Chapter 154: No Human Can Have Such Power
Chapter 154: No Human Can Have Such Power
At Darkwood Villa.
Justin and Niles, who have just returned home after working hard to erase Iris’ trace in this city, are shocked to hear the loud noise in the forest behind their house.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!!
"What the hell is that noise?" Justin looks in a specific direction through the windows.
"Boom!"
"Bloody hell, Niles... someone is attacking us!" Justin jumps from his seat, ready to teleport, but stops abruptly when he sees Niles doing nothing. Niles just sits on the couch while closing his eyes.
Justin frowns, looking at Niles. He can see that Niles seems relaxed. He even smiles!
"What’s happening, Niles? Why do you look relaxed? Let’s go! We should check the forest before Lord Xavier gets angry," Justin says, his voice sounding hurried. "Lady Iris would be shocked if she heard this noise."
Slowly, Niles’ eyes open, and his gaze meets Justin’s. A smile emerges from his lips before he says, "No need to check. It was Lord Xavier and Lady Iris—" He says calmly, but inside, he is confused by what he felt and heard.
He can feel the aura in the forest belonging to Lord Xavier and Iris. But why does Iris’ aura feel powerful, like she is one of them, a vampire?
Normal humans can’t have such power.
"L-Lady Iris? She already woke up?" Justin’s eyes light up at hearing that. His source of worries finally disappears. "Let’s go meet her," he says in a rush. He can’t believe what he heard until he sees her with his own eyes, that she’s okay.
"No need to go there. They are heading back," Niles stands from his seat and walks toward the windows overlooking the forest, the source of the noise that happened a few minutes ago.
Even though he can sense Lord Xavier’s power, Iris’s power puzzles him. When he tries to hear what happened there, the sounds suddenly vanish as if someone put a magic barrier that prevents noise from being heard.
"They have arrived," Niles says calmly. Then, he turns to look at Justin.
"I could hear..." Justin responds.
Niles doesn’t say anything but walks toward the stairs before saying, "I will go to the kitchen. Lady Iris needs to eat her dinner."
Justin simply nods at Niles. At this moment, he is puzzled. Countless questions now fill his mind.
"Why did Lord Xavier show his true strength to Iris?"
"Did he already tell Iris about us, vampires?"
This confusion plagues him, and he wants to ask Lord Xavier but prevents himself. He doesn’t want to anger Lord Xavier, or he might face punishment again—something he would never do in the future.

Meanwhile, on the third floor,
Iris couldn’t hide her happiness. Her smile had not disappeared from her beautiful face since they left the forest after she tested her new power and ability.
"Are you that happy?" Xavier asked as he knelt before her, helping her remove her shoes.
Iris was stunned, but she didn’t refuse his sweet gesture. She only smiled before saying, "Hmm, this power is awesome. And the new ability too..." She said excitedly. "Thank you, Xavier..." She added after Xavier stood up again in front of her.
He smiled while gently ruffling the hair on top of her head.
Seeing how kind and sweet Xavier was to her made Iris completely forget that he was a vampire who could kill a human like her with just one blink.
"Alright, go change your clothes. Your dinner is ready..." Xavier said, leading her toward her bedroom door.
Iris nodded and immediately went into her room.
When Iris saw her face in the mirror, she could only pat her cheeks with both hands, trying to calm herself down with what was happening to her.
A lot had happened today.
She regained consciousness after sleeping and healing. She heard from Xavier that he gave her a magic pill that could make her internal wound heal faster.
Even now, she still found it difficult to understand that there was a medicine that could heal bone fractures quickly. In just three days, she had recovered, and as a side effect, she had gained superpowers.
Furthermore, she felt relieved. Finally, she had told him about her secret. For some reason, now she felt like the heavy burden on her shoulders had disappeared. She didn’t need to lie to him anymore.
And she also now knows Xavier’s true identity. There were so many things she wanted to ask Xavier about himself. Still, she had to put that aside for now because the highest priority for her was filling her stomach.
After three days, she hadn’t eaten anything. She felt like all her muscles were protesting. She was famished!
She quickly grabbed a hoodie and tights, put on her clothes, and styled her hair into a messy bun before rushing out of the room.
...
Iris was surprised to see Xavier leaning against the wall. His loving gaze somehow could stir her heart instantly.
"Are you done?" He asked and stepped forward.
"Hmm," She said. "I’m so hungry..."
"They’ve already served your dinner," Xavier said, offering his hand to her. When Iris touched his cold hand, they suddenly vanished from the third floor and appeared in the dining room.
Iris wanted to ask him about many things, especially something bothering her since she moved into his house: why couldn’t she teleport freely inside the house? But the aroma of the food distracted her.
And when her gaze fell on Justin and Niles in the corner, instantly, she forgot what she wanted to ask.
Iris swallowed hard, imagining that these two men were so powerful; even though she was also powerful now, she was not a threat to them.
"Hi, Niles... Justin," She greeted them with her awkward smile.
"Iris, you can talk to them later," Xavier’s cold voice suddenly came from behind. "You need to eat first," he said, pulling out a chair for her.
Iris nodded.
She sat down. Only then did she realize that there was only one serving on the table, only for her.
