Chapter 52: Take Advantage of You

"I... I’m fine... No, no, not just f-fine. I’m feeling great. W-why do you ask?" she stammered, confused as she observed Xavier’s expression transform into a frown.

"I called you several times, but you just froze, staring at the gun on that wall," Xavier pointed to the sniper rifle in front of them.

Iris turned her gaze slowly towards the wall, feeling puzzled. ’Why was I fixated on that rifle? Can that weapon hold memories from my past life?’ she wondered.

She turned her attention back to Xavier, offering a smile before speaking, "It seems I was just taken aback by your weapon collection here. Why do you need so many weapons?" Her curiosity was clearly apparent through her gaze.

Xavier rubbed his brow before replying, "I’ve already explained my reasons, haven’t I?"

She could only nod, recalling that she had given him a foolish reason for wanting a gun, just as he may have done.

"Choose what you like. No need to pay. And, you can choose as much as you want," Xavier said before walking to the other side of the room, seemingly ignoring her.

Iris was speechless. A frown appeared on her face as she gazed at Xavier.

"Xavier, please don’t refuse. I’m willing to pay you. I don’t want to take advantage of you. Let me pay, alright!?" She said sincerely.

He suppressed a laugh at her words, ’Take advantage of me?’

He places the gun back on the shelf. He turned to see her, "Iris, you’re not taking advantage of me. However, if you insist on paying, I’ll let you know the price later. For now, just choose what you need."

Iris finally smiles at his response.

She began to select the firearms she needed — a small Glock 43 she could discreetly carry underneath her coat and a silencer. She also grabbed a few spare clips.

As she finished making her choices, her gaze landed on a cupboard tucked away in the corner. She couldn’t help but feel a rush of delight as she cast her eyes over Xavier’s impressive collection of daggers.

"Xavier," Iris calls him. When their eyes met, she continued, "Can I also purchase these daggers?" She needs to replace the one she had bought from Daisy’s shop.

"Yes, please. Just choose the ones you prefer," he replied calmly, understanding the significance of having the right weapons for her mission as an assassin at GH.

Once Iris had finished selecting her preferred weapons, they returned to the living room upstairs. She found Niles and Justin waiting. After placing the weapon bag on the sofa, she motioned for Justin to join her in a quieter corner.

"Did Xavier already know about my car?" Iris asked with curiosity. He nods. "What did you tell him?" she continued to ask.

"I told him that you bought a car and used our address for delivery because you don’t want your grandma to know," Iris replied, observing her expression carefully, afraid she might not like the idea.

"Perfect, Justin! I love your idea," Iris nodded and gave him a thumbs-up, feeling pleased.

"Wow, this is the first time you’ve liked my ideas, Iris..." Justin chuckled. "Alright, do you want to see it now?"

"No, need! Just bring it to the courtyard. I will take the car with me when I’m going home."

"Awesome!" Justin raised his thumbs up and left the room.

As Iris returned to the seating area, she was surprised to discover that Niles was no longer in the room, despite having just seen him conversing with Xavier.

Meanwhile, Xavier seemed engrossed in reading something on his iPad. Iris made her way to a chair across from him, and though she offered a smile, as usual, Xavier’s expression remained unchanged, ignoring her.

"Xavier, where’s Niles?" Iris asked.

"He’s gone somewhere," Xavier looked up from his iPad to meet her gaze. "Why are you looking for him?"

"Just wanted to ask about what happened at Gray Cafe."

"Everything’s alright; you don’t need to worry," Xavier reassured her. Before Iris could respond, Justin suddenly entered the room, informing her that her car was ready.

"Fantastic, Justin..." Iris was excited. She couldn’t help but wonder which car Justin had found for her and how much the price was.

Iris followed Justin to the front yard, with Xavier trailing closely behind them. When they reached the front, she was left stunned to see a sleek black Aston Martin parked there.

’What a stunning car!’ she thought.

Coming to a halt just before Justin, she whispered to him, "Justin, this is definitely a new car. Are you sure your friends are willing to sell it to me?"

"I’ve already told you, my friend is incredibly wealthy," Justin replied, casting a quick glance at Xavier, who stood nearby. "And you’re right. This is indeed a new car. He bought this car but never used it."

"My goodness, I hope... I can get to know that guy," Iris chuckled.

’Iris Gray, what would happen if only you knew that your boyfriend owns this car?’ Justin tries suppressing his laugh.

"Justin, I wish I could be friends with him," Iris continued, laughing at the idea of having a wealthy friend.

"Well, you—" Justin was about to say something, he heard Xavier’s warning in his mind. He immediately diverted the conversation and asked Iris instead, "You want to try the car now?"

Iris nodded happily as she received the car key from Justin. Feeling excited, she started the car engine and glanced at Justin, who had settled into the passenger seat.

"What kind of car is this?" Iris glanced at Justin.

She was well-versed in matters related to computer components and weapons. Still, when it came to cars, she found herself bewildered due to her lack of understanding.

"This is an Aston Martin DBX 707," Justin answered.

"Is it expensive? Give me your bank details; I’ll transfer the money right away, Justin."

"No need to pay. My best friend gave me this car," Justin responded, following Xavier’s guidance. "Just use it. I already have a lot of cars, so I don’t need this car..."

"No way! I don’t want to have it free. Please, name it the price, Justin. I will transfer the money," Iris insisted.

"Alright! I’ll text you the details later..."
