Chapter 218: Someone Attacked Iris and Justin!
Iris needed to uncover what happened to Justin earlier and why he had ended up like this.
She took a deep breath before delving into Justin’s mind. However, as she tried to explore, she felt like someone was attacking her brain. She felt like there was a black hole in her brain that wanted to pull her there.
Her blood ran cold as she tried to pull away, stopping her exploration of Justin’s thoughts. However, she failed. She couldn’t do that. Instead, she experienced nameless pain that she had never felt before like her head was about to explode.
Unable to endure the excruciating pain, she gripped her hair tightly. Moments later, her knees weakened, and her breathing turned shallow.
...
"I-Iris... what happened??" Gavriel shouted as he noticed Iris’s face turning pale as if draped in snow, her lips tinged with purple. He didn’t get any response from her; only a howl in pain escaped through her lips, frightening him.
"Damn it!" Gavriel cursed while summoning his invisible phone. He hastily dialed number one.
"Lucian!! Iris... something happened to her—" Before Gavriel could finish his words, he sensed a powerful aura approaching rapidly from behind.
Instantly, he could feel his body being lifted. Before he had time to look at the source of the force, his body moved on its own, being pulled back several meters at a speed that the human eye could not follow. He was already several tens of meters away from the car in just a few seconds.
Gavriel was shocked when he found himself unable to move as if someone more powerful than him had seized control of all his limbs. Despite his efforts to resist, he feels helpless.
Horror enveloped Gavriel as a black shadow crossed him. He worries about Iris’ safety, feeling powerless and angry at his inability to help her. All he could do was witness her collapse on the ground, clearly in pain, holding her head.
’Damn it!? Why hasn’t Lucian arrived?’ Gavriel cursed, attempting once more to summon his invisible phone. But before he could dial Lucian’s number, his eyes finally clearly saw the black shadow that had passed earlier.
"L-Lord Xavier..." Gavriel muttered in relief, watching Xavier carrying Iris in his arms. Soon after, he saw a black angel landing beside Xavier. "Finally, Lucian..."
After his body could move again, Gavriel dashed towards them to check on Iris and Justin’s condition.
"What happened to Iris? Is she okay?" Gavriel asked. He was worried when he saw Iris lying motionless in Xavier’s arms — Her face still looked pale, and so did her lips. It’s turning purple.
Gavriel glanced at Justin, "Lucian... What happened to Justin?" he asked.
Once again, he got the silent treatment from them. But then, he realized that Xavier and Lucian were communicating through their minds. He didn’t press them with his question again but waited until they shared with him what really happened.
Later, Lucian’s wings vanished from his back. Then, he walked toward Justin and placed his hand on Justin’s forehead. Nobody spoke when Lucian did that.
Xavier and Gavriel waited silently, but their eyes flashed with worry, waiting for the result.
Before long...
Lucian finally opened his eyes and turned to see Xavier.
"Xavier, what you said earlier was indeed true. Someone tries to check Justin’s memories," Lucian sighed deeply.
He continues. "Justin fought that person, didn’t want that person to retrieve his memories, and because his opponent was more powerful than him, he became like this, as clueless as someone who didn’t have a brain. All his memories are erased. He couldn’t speak and couldn’t use his bodily functions, like a newborn baby."
Gavriel was shocked beyond words hearing Lucian’s explanation. He never imagined Justin would suffer like this.
Xavier gnashed his teeth, wanting to tear apart whoever did this to Justin. But he can’t do it now because he has to take care of his wife first. He put his revenge aside but swore he would find the person responsible for this, even if he had to turn the lower realm upside down until he discovered that person.
"Can you help him?" Xavier asked calmly, suppressing his anger.
"I’m sorry, my dear friend, I can’t," Lucian shook his head faintly. "But perhaps Silvana could help him," Lucian said while glancing at Iris.
"How about her? Why was she in pain like that? Did that person attack her?" Lucian asked, confused.
Xavier shook his head slowly.
"No trace of that person who did this to them. He has long left this place. However, he places a spell on Justin’s body. When Iris tried to read Justin’s mind, that spell attacked Iris with the same intention, wanting to get Iris’ memories," Xavier explained—confused because that person seemed to target his wife.
Lucian and Gavriel were stunned.
"Just like what happened to Justin, Iris also resisted the spell, but because the person who left the spell was no stronger than when he cast it, my wife didn’t suffer like Justin. But she needed to rest. I also needed to check her condition more carefully..." Xavier paused while closing his eyes as if he were communicating with someone.
Not long after, three people with apparent solid strength appeared not far from them.
Xavier glanced at them.
"Niles, bring Justin back to my place and contact Silvana to check Justin’s condition. She needs to heal Justin immediately..." Xavier command.
Niles immediately carried out Xavier’s orders and disappeared with Justin.
After seeing Niles disappear, Xavier glanced at his twin guard, "I want you guys to hunt his aura..."
Xavier waved his hand toward the twin guard— sending the suspect remnant aura left in Iris’s body and Justin’s—before he continued his words. "If you find that suspicious aura, you must immediately notice me. Don’t do anything because that person might be stronger than you both."
"Yes, Milord." They both said and vanished from that place.
After talking to Lucian for a while, Xavier glanced at Gavriel. He could feel how devastated Gavriel was now. He decided to bring Gavriel to his house to ask him further.
