Chapter 176: Return To Country Z
Chapter 176: Return To Country Z
"Where do you want to go?" Xavier’s voice from the door snapped Iris out of her thoughts.
Glancing at him briefly before explaining, "I want to return to my country. It’s difficult for me to locate Eric using this laptop. I need my high-tech computer in my house there. But I’m also afraid that if I go there now, someone might notice me when I enter the country."
"Why are you worried? You can go with me there. We can teleport," Xavier walked inside and sat beside her. "Did you forget? I can teleport wherever I want on this Earth."
Iris couldn’t help but smile, looking at his proud gaze.
"Well, Mr. Darkwood, of course... I remember. You brought me to Switzerland to see my Grandma," she chuckled.
"You don’t have to worry about someone noticing you because you enter that country through the back door."
She nodded.
"Xavier, can you teleport to a specific place?" Iris asked. It would be awesome if they could appear inside her house.
He shook his head before responding, "I can only appear in places I’ve visited before. But you don’t have to worry; I have visited almost every place on Earth, so visiting the country or city where your home is located would not be a problem for me..."
"Sounds good," Iris felt so excited. She wanted to go there immediately. Her mind couldn’t calm down until she had finished her revenge on Eric.
"Shall we go now?" She asked excitedly.
Initially, Xavier wanted to provide her with information about Eric; however, seeing the beaming sparks in her eyes made him restrain himself from revealing his findings.
After all, he also wanted to see where she lived, her hometown. This was his opportunity before this girl got busy again with her task.
"Okay, we can go now," Xavier smiled at her. "But let me talk to someone who will guard this house first." He needed to leave a few notes for Twin Guard, whom he had summoned from his Darkwood Villa.
"Sure."
After Iris saw Xavier walk outside, she prepared a few things to take to her house, like clean clothes and other essentials. She placed all of them in her space ring.
If the situation was safe, she planned to stay for a while in Orion City, the capital of Country Z. She hoped Xavier would grant her permission.
She had many plans to do in that city. Besides settling her revenge with Eric, she wanted to do something personal—erasing her trace as Iris Gray.

They arrived in Orion City just as the sun was about to rise. The morning temperature remained chilly, even though it was already summer.
Iris glanced at her surroundings and was surprised when they arrived at a strange place — a beautiful garden. Not far from where they stood, she could see a magnificent mansion typical of the 19th century.
She had never been to this place because such locations were usually reserved for the wealthy. Even she, considered to have a fair amount of money, couldn’t afford a mansion like this, a private residence in the city’s heart with such an expansive garden.
Iris knew how wealthy Xavier was, but she couldn’t help but ask, "Do you own this private mansion?"
"You’ve become my legal wife, so this is our place," Xavier smiled and then walked ahead, leaving Iris momentarily speechless at his words.
"Let’s go, darling. Someone is excited to see you here..."
"Someone I know? Who?" Iris quickly followed him. Before she could ask again, she was stunned to see Justin emerging from the mansion with a broad smile.
"My lord, Milady..." Justin greeted them with politeness.
Xavier didn’t bother responding. He only glanced at Justin and entered the house.
"Hi, Justin..." Iris smiled at him, curious as to how this man had already arrived at this location. She knew he could teleport, but not over long distances like Xavier. It would typically take him a few hours to come here.
"Why did you suddenly come here, Iris?" Justin asked him in his low voice.
Iris didn’t answer him; she entered the house and followed Xavier.
Once they arrived in the family room, which appeared spacious and grand, she responded to Justin’s question with one of her own, "Shouldn’t I be the one asking you? Why are you here?"
Justin was taken aback and struggled to provide an answer. He wasn’t supposed to disclose their findings about the fake Eric, who had killed her. And he is here to locate the real Eric. But he still can’t find that person. He is suspicious the Demon already killed that poor guy, Eric Hester.
"I’m on my summer vacation," Justin offered a random explanation. "I was getting bored staying in our country, so I came here. How about you?" he asked.
Iris could only inwardly laugh at his reason. She knew Justin was lying to her. It was impossible for him to go on vacation without informing her because his duty was to guard her unless Xavier had specifically asked him to come here.
However, as she hurried to return to her apartment, she put aside her curiosity regarding Justin. She would ask him again later.
She promptly joined Xavier in the seating area.
"Xavier, I know this is your house, but I have a reason to return here. I need to use my computer room, and I can’t stay here until I’ve finished finding Eric..." she said.
"I know. I brought you here because I was worried I might randomly appear in town and someone might see us." He was only making excuses. No one could see him teleport unless he allowed them to see.
"Thank you," Iris felt relieved knowing that Xavier wouldn’t force her to stay in this vast and unfamiliar place.
She immediately took her cell phone and checked the distance between this place and her apartment. After inputting the address into the maps tracker, she was stunned to see how close this place was to her house.
