room downstairs. But you can use that room..." He pointed at another room opposite his bedroom. She felt relieved while scolding herself for overthinking.
"You can use that room to place your stuff. That room used to be my study, but I’ve changed it to a bedroom if you come to this house."
Iris was rendered speechless hearing his words.
’Why did he set up a bedroom for me in his house?’ She glanced in the direction of the room, confused. She remembered that she hadn’t seen any rooms there a few days ago.
’Or maybe it was because she hadn’t paid much attention?’ She feels puzzled and then turns her gaze at him again. Before she could voice her thoughts, she heard him continue speaking.
"And the gym is right beside that room," Xavier pointed at another door. "You can come here anytime and use that gym because no one uses it except me. But... lately, I rarely use it..."
"I see. So, can I start now?" She asked.
"Sure! You can use it," Xavier casually replied, walking toward his bedroom. "I’ll be in my room... If you’re finished, you can call me."
Iris felt relieved when she saw Xavier enter his bedroom. She immediately made her way to the room Xavier had said she could use.
...
Iris didn’t have much time. She had only a few hours before they had to go to campus for exams. They still had exams in the next few days before the mid-semester break.
When Iris entered the bedroom, she was stunned. For a few seconds, she only stood there looking at the room. The room was beautifully decorated in Mid Century style. Although not very large, it was fully furnished, similar to her current bedroom at her house. It felt cozy with just a glance, but she put aside her curiosity to explore the room.
She changed into her sportswear and tied her hair into a bun. Afterward, she left the room and entered the gym next door. The gym didn’t look much different from the one she used in her past life.
However, the stunning view through the vast glass wall caught her attention after entering this room. She could see the expanse of the lake, now covered in snow, the white forest in the distance, and the sky gradually changing color as the sun appeared on the horizon.
"This place is awesome!" Iris mumbled as she began stretching before using the treadmill. She ran while feasting her eyes on the fantastic view outside.
