Chapter 270: The Mistery About Her Death
Chapter 270: The Mistery About Her Death
They appear at the waterfall near the house.
Sitting on the massive rock while gazing at the beautiful cascade waterfall and hearing the beautiful sound of the waterfall was not enough to make her less annoyed.
She still feels sulky because Xyronos didn’t want to tell her how many times he killed her.
Iris believed it was not just counting by finger, but more than that, he killed her just because she didn’t remember her past.
...
Xyronos feels worried when Iris gives him her cold shoulder.
"I know what I did in the past was horrible, but I did it just because I really wanted to meet you."
Iris continues to ignore him.
He asked after a long moment passed. "Iris, can you stop ignoring me?"
Hearing his desperate voice, Iris slowly turned her gaze at him. She saw him standing a few meters away from her, with his eyes intently looking at her.
Iris can see so many emotions in his expression. She couldn’t avoid it; her heart softened slightly.
Xyronos approached Iris and sat right beside her. He didn’t rush to continue his words but squeezed her hand gently.
He sighed slightly when he saw her open her mouth a few times, but no words escaped her lips.
"Iris, please forget those past, huh!? What is important now is that we are reunited, and you remember me..."
Iris smiled at him slightly, even though she was still annoyed somewhat inwardly. "Ok," she answered.
She will put aside her annoyance because she needs to clarify something. This is more urgent.
Before Xyronos expresses his happiness, he hears her continue her words.
"But, Xy... there’s something that still confuses me. I need you to explain to me."
’Did I make another mistake?’ Xyronos wondered. He felt his heart tighter, curious to know what she wanted to ask.
"Mmm, go ahead..." he said, even though he was confused when he saw how dark her expression was.
Iris narrows her eyes at him before asking, "Why did my father attack the Demon race and want your life?"
This confused Iris because, at that time, she had already agreed to engage with Xavier, following her father’s request. Meanwhile, Xyronos was the person she had hurt; they should pity him because he is the one who lost.
However, why did her father and Xavier still attack him and eradicate the Demon race from the middle realm!?
Iris needs to know this before she makes another plan to take revenge on someone responsible for her death.
...
There’s a killing, intense radiance from Xyrono’s gaze. After a few moments of silence, he finally responds to her, "That’s because they all thought I’m the one who killed you—"
"What rubbish thinking is that!? You’re not my murderer!" Iris couldn’t help but express her frustration.
How could they accuse Xyronos of doing that? Impossible! Xyronos would never do that. Iris knew Xy would never betray her. He loves her very much. He is the only person in the entire universe who would hurt her.
"Well, I’m confused too. They say it’s because you died in my land. So, yeah... they made up an excuse just to kill me." He paused to chuckle as he turned his gaze from her to the waterfall.
After a few moments, he continued, "And Iris, I am also willing to die... I decided to follow you to the afterlife." He said, turning his gaze back to Iris.
Iris was stunned.
She could see no regret in his gaze. She feels warmth slowly overtake her heart. For a while, she could only look at him with mixed emotions; she felt happy because this man was willing to follow her to the afterlife, but at the same time, she felt sorry.
It never crossed her mind that this powerful and proud man in the entire universe was willing to sacrifice his life only for her. She is just merely a princess in a small kingdom.
While he? He is the son of the creator of this entire universe. How could he be willing to follow her to the afterlife and even decide to lose his powers so that he would still keep memories of her?
Iris was utterly speechless. She can’t imagine how she will deal with her emotions now. This man was someone who sacrificed his life for her. At the same time, she has another man, her husband.
She was confused!
...
"Xy, I’m sorry! Because of me, you suffer—"
"No. Please don’t say that. I told you before you are my world, my realm. If you die, I also must die! Just as simple as that..." Xyronos said, stroking her hair gently.
But, later, his hand stopped when he remembered something. He looked her in the eyes, "Iris, who killed you?"
Iris was suprised to hear his question. She suppressed the anger in her stomach and took a deep breath before answering, "My brother!"
Xyronos was shocked to hear that. How could his brother kill her?
"Which one?" Xyronos asked. He knew Iris had three little brothers.
"You know who he is!" Iris took a deep breath, trying to suppress her anger, remembering her ambitious little brother.
"Bloody hell!! Vernon? Your younger brother!?"
"Indeed. He was the one who killed me," Iris’ voice was soft, almost inaudible, but it sounded shaky as she held back her anger.
A look of surprise flashed across his eyes, but in the end, he smiled bitterly.
"Iris, now I understand why you are so easy to kill. All this time, your death became a mystery to me. You are more powerful than the average person could have in the middle realm. How could you die in my land without fighting!?"
"I asked my spy in the middle realm to investigate, but we can’t find a clue as to how you died..." He continues his words.
"Yeah, I didn’t suspect my brother would kill me that day. When I realized his intention, it was too late..." Iris laughed bitterly.
