Chapter 255: Investigated Darkwood Group

Iris continues to tell Xavier about the peculiar thing about Eric. She didn’t hide anything from him. And, when she was finished, she saw him walk toward the bed and cast something in the air.

She didn’t know what he was doing but could guess he was now trying to wake up Eric.

Before long, Iris could see Eric awake with a frown on his forehead. He looks so confused looking around the room, but before his gaze fixes on Xavier, the time freezes.

Surprised she can still move, Iris looks at Xavier, who walks to her.

"Why did you stop time?" She asked curiously.

Xavier stepped away from her, "No one knows I’m here. I will wait for you in the house."

She nods at him.

He lifted her chin with his finger and gazed into her eyes. "Darling, please don’t keep me waiting too long." He leaned closer to kiss her lips, and he vanished.

After Xavier disappeared, time went back. Iris saw Eric wake up and sit on the edge of the bed. His eyes fell on her. Iris could see how confused Eric looked at her with just one glance.

"Hey, little sister, you finally came," Eric said with a bitter smile as he got up from the bed. "I apologize for falling asleep while waiting for your yacht to arrive. Let’s head outside to talk." He walked out of the bedroom, motioning for her to follow.

Iris follows him to the living room while thinking: who is the person she is talking to? She knew that person was not Eric but another person who possessed him.

Feeling curious, she tried to ask Xavier but couldn’t reach him through her mental connection. She put aside her curiosity momentarily when she saw Niles and the others sitting while talking.

"Hi, guys..." She greeted them all. But when she saw them put a worried gaze at Eric, she hurriedly warned them through their mind not to talk about it to Eric. She didn’t want Eric to be confused because he had met them and passed out on the dock.

"Glad to see you all guys come... I thought only Iris and Justin," Eric paused while looking at Justin. "Have you recovered, Justin?" he asked.

"Yeah. Thank you for asking, Eric..." Justin said while smiling at Eric.

After a short greeting, Iris asked Justin and the others to leave them. She needs to talk to Eric about something.

"How has life been on the island these past few months, Brother Eric? Has it been fun?" Iris asked. She wanted to know if he had felt anything strange in the last few months.

"Stay here; it’s quite fun. I enjoy it a lot. Paul and his family are also quite nice to me. I am getting close to them and considering them as my family..." He smiled, then looked at the sea that looked calm outside.

However, when he saw the sky slowly changing color, it shocked him, "Why does the sky look orange now?"

Iris followed Eric’s gaze, looking up at the sky. She could only smile inwardly before replying, "Because the sun is setting now..."

’Huh!? How could it be? I only took a short nap before...’ Eric mumbled. He didn’t believe Iris. Immediately, she looked at her watch and was shocked.

"What the hell!! Why did I sleep that long?" He said while looking at Iris in confusion. It was still evident in his mind that he fell asleep after finishing breakfast.

How could he wake up now after sleeping for hours!? This confused him.

Really confused.

"What time do you arrive?"

"Around 10 am—"

"Oh my god!! You should have woken me up, little sister..." He wants to scold himself for making Iris wait that long.

Iris was speechless. She couldn’t tell him the truth, that someone possessed his soul. Eric will be suspicious if he knows about it.

"I try to wake you up, but you sleep like a baby, brother," She randomly answers him.

Eric sighed deeply. He was still annoyed because he spent his entire day sleeping when he was supposed to talk and do many things with Iris.

"You will sleep here, right?"

"I’m sorry, brother... I can’t stay overnight here. I will go back in a few hours. I have something to do on the mainland."

Instantly, Eric’s face turns sour. If only he hadn’t ruined this day by sleeping too long, he would have had fun with her and the others.

Eric looked disappointed, and Iris felt sorry for him. Although she wanted to stay here longer, she couldn’t. She had plans with Xavier for tomorrow morning.

’Iris, you can invite him to visit our house,’ Xavier’s voice resonated in Iris’ mind. She smiled upon seeing Xavier standing in the room under his invisible barrier.

"Brother Eric, you can come along and stay at my house for a few days."

"Really!? Absolutely, I’ll go with you," Eric exclaimed happily.

While in one of the huge Villas in District Four, Xyronos opens his eyes. His usually light gold eyes turn slightly dark as if a dark flame is dancing in there. He looks so angry to know that Iris is already married.

With a wide stride, he left the room and saw Sebastian and Jallen waiting for him.

"Your grace..." They both greeted him in horror and saw he was outraged.

"Everything is alright, your grace?" Sebastian asked while following Xyronos to the living room area.

Sebastian is so worried, looking at how angry Xyronos is now. He should have looked happy because he could finally see Lady Iris again after being separated for so long.

"Did you meet Lady Iris on that island?" Sebastian asked again after he saw Xyronos settle on the single couch.

Xyronos didn’t respond to Sebastian. He asked Jallen to leave before saying, "Find out who owns the Emerald Island."

Sebastian was taken aback hearing his words. Did he want to buy the island?

"If I’m not mistaken, the owner was the Darkwood family. Did you want me to buy that island?"

"No."

"Then, why did you ask about it, sir!?"

Xyronos gazed out the window and said, "That island belongs to Iris, husband—"

Sebastian gaped when he heard Xyronos’ words.
