Chapter 192: Erase His Memories

Chapter 192: Erase His Memories

When Xavier and Iris reached the Mansion, Iris wasn’t surprised to find Justin and Gavriel chatting. The two had grown close since their last meeting in District Four.

Iris chose not to greet them. Instead, she decided to visit Eric’s treatment room first, intending to join them later.

Upon entering Eric’s treatment room, Iris noticed Silvana chanting something toward Eric’s body.

She decided to wait near the door with Xavier, careful not to disturb Silvana’s healing process.

Communicating with Xavier through their mental connection, Iris asked, ’Xavier, is there a library in this mansion?’ She smiled when she saw his frown. ’I need to find a book about magic,’ she continued.

’Why?’ Xavier inquired.

’I feel curious after you mentioned, I have the talent. But I’ve never had any prior knowledge of magic in my life. I didn’t even believe in this sort of thing before,’ she confessed. ’I only started to believe in magic after God gave me this second chance.’

Xavier smiled, taking her hand. ’Darling, I have a library on the third floor of this house. I’ll take you there later. However, I’m unsure if there’s a book related to magic.’

’That’s okay. I’ll take a look,’ Iris replied with a smile. As she spoke, Silvana finished her work.

Noticing them, Silvana immediately approached, offering polite greetings to Xavier and Iris.

"Milord, Milady... I apologize. I didn’t know of your arrival," Silvana said, stopping a few steps before them and giving a slight nod. However, her eyes remained fixed on Iris. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this woman was the same person she had seen in the past.

But Iris was distracted, eager to see Eric, which caused her not to notice Silvana’s curious gaze.

"How’s his condition? Any progress?" Xavier asked.

Meanwhile, Iris had already walked toward the bed. She was surprised by what she saw—Eric’s face had returned to normal, though he still looked pale and his eyes tightly closed.

"Xavier, it worked. His wound vanished. I don’t see any injury on his face," Iris said happily, glancing at Xavier and Silvana, who had joined her by the bed.

"Milady, this is all I can do for now until I find the medicine that can completely cure him," Silvana explained.

Iris gazed at Silvana with a mix of gratitude and surprise. Knowing there was still a chance for Eric’s recovery thrilled her.

"Thank you, Doctor. I’m very grateful for what you’re doing for him right now. But, earlier, you mentioned... he could recover if you get the medicine?" Iris asked.

Silvana was taken aback, realizing she had spoken too hastily before Iris. The medicine she referenced was not from this place but from her origin in the middle realm. Currently, obtaining the medicine is impossible.

She scolded herself inwardly before responding to Iris, "Milady, I meant the ingredients for making the medicine."

Silvana glanced briefly at Xavier, seeking permission to explain more details to Iris.

Seeing Xavier shake his head, she understood not to continue further.

"Doctor, please tell me what ingredients you need. I’ll help and search for them," Iris said eagerly. Finding the ingredients sooner meant Eric could heal faster.

"Iris," Xavier intervened, placing his hand on her shoulder. He continued when she glanced at him, "I’ve already taken care of that. Don’t worry, I’ll assist Doctor Silvana in finding what she needs..."

Iris nodded, aware of Xavier’s capability in this matter.

"Thank you, Xavier," she said softly.

Xavier nods at her before continuing, "However, you have to understand this won’t be easy. Even if we obtain the ingredients and create a medicine, Eric will still take a long time to recover."

Iris was stunned. Her shoulders drooped slowly upon hearing his words.

"I understand," Iris smiled at Xavier, although her smile didn’t quite reach her eyes. Then, she turned to Silvana, "Doctor, when do you think he will wake up?"

"Perhaps in a few more days. I want his organs to function healthily and normally. So, in other words, I want him to wake up a hundred percent fit," Silvana explained.

Suddenly, something occurred to Iris. She looks at Xavier, "Will Eric remember the suffering from when he was tortured?"

"No. I’ve erased those memories. He won’t recall the ordeal or the suffering he endured," Xavier replied.

"Ugh, thank God..." Iris said. However, in her heart, she felt a little disappointed because she wouldn’t be able to know what happened at that time.

She wanted to know why the Demons had tortured Eric. Yet, if Eric remembered, he’d be aware of his severe condition.

...

After further discussion about Eric, they eventually left the treatment room.

However, Iris didn’t head straight to the library; she wanted to meet Gavriel.

They made their way toward the living room. But, before they arrived, Xavier excused himself to go somewhere, mentioning he might not return until evening. He didn’t disclose his intention to visit Lucian.

"Xavier, wait..." Iris called out before he departed.

"Yes?"

"I’ll go back to the apartment after I’m done here. I need to work in my computer room," she explained.

"Okay. But don’t go outside. Just stay at home," Xavier cautioned, knowing that several Demons and powerful beings were still present in the city.

If Iris stayed home, she would be safe because an invisible magic barrier shielded their apartment and this Mansion. No one could enter without Xavier’s knowledge or permission.

"Hmm... I will," Iris replied with a smile. "I’ll wait for you at home. Goodbye." She waved and walked towards the living room.

...

Surprisingly, Justin and Gavriel stood up as she entered, both taken aback to see her.

"Oh, you’re here!?" Justin approached her. "We were just about to enjoy coffee at a fancy cafe near Silver River. Do you want to join us?"

"No! Xavier asked me to stay and not to go anywhere. But you can go by yourself, Justin," Iris replied, then turned to Gavriel. "There’s something I’d like to talk to you about. Can we chat for a moment?"

"Sure," Gavriel nodded. Before returning to his seat, he glanced at Justin, "Man, you can go by yourself. I need to talk to Iris. This is important."

"Sure!" Justin said casually, even though inwardly, he felt a bit disappointed.

’Milady, you just stole my friend. How could I go to the cafe alone?’ He walked off toward his room.
