Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife
Chapter 258: Gateway To The Middle Realm

Chapter 258: Gateway To The Middle Realm

A few days later.

Iris remained in her room for three nights, barely getting out of bed. She just went to the bathroom to clean herself if needed.

Even when she eats, she eats on the bed. Xavier didn’t allow him to come out as they spent most of their time there.

Whenever she was tired after their wild intimate, Xavier would transfer his energy to her. She will return as fit and healthy as ever.

But she finally gave up last night as she needed to do something else outside. She has no choice besides warning Xavier that if he still lets her stay in bed, she will call his father to scold him.

...

Iris didn’t know what Xavier had given her last night, but she didn’t feel tired this morning. She woke up feeling refreshed.

However, despite her energy remaining the same, almost her entire body was covered in scars. When Xavier tries to heal her skin, she stops him. She wanted the scar to heal naturally.

"Xavier, where are you?" Iris called him when she didn’t see him in the room. After a few seconds of waiting, she didn’t hear his answer.

Just before she wanted to leave the bed to look for him, her eyes fell on a small note on the bedside table.

[My dear wife, sorry, I have something to do. I’ll be back before lunch. Love - X]

A smile appears on her lips while she walks to the bathroom to clean herself.

After changing her comfortable home clothes, she heard Justin’s voice from outside calling her name.

Iris opened the door and saw Justin in a yellow hoodie standing in front of her. His curious gaze made her a little uneasy because she could guess what he was thinking.

She silently cleared her throat before asking, "Yes, what’s up!?"

"Iris, hurry up. Your breakfast is ready," Justin said, narrowing his eyes and looking at her still-wet hair. "Ugh, do something to your hair first..."

Hearing ’breakfast,’ Iris suddenly felt her stomach rumble. She said nothing but went into her room again to quickly dry her hair.

When Iris arrived at the dining table, she was surprised to see the food neatly arranged there—all her favorites and still looking warm. As usual, even though so many dishes were placed there, only she could eat them all.

She glanced at Justin sitting across from her, who was now silently enjoying his blood beast juice. However, his eyes still stared at her, demanding an explanation.

"Just asking, Justin. No need to guess..." Iris shook her head and started to eat her fruit salad. The sourness and freshness were enough to awaken her appetite.

Iris has been bored of eating meat for the past three days; today, she only wants to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables.

’This is so delish!!’ Iris couldn’t help but praise the chef in her heart as she continued to finish her salad.

However, just before she wanted to eat another dish, Justin’s words halted her.

"Why did Xavier keep you in bed for three nights!?" His tone sounded curious.

Iris put down her cutlery and looked at Justin with mixed emotions. She opened her mouth several times, but no words came out of her lips. She was speechless.

She couldn’t possibly be so frank with him, right?

"Are you sick?" He asked again.

Iris could only nod to respond to his question.

"Oh my god!!" His eyes widened slightly. "So, what Niles and I thought was right... What is the disease that makes you unable to leave the room?"

Iris took another deep breath.

"Can you stop asking? I need to eat here..." Iris said and continued eating. She ignored Justin, who was still curiously waiting for her answer.

After a few minutes, Iris finally finished breakfast. She asked Justin to accompany her to visit Eric.

She was worried about Eric, as she had not seen him for several days.

"You can’t meet him. He’s been with Lord Xavier since morning."

Iris was stunned. She remembered the note Xavier had left her; he’d return before lunch. And now, it’s only nine in the morning. Where did they go?

"Xavier took Eric somewhere?"

"Well, Milady... I don’t know either. But I know that Lord Xavier always walks to the mountain’s peak every morning with Eric."

"They hike together every morning?"

"Yeah. Looks like your husband wants to know more about your brother," Justin chuckled. "Ah, today they are not going to the peak, but they took a car to go somewhere."

She knows Xavier’s intention to walk with Eric every morning; He must try to trap the person who possessed Eric’s body. That’s why he asked him to walk every day.

But now what worries Iris is, why did they not go to the forest!? And only return before lunch?

Has that person possessed Eric’s soul!?

"Justin, let’s walk to Eric’s cabin. I want to wait for him there."

Justin followed her and told her about a few things that happened in the past few days.

...

"Oh, Gavriel and Silvana are gone?" Iris was surprised and slightly sad because she hadn’t met them before they left.

"Yeah. Well, you don’t have to worry... Gavriel will occasionally come to visit us. But, for Silvana, she might not return for a while because she returned to the middle realm."

Instantly, Iris’s step stops as she looks at Justin. She was surprised to know Silvana had returned to Middle Earth. This is the first time she hears about someone from this realm returning there.

What makes her curious is how they go there. Did they teleport to go there or use a unique gate?

"So you guys can return there anytime?" She asked curiously.

"Of course. But we can’t go there whenever we want because only a few gates connect this and the middle realm..." explained Justin. "I don’t even know where the gate is. Only certain people know."

"Did Xavier know?"

"Absolutely! Lord Xavier is one of the people who knows that."
