Iris was surprised to hear that he already knew about her identity.

"Please tell me—" she said.

Iris remembered speaking with Lucian a few days ago, who revealed her true identity as a princess from the Grayland Kingdom in the middle realm. However, she hasn’t had the chance to share this news with Xavier yet.

Now, she is curious to know how much Xavier knows about this information.

"Iris, you already know we were engaged in the past, right?"

"Yes. I know."

Iris could feel her face warm, seeing his loving gaze. Even though her memories about her past life still had not returned, she was sure they must have been madly in love in the past.

"We were officially engaged back then. But," Xavier paused only to take a deep sigh. "—I know you agreed to engage with me because you were forced to. However, you must know I love you so much, but it seems you don’t feel the same way," his voice heavy with sadness.

As if lightning had struck Iris when she heard his words.

"Impossible!" She quickly interrupted him.

It was hard for Iris to believe that she didn’t love him. She remembers when she first met him in this realm; his charm attracted her.

Xavier smiled while gently pinching her cheek when he saw her doubt his words.

"I wish I could say that too. But that’s what happened. We were engaged because of your father. He is the one who forced you to marry me." Xavier stated.

He can’t hide this from her. He must tell her before she hears it from Xyronos.

"That time, you had no other choice but to follow your father’s wishes—"

"Wait... Wait, Xavier..." Iris stopped Xavier from continuing his words when she saw his eyes look miserable. "Even though I don’t remember what happened then, I’m sure I fell in love with you afterward, right?"

Xavier could only smile in response. His heart was aching. He couldn’t continue to tell her what happened in those days when he stole her from his little brother.

Upon receiving no response from Xavier, her mind wandered, imagining countless possibilities of her past life.

This is not the first time Iris has prayed to God to regain her memory. But still, her prayers were never answered; she still can’t remember.

Iris only knew about her past through what Lucian and Xavier told her. All the information she heard from them confused her even more. She wanted to learn more.

Sometimes, she felt like she wanted to split her brain and search for the memories of her past in the depths of her mind.

Looking at how miserable Xavier is now makes her worry.

"Xavier, listen..." Iris places her hand on his chin to make him look her in the eyes.

When their gaze met, she continued, "What happened in the past will remain in the past. I will see what happens to us now and in the future."

Xavier was surprised to see how sincere her words were now.

"I love you more than you can imagine, and you know it. So, please stop dwelling on the past. I promise I will never leave you just because of my past..." She smiled at him before leaning toward him and kissing his cold lips.

Xavier was taken aback by her sudden kiss. He could feel her warm lips make him unable to hold back, his ice-cold lips pried open her teeth, and his slightly chilly tongue entered her mouth as he kissed and sucked her tongue. Only when he felt her small hand push him did he slowly part his lips and tenderly look at her blushing face.

Iris’ breathing quickened as she saw him in the eyes, "I’m ready..."

"Ready?" Xavier repeated her words, confused.

Iris lowered her gaze to his chest, too shy with what she was thinking. "I’m ready to become one with you, Xavier. You don’t have to wait for me to remember my past."

"You want to have sex with me now?"

Her face flushed with redness after hearing such a vulgar word coming out from Xavier’s mouth, and he even said it with such a casual tone. She could only nod to answer him.

Xavier was surprised. All this time, he held himself to not making love with her because he was afraid he would harm her.

However, he still holds back after learning Iris’ identity, which allows them to take their intimate relationship to a higher level.

He wanted Iris to regain her memories first before they had sex. He didn’t want Iris to regret it one day if she knew about the truth.
