On top of the hill, Xavier’s soul — looking like a silver light — perched on a large tree branch, his gaze fixed on the window in the villa in the distance.

He could see his wife standing there, but he was powerless to help her because of his deal with his brother, Xyronos.

Separated from her for days, a desire to break the deal and rescue her emerged within him. However, once more, a heavenly punishment restrained him.

Xavier is willing to bear the punishment alone but hesitates because Iris will suffer the consequences. He now felt regret because he had agreed to Xyronos’ offer. He couldn’t help but blame his father for granting his younger brother the power to subdue him.

"Iris, my darling wife, I trust you. No matter what Xyronos tries to make you choose him, I trust you."

Xavier took a deep breath before he turned his gaze away from her to leave the place.

However, he stopped when he could feel Xyronos’ aura approaching. He saw his brother appear next to him, wearing a long black coat. His aura is dark and dangerous, as usual.

"I can’t believe you’ve appeared here, brother," Xyronos chuckled, gazing at a silver shadow beside him with his curious gaze. "I thought you wouldn’t show up until two weeks from now."

Xavier didn’t say any words, but he cursed Xyronos in his mind.

"Do you want to break the deal now, brother?" Xyronos asked casually; however, his devilish smile wanted to convey his taunt to Xavier.

A flash of anger flashed through Xavier’s eyes when he heard Xyronos’ words. "Now I know that you don’t love her."

Veins appeared on Xyronos’ forehead. "Don’t talk nonsense. She is the only woman who fills my heart!"

"And what happened to all the women you ever slept with in the middle realm? Do they also have a place in your heart?" Xavier wanted to answer him that, but he was too lazy to argue with this immature man.

"If you love her, you will never want to see her suffer!" He had spoken emotionlessly but tried to make him angry.

Xyronos clenched his hand, trying to hold back his anger.

Xavier couldn’t help smiling in his mind before continuing his words.

"If you love her, you would never lock her up in such a small room," Xavier paused, feeling happy to see him angry. "Be honest with your heart; you were only playing with her heart in the past, and she was too innocent to know how evil you are. You must admit that you don’t deserve her in this life or whatever realm you exist in..."

He vanished and didn’t give Xyronos a chance to say anything.

Instantly, Xyronos’ face turned grim. Turning towards the window where Iris was standing, the shine in his eyes suddenly dimmed.

Xyronos is conflicted after hearing Xavier’s words. His older brother’s words hit his heart. He didn’t know how to react, but one thing he knew was to end her suffering.

"Iris, I’m sorry to make you suffer. But this is the only way to make you return to me." He said in a low voice, with his heart filled with grief.

As the night deepens, Xyronos appears in Iris’ bedroom.

His gaze fell on Iris, who was lying under the blanket. Her face looks flawless, making him unable to take his eyes off her, even for only a second. He satisfied his eyes momentarily before his feet finally moved closer to the bed.

He stood by the bed, listening to her melodic breathing, surpassing any music he had heard in this lower realm.

However, when he saw her forehead slightly furrowed, it worried him — She must be having a nightmare.

He started hearing her thoughts, and annoyance slowly emerged in his heart when he heard she was dreaming about Xavier.

’I’m sorry if I made you remember me without your consent, Iris. I no longer want to leave you suffer in this room. I want you to feel this house to become yours freely. Become the lady of this house like what happened in the past.’

Xyronos gently placed his hand on her forehead while sitting at the edge of the bed. He closed his eyes and began restoring all her memories.

Iris slowly opened her eyes as the sun rose from the horizon. She was in the same room with the ceiling she despised, but after a few days there, she felt a sense of calmness in her mind that morning.

She glanced at the window and saw a ray of golden light coming in through the gap of the slightly open curtains. Flashing a gentle smile, she slowly exited the blanket and walked towards the window.

She was surprised to see the scenery before her eyes, this morning looking more beautiful than the day before.

Her hand opened the window to let the cool morning air into his room. She was surprised to find that the window, which was usually locked, could now be opened.

She opened the window and let in a gust of fresh air that tickled her face, finally making her feel happy to breathe some fresh air.

However, Iris suddenly felt her head hurt a lot. She buried her head with her palms while trying to drag her feet towards the sofa. Her body fell, and the pain in her head got worse. She couldn’t even open her eyes.

Suddenly, the memory hidden in the depths of her mind erupted, nearly splitting her head. Various video-like recordings appeared like rapidly rotating slides. She was confused, but later, she was shocked beyond words over time.

’My memories!?’

Iris feels happy, but simultaneously, her heart aches when the pictures finally stop playing, and the pain in her head slowly fades away.

"Xy..." Iris mumbles softly as memories of her and Xyronos become clear.

Without knowing, she stands up from her seat and walks quickly toward the door. Upon opening it, she sees Xyronos standing there.

"Good morning, my lady!" A clear and charming voice greeted her.

She doesn’t answer him. Instead, she buries herself in his warm embrace.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t remember you. I’m sorry..." She says softly in a barely audible voice.
