Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife -
Chapter 259: Know How She Died
Chapter 259: Know How She Died
"Absolutely! Lord Xavier is one of the people who knows that." Justin answered.
Iris was curious to know where the gate was. Just before she wanted to ask him about the gate again, suddenly, something crossed her mind.
When they arrived at Eric’s cabin, she asked him, "Justin, you are also from Middle-earth. May I know which part of the realm you are from?"
Her knowledge about the Middle Realm was limited. She didn’t get anything about it from Xavier’s library.
Justin turned to look at her. He didn’t answer her right away.
Until now, he was still amazed that Iris came from Middle-earth, just like them. He thought this girl from this realm only got a blessing from God to be born again, but it turned out he was wrong.
"You remember your past in the middle realm?" he asked.
Iris took a deep sigh while shaking her head.
Justin feels sorry to hear she still has not gained her memories.
"Well, you already know that Middle-earth is vast, right? Much wider than this realm..."
"I know."
"The Middle Realm is separated by race, and I come from the Northern Kingdom. This is where the Vampire race lives."
"I see. How about the Grayland Kingdom? Have you heard about it?"
"Sure. That kingdom is big and has a significant role in the Middle Realm. Iris, I believe you are from there because you are a witch. Your race comes from the Grayland kingdom."
"Grayland Kingdom far from your place?"
"Yes, very far, and getting permission to enter Grayland Kingdom is difficult," Justin paused to smile when he saw her gasp in surprise. "The Middle Realm is different from this place. We can’t go to certain places with our ability to teleport unless we are a god or demigod. We could only go to other places using the teleportation gate."
"Wow, sounds interesting." Her eyes were beaming; imagine how vast the middle realm is.
"Indeed! That place can’t compare to this place. Damn!! I really miss that place. I wish Lord Xavier’s task in this realm finished so we can return there."
Justin took a deep sigh as he imagined his hometown. He has been here for thousands of years and never returned to where he came from.
"Have you visited Grayland Kingdom, Justin?"
"Of course. I visited that place a few times. You want to know about that place?" He smiled, looking at how curious she was.
Iris nods.
"I feel curious about that place because I have no memories of it at all. I hear that a powerful witch family rules the Graylands, right?"
Iris already knows from Lucian and Xavier that her family is the ruler of the kingdom. Still, she doesn’t want to tell other people, especially Justin, about her true identity as the princess of the kingdom of Grayland.
"Yes, you are right. The Grayland Kingdom is ruled by the strongest witch family in the land. The king has four children—" Justin paused, trying to recall his memories.
After a while, he looked at Iris with a frown. "Well, if I’m not mistaken, the kingdom had four children, and their first child was a girl. She was called Princess Iris—" He paused again when he realized something.
However, a second later, Justin shook his head. "—Ugh, no... no... It couldn’t be you because, as far as I know, Princess Iris had died long before we arrived in this lower realm."
Iris silently swallowed, hearing his words. This is the same info she heard from Lucian. She already died, and she was reborn again in this place. Now, she is eager to know more about how she died.
"Hahaha, you’re right... It can’t be me." She laughed to distract Justin from suspecting her. "Justin, I’m curious about Princess Iris. Why did she die? Isn’t she immortal?" she continues to ask.
Justin smiled. He turns away, his gaze at the mountains in the distance before he answers her, "I believe you already know. Even Gods can die, right!?"
"Hmm, I know."
"Well, even an immortal will die if they are killed."
Iris nodded, "You’re right. I already knew about that from a book I read some time ago. But I’m just curious: how did she die?"
Justin’s face darkened after hearing Iris’ question. He had time to explore Iris, "Princess Iris had a tragic fate. She was murdered..."
’S-Someone killed me?’ Iris’ hands clenched tightly after hearing about how she died. It was hard for her to believe someone killed her. She thought she died of illness or accident.
"How could a powerful witch die easily?" She asked while trying to hold her emotion.
Justin was stunned to hear her question. A frown appeared on his forehead as he narrowed his eyes at Iris.
"How did you know Lady Iris was a powerful Witch?" Justin asked suspiciously.
Iris couldn’t help but scold herself in her heart; she almost exposed herself.
"I’m just guessing. She is a princess and a firstborn from the powerful witch family; obviously, she is strong too, right?" She casually said.
Justin still narrowed his eyes on her. After a few more seconds, he nods, agreeing with her words.
"This is also a mystery for me. I never know who and why they killed her. But I’m sure that Lord Xavier knows the killer..." He said.
Iris was a little disappointed to hear that. She thought Justin knew who killed her.
Just as Iris wanted to ask about something, Justin continued his sentence, "As far as I know, Lady Iris died in the forbidden land."
"Forbidden land?" Iris was shocked to hear that. She remembers hearing from Lucian that the Demon race owned the Forbidden Land.
"Yes. That land belongs to the Demon Race. Because you died on that land, war was triggered. Your father claims the Demon Race kills you, and—" Justin suddenly stopped his sentence, realizing he had told Iris too much.
Justin didn’t know if he could tell Iris that Lord Xavier had eradicated the Demon Race.
However, Justin didn’t know; without his explanation, Iris knew Xavier was responsible for the Demon Race’s disappearance from the middle realm.
