Iris stood by the window in her bedroom, looking at the lonely moon in the dark sky.

Her mind was in chaos after talking with Xyronos all day.

She didn’t know how to react to so much new information she heard from him.

Did he tell the truth or want to create discord between her and Xavier?

The more Iris thought about Xyronos’ words, the more confused she was.

However, after she tried to connect all the stories she had heard from several people, what he said made sense.

"Iris, do you want your memories back?"

She didn’t know how many times Xyronos’ offer played on her mind; however, until night approached, she still had not decided to do it.

This is the first time Iris is afraid to regain her memories from her past.

She was afraid that remembering the past would strain her relationship with Xavier. She didn’t want that to happen.

Xavier is her husband. The man she loved, and she wanted that to continue until her last breath. Now, she doesn’t want her past but only needs her present and future.

However, it seemed God was punishing her; Xyronos’ words played in her mind.

"Listen, Iris... My brother, the one who stole you from me. He forced your parents to engage with you just because he wanted to make me angry. He wanted to punish me."

These words tortured her with the temptation to know her past—the truth.

Iris tried to divert her thoughts, but it was hard for her not to ignore this fact.

’God! How cruel you play with my destiny like this?’ Iris signs deeply while pressing her chest. This is not the first time, but almost every minute, she feels suffocated when Xavier’s face flashes through her mind.

She is already in love with Xavier. How could she turn her heart to another man because she knew the past!?

Iris didn’t know how long she had been standing near the window looking at the lonely moon.

She wanted to notify Xavier of her location. However, she didn’t know how to do that. There was no communication device she could use in this room.

In this luxurious room, Iris felt like she was in prison—under house arrest. She couldn’t do anything.

Xyronos was kind to her but didn’t allow her to leave the room. He even asked someone to send food to her room for lunch and dinner.

Iris didn’t fully accept being treated like this. She strongly refused. Several times, she begged him to let her go; she even threatened him, but it all just disappeared every time she got pissed off at him. Her heart didn’t seem to let her be angry with him.

She had no choice but to find a way to leave this luxury prison. Her gaze fell to the window before her, but she immediately dismissed the idea. She can’t use the window to get out because this damn window is locked tightly.

Even when she tried to break the glass, there was no visible crack — it seemed like it was made of bullet-proof glass. The windows in the bathroom are the same.

Iris could guess that Xyronos put a magic shield in this room to stop her from escaping. But she will not give up; she will try to find another way.

’Xyronos!! You’re such a jerk; how dare you kidnap me and force me to stay in this house?’ Iris scolded Xyronos in her heart, but not long after, her anger slowly disappeared again.

Her shoulders slumped when she realized that her heart really hadn’t forgotten that man. And she hated her heart.

’Iris, can you please forget him? You are a new person now. Your soul is also new. You don’t need your past!! You only need your life now...’ For the umpteenth time, she scolded her heart.

Lucian sat on a single couch. His eyes stared sharply at Xavier’s back, who was now standing by the window.

Looking, Xavier had been standing there for several hours, not saying anything, not even moving as if he had turned into a sculpture, making Lucian confused and worried at the same time.

A few times, Lucian was on the verge of speaking his mind. Still, he ultimately chose to remain silent, understanding that Iris’s disappearance must have torn apart Xavier throughout the past three days.

Lucian knows for sure that Xavier must be furious behind his calm mask.

However, something made Lucian confused; Xavier didn’t make a fuss about Iris’ disappearance. He didn’t even start looking for her as if he had allowed her to go.

It was too strange for him to see Xavier acting like now because usually, Xavier would get impatient if he didn’t see Iris for even a few hours. But it’s been three days, and he looks calm.

Lucian became suspicious. Iris was not missing but left the house because she fought with Xavier. Witnessing marital disputes in this lower realm is common. Many couples decide to separate due to differences in opinion.

However, Niles and Justin dismissed his suspicions. According to them, Iris and Xavier are not fighting at all; they are both still madly in love and can’t be separated by any means.

"Oh please, Xavier. Stop making me curious and afraid. Can we go looking for her? How long are you going to stand there doing nothing?"

After waiting a few seconds and Xavier not saying anything, Lucian continued his words.

"Are you sure you love her? It seems like you don’t care about her leaving. Did you two fight?" He let out a deep sigh before continuing. "Come on, Xavier, you’re not a teenager."

Not hearing Xavier respond, Lucian finally stood up from his seat. He joined Xavier, standing by his side.
