Chapter 253: She Is Married?

"Brother, now... I believe you have lost some of your memories," Iris said, narrowing her eyes at him.

She didn’t hear his answer and continued, "Why, you ask again about them!? You already met them at Orion City a few months ago, brother."

Hearing about it, Xyrono’s face turns stiff because he can’t access Eric’s memories, so he doesn’t know about them at all.

He didn’t want her suspicions to grow toward him, so in a hurry, he adjusted his expression and laughed.

"Hahaha, oh dear Iris... you are right. Perhaps my memories are still messed up. I didn’t remember something unimportant like Justin and the others because I only remember my beautiful Iris..."

Iris, "..."

Though she was still suspicious of him, she told him about Gavriel and Niles again.

"Gavriel is my friend. He helps me a lot with my work. Mmm... As for Justin and Niles, they are my husband’s right-hand man. And, my husband assigned Justin to become my personal assistant and bodyguard, so he will stay by my side whenever I–" Iris paused when he saw Eric’s face turn red as if all his blood now flowed under his face skin.

Afraid that something had happened to him, Iris slowly raised her hand and placed it on his face. She felt her hand burn like she had touched a hot coal. She quickly pulled it back.

"Are you alright, brother Eric!? Why does your face feel burning?"

Xyronos didn’t say anything. He was too busy suppressing his anger when he discovered she was married. Something he didn’t expect at all. He never imagined his woman once again stolen by someone. His hands were clenched tightly, with a sharp gaze at her.

"Brother Eric, can you stop acting weird? Your attitude looks so off! I feel scared because of your expression. Please, say something!" At once, a wave of fear washed over Iris’ heart. The thought that Eric might have the side effects of his illness settled deep within her.

Xyronos, still angry upon learning of Iris’ marriage, forced a smile as he looked at her.

’How could she get married so fast!?’ This really confused him. What he knew this earlier year was that she was still single and had no close male friends apart from Eric.

’How could she say she is married! With whom?’ Xyronos wanted to ask her countless questions, but somehow, he lost the ability to say something. As if a black hole appeared in his mind — anything he wanted to say vanished.

Iris was getting annoyed when she saw him remain silent. "Alright... if you don’t want to say something, I will return to the mainland!" She was about to stand up, but suddenly, Eric’s hand stopped her.

She grinned at him, feeling relieved that he was about to say something.

"Where’s your husband? Why didn’t he come with you?" Xyronos could ask what he needed to know. Who is the man that can entice her in a short time?

Iris was stunned just by hearing his question. Why, he asked again!?

"Gosh, brother... Are you seriously not remembering my husband? Or you only want to tease me!?"

Iris feels the need to call Silvana to check on him. This man seriously looks weird. What worries her the most is that there’s a side effect on Eric because Silvana casts strong magic to hide his damaged face.

"No. I didn’t remember about him. Not even a bit," Xyronos has managed to push his anger back to his chest.

He was angry because he didn’t know anything about her. After possessing Eric’s soul, he attempts to read Eric and Iris’s memories, but for an unknown reason, he cannot fully grasp their thoughts or see their past.

If only his power had returned wholly, he would easily read her past and thoughts. He doesn’t have to feel curious about her husband’s identity.

At this moment, Xyronos’s anger toward the person who stole Iris from him can’t be described. He would kill the person, for real, if he knew his identity.

Now, he feels curious whether her husband is human or similar to Justin and the others.

"You already met him a few times. You even stay at his house in Orion City. And he actually owns this island. His name—" Iris can’t finish her words as she hears Justin’s voice from behind.

She looked back and saw Niles and Gavriel also approaching them.

"Are you guys having fun snorkeling?" Iris smiled at them.

"Yeah, quite fun," Justin answered. "But it would be fun if you joined us, Iris."

"Yeah, I wish I could join you guys, but—" Iris can’t finish as she hears Niles shout.

"What’s wrong with him?" Niles ran toward Eric when he saw his body fall.

Iris was shocked.

"Br-Brother!?" Looking at how pale Eric’s face was, she felt scared. He looks at Niles, "Please, bring him to his cabin." She stood up and followed Niles to Eric’s cabin.

Justin and Gavriel are also shocked; they are now waiting outside Eric’s cabin, curious to know.

"What happened to Eric? Why did he faint?" Justin asked, but Gavriel couldn’t answer him. He also didn’t know. "Should you do something, Gavriel?" Justin continues his words.

"I do. But, I guess Niles can handle it..."

Inside the cabin.

Iris stood near the bed while looking at Niles to check Eric’s condition. She didn’t say anything, afraid it would distract Niles.

However, Iris was busy thinking about why Eric suddenly fainted. This is the first time Eric has lost consciousness after he woke up from his semi-coma several months ago.

’This is not good!! Eric must be experiencing the side effects...’ She wondered while trying to suppress her worry. Her gaze focuses on Eric.

Before long, she finally saw Niles stand up and look at her.

Iris can’t help but ask, "Do we need to call Silvana to check on his condition?"

Niles shook his head. "No need. After I checked his condition, there was no problem with him."

"Are you serious?" Iris doubts his answer.
