Chapter 199: We Will Be Together Forever!

Iris swallowed slowly as her inner thoughts emerged. Something that often came up when they first started their relationship.

’Is he going to turn me into a Vampire!?’ Her eyes shone with anticipation for the moment when Xavier might turn her into a vampire.

She gathered information online and discovered she could only be with him forever by becoming a vampire.

For Iris, she didn’t mind if Xavier wanted to do that. She had no family to worry about if she wasn’t human anymore.

"Xavier, you mean... you will turn me into a Vam—" Her words trailed off when Xavier’s slender finger landed on her lips, sealing her lips.

"No, I would never do that. There is another way, but I can’t tell you now." He said firmly.

Iris felt a tinge of disappointment upon hearing that. She wanted to say something but couldn’t manage words; she could only stare at him silently.

"Iris, one day, you’ll become immortal without needing to change like me. But I need you to be patient because I require time to make that happen," Xavier said, smiling at her.

Her eyes glowed as she looked back at him before saying, "Xavier, I don’t mind if you want me to become a vampire. As long as I’m with you... I’m willing to do anything."

No words came out of Xavier’s mouth. He was simply shocked by what he heard. He looked at her, trying to discern if she was joking or serious about her statement.

After a few moments, Xavier finally responded to her statement, saying, "Iris, don’t joke about something like this. How could you change like me? I won’t allow it..."

His gaze was firm as if he wanted to make it clear that he couldn’t agree to her desire to become a vampire.

"Why?" Iris asked, feeling a slight disappointment at his refusal. "If I became a vampire like you, it would make us equals. You wouldn’t have to worry about me being weak, and we could be together officially." She blushed as she imagined their intimacy.

Xavier took a deep breath before explaining, "Do you realize that becoming like me means you won’t be human anymore? Your heart won’t beat, your body will be forever cold, and, as a woman, you won’t be able to have children anymore."

Iris lowered her gaze in surprise. She hadn’t imagined the consequences would be so significant. All she had in mind was simple: she wanted to stand with him as equals, without too much difference between them.

Xavier chuckled, noticing her silence.

"Iris, do you love me?" Xavier had never heard this girl express her love for him openly. Somehow, he wanted to listen to it now.

Iris was taken aback by his question. Slowly, she raised her head to meet his gaze. Her heart began to beat faster than usual when she saw his bright golden eyes staring back at her.

"Hmm, I love you..." She said shyly, in a voice barely audible. But Xavier could clearly hear it, sounding melodious to his ears.

"Me too, Iris. I love you too," he said, feeling as if he were flying on cloud nine after her confession. He gently raised his hand, touching her cheek and stroking it with his thumb before continuing, "I will find a way for us to be together forever without you having to change like me. Trust me!"

Xavier was thrilled with his thought. Suppose Iris was indeed Lady Iris, as Lucian mentioned, from Middle Earth. In that case, it might be possible for them to unite without her becoming a vampire.

But unfortunately, Xavier wasn’t confident about her status. He needed to hear directly from God to know Iris’s true identity.

Iris felt immense happiness upon hearing his words. She could only gaze silently at the lights of passing vehicles in the distance while hiding her joyful smile.

"Alright, Milady... It’s almost past midnight. It’s time for you to rest," Xavier’s voice surprised her. She looked at him and nodded.

Even though she wanted to spend the night with him, she was only an ordinary human; she needed rest, or she might get sick.

A week flew by swiftly.

Throughout this past week, Iris visited the mansion almost daily to see Eric. During her visits, she occasionally chatted with Doctor Silvana, who explained the details of Eric’s improving health. If all goes well, perhaps Eric will wake up today.

Iris was full of enthusiasm. The sun hadn’t risen yet, and she was already awake. Xavier could only shake his head upon hearing Iris’s request to skip breakfast and head straight to the mansion.

"Darling, relax," Xavier stopped her from leaving the bed. "If Eric wakes up, we can go there immediately. You can just teleport..." He reminded her and gently pulled her to rest beside him.

Iris chuckled at herself. What Xavier said was true. She just needed to blink, and they would be at the mansion. She silently smiled as she nestled into his cold embrace, trying to close her eyes. Despite being awake, she enjoyed his faint masculine scent and his cold body.

Soon after, Iris heard Xavier’s calm voice from above her head, "I heard from Justin, you got a new assignment?"

Her eyes lit up, recalling the text she received the previous night. "Hmm, I received it last night. It seems like I have to return to Country K. My target is in District Four," Iris explained.

"I’ll take you there," Xavier offered. "When are you heading there?"

"After Eric wakes up. I need to talk to him before I start my assignment. Luckily, Lucian gave me five days to complete this task. So, I have plenty of time."

"Alright. Take your time. I’ll ask Justin to return to District Four before we leave. You can give him your target’s name, and he can investigate for you before your arrival."

"That’s a great idea," Iris smiled, eager to finish this assignment and earn her rewards. She hoped to regain new abilities.
