"I never intended to eradicate them. At that time, I sent Xavier to teach you so that you would return to the upper realm." Xiu said seriously.

"But he still killed them and forced them to run to this place, Father!" Xyronos’ voice shook with anger.

"That’s why I punished your dear brother. I sent him here and didn’t allow him to return home until now—" Xiu paused.

Having two sons with opposite personalities is quite a headache for Xiu. He had to try to be fair to both of them.

When Xiu saw Xyrono’s anger slowly fade, he continued, "My son, do you agree with this old man’s offer?"

A light flashes through Xyronos’ eyes when he stares back at his father. "Yes. But, father, you have to promise me. You can’t interfere with us like you did in the past!"

Xiu’s golden eyes slightly narrowed, his lips breaking into a smile before he said, "Son, do whatever you want to do, as long as you both don’t destroy this place and kill each other!"

Xyronos chuckled slightly while he nodded.

"And, you can’t force her. This time, let her decide. Whatever she chooses, you will accept it. Can you promise me that?"

A frown appeared on Xyronos’ face, and for a while, he seemed to be thinking about something deeply. He believed in Iris; if her memory returned, she would choose him over his brother.

"I promise you," Xyronos answered, looking at his father’s eyes sharply. "But, father, please also tell Xavier to do so."

Xiu clapped his hands happily, hearing Xyronos’ words. He stood up from his seat and slowly walked by the huge glass window, looking at the scenery outside.

After a few more seconds, he turns to see Xyronos. His lips curled up to form a smile, "Don’t worry, he already promised me. You know your brother; he never breaks his word."

Xyronos was slightly surprised. He didn’t think that his plan would go smoothly like this. He no longer needed to worry about carrying out what he had planned.

"Anything else you want to ask?"

"No. I don’t have a question, but I have something to remind you, father," Xyronos paused when he saw his father frown.

"Go on, tell me."

"Demon races are the same as humans or other creatures. You created them with a unique nature, manipulated. But believe me, they are only carrying out their duty and nothing else," Xyronos’s voice turns serious.

He continues his words, "They never cross the line to hurt others. Although some commit crimes, you cannot say they are evil beings, Father..."

Xyronos never intended to Become the Demon Kings. But he couldn’t let this race perish just because others thought they were evil creatures and wanted to exterminate them.

At first, Xyronos only wanted to help them, but in the end, he became their king, and he couldn’t stop because he started to think of himself as one of the Demon race.

"I understand," Xiu smiles at his son, and with a blink, he appears right before Xyronos. He let his son stand before him before he placed his hand on his shoulders.

"I will return to the upper realm. You finish your business here and come back there looking for me. Something important is waiting for you there, my child." Xiu gently taps Xyronos’ shoulder.

Xyronos was surprised to hear his father’s words. However, just before Xyronos wanted to ask his father, he saw his father slowly disappear with a smile.

"Don’t disappoint your father—" This was his father’s last sentence that he could hear.

"Don’t worry! This time, I will not disappoint you, father!" A slight grin spread across Xyronos’ lips.

After seeing his father leave, Xyronos sat back in his chair, thinking about his next plan. After a moment, he looked towards the door, sensing his assistant, Sebastian, still waiting outside.

"You may come in now—" Xyronos said.

Soon, the door opened. Sebastian walked in with curiosity flashing through his eyes; he seemed to look at someone worriedly.

"You don’t need to look at him; he’s gone. Seat! I have an important task for you to do immediately."

"Your Grace, I am ready to carry your orders."

Xyronos gives Sebastian his order about his plan. Sebastian, who was listening in silence, was shocked. However, he couldn’t say anything; he could only nod, confirming that he would complete his assignment.

"Do you have a question?"

"No, your grace. I understand and will carry out the task."

"Fantastic! You might do that now and ensure everything is ready before I return. I have to go back to Eric’s body now..." Xyronos said while closing his eyes.

Iris looked happy to see Xavier and Eric sitting in the living room. She also saw Lucian seated in the corner on the single sofa.

Seeing Xavier casually chatting with Eric, she feels relieved. At least Eric was not yet possessed.

Iris worries that Eric will get hurt if the person possessing Eric fights with Xavier. The thought of Eric getting hurt again made her heartache.

"Oh, you come..." Eric was the first to see Iris. "Why are you standing there, sis? Come join us."

Iris smiled at Eric. She entered the living room and settled beside Xavier after politely greeting Lucian, who only returned her greeting with a slight nod.

"Where have you been early in the morning?" Iris asked Xavier.

"We were just driving around the town. Your brother has never been in town. While I had time, I took him driving around..." He said while smoothing her hair lovingly.

Iris couldn’t help but smile. She knew it was just Xavier’s excuse.

"Darling... you can accompany Eric now. I’m going somewhere with Lucian."

"Where?" Iris was curious.

Xavier brought his face closer to hers and whispered close to her ear, "Hunting. That guy likely won’t possess Eric, so I’ll try to look after him."

Iris’ face turned tense upon hearing his words.

’My darling wife, don’t worry... if that person tries to possess Eric, I’ll know and return immediately.’ Xavier talked through her thoughts when he could feel how tense she was.

She slightly nods to respond to him.

’Just pretend you don’t know anything if you feel something strange about Eric.’

’Hmm, I will....’
