And today’s incident convinced him the Demon King seems to know that his wife is Lady Iris from the middle realm. This made him frustrated.

So many events had happened in such a short period, enough to leave Xavier feeling fatigued. He hadn’t experienced this weariness in centuries and disliked it a lot.

The last time he felt this drained was during his battle with the Demon King, a battle he distinctly remembers winning. He killed that devil.

’Why has he resurfaced now? Could he have split souls hindering his defeat?’

"Really?" Iris felt reassured, yet a faint doubt lingered. She needed to see Justin to confirm Xavier’s words—perhaps he sought to comfort her.

"Justin is under Silvana’s care now." Xavier gradually released his embrace, his fingers lifting her chin to meet her eyes. As he gazed into her eyes, he could discern a sense of relief within them.

"Do you want to see him?" he offered.

She nodded hurriedly, discarding the blanket still covering her nearly naked body. As her body was exposed, a question sprang to her mind.

Looking at Xavier, she asked, "Mmm... did you undress me?"

Xavier frowned at her question. However, seconds later, a smile appears on his face as he gently pinches her cheek. Seeing her beautiful brow furrow, he responded, "Of course. Who else would have done it? I won’t allow anyone to see you like this, my love..."

Iris swallowed nervously. Sensing his gaze lingering on her chest, she darted to the bathroom, feeling shy.

Feeling refreshed after cleaning and showering, Iris teleported to her walk-in closet and put on her comfortable home clothes.

As she was about to dry her hair, her stomach growled, causing her to be embarrassed to hear that sound.

"Looks like we should skip dinner today, Iris," she warned herself, unwilling to eat in the middle of the night and risk gaining weight — She has gained weight after Xavier constantly feeds her so many dishes every time she eats.

After ignoring her stomach growl, she dried her still-wet hair with a dryer.

However, a few seconds later, Iris paused again when she heard Xavier’s voice, "Iris, are you done?"

Turning to the door, she answered him, "I’m drying my—" Xavier appeared behind her before she could finish.

"Let me do it," he offered, taking the hair dryer from her hand. "I’ll do it quickly so you can eat your late dinner."

"I didn’t plan on eating now. It’s too late for a meal. I’ll skip dinner," she protested. However, when she sees his eyes in the mirror, she immediately nods, agreeing.

Next morning.

When Iris opened her eyes, her first thought was to visit Justin. She hadn’t managed to see him last night, prompting her decision to go today.

Standing outside Justin’s room, Iris felt a rush of nerves. Xavier had revealed the reality of Justin’s condition the night before, and knowing the existence of such an illness had been challenging for her.

Beside her, Xavier tightly gripped her hand, offering silent support. "Are you ready?" he asked.

She nodded, "Yes, I’m ready." Her voice sounded calm, but not her heart.

When the door opened, Iris gripped Xavier’s hand tighter and followed him towards the bed. She saw Justin still sleeping soundly as if nothing had happened to him.

’Is he really sick?’ Iris asked Xavier through his mind. ’Why does he look healthy!?’ She was puzzled.

’He will cry when thirsty,’ Xavier replied while placing a hand on Iris’s shoulder. ’You will see if he wakes up.’

"My Lord, My Lady..." Silvana greeted Xavier and Iris when she noticed them. "Milady, I’m glad you weren’t injured in yesterday’s attack."

"Thanks, Silvana." Iris smiled at her, happy to hear her concern. "How is Justin’s condition this morning?"

"Not much changed. His condition is still the same as last night. He sleeps a lot, like a newborn baby..." Silvana chuckled at the thought of an adult body like Justin acting like an infant.

"Do you need my help, Silvana? I can help if you need me," Iris offered to help. Knowing how terrible Justin’s condition is makes her feel guilty about Justin getting injured because of her.

Since last night, Iris hasn’t stopped blaming herself. If only she hadn’t left Justin alone, this accident wouldn’t have happened.

"There aren’t any at the moment, Milady. But if there is, I’ll let you know." Silvana answered.
