Today was her only chance.

It seemed the universe had favored her as she had encountered this girl here. She couldn’t afford to let this opportunity slip away; she needed to taste her blood.

Iris was perplexed. Her desire to assist this woman clashed with her suspicions and confusion.

How could she possibly know the way to Gray Cafe?

She tried to recall the directions based on the young Iris’s memories.

After a few more seconds, Iris offered, "Miss, you can head in this direction," gesturing forward. "Just a few meters ahead, you’ll spot the only building. From there, you’ll reach the main road..." She explained before turning her gaze back to the woman.

However, Iris was shocked when she saw the woman’s unsettling smile and the sudden crimson hue of her eyes.

In an instant, a wave of fear enveloped Iris’s heart as she recalled Gavriel’s warning; one day, she might come face to face with creatures existing solely within the Fantasy world.

Now, she knew, she stood before one of those dreaded entities.

’Damn it! This woman is no mere human; she’s a devil,’ Iris thought.

Her senses were on high alert as she struggled to maintain a calm expression. Try to tell her mind that she might be wrong to doubt this woman’s identity.

"Miss, can you walk with me? I’m a little afraid to walk alone," Selina displayed her pearl-like teeth again, her crimson eyes flickering, intensifying Iris’s unease.

"I’m sorry... I cannot," Iris firmly rejected her while her body poised for an instantaneous teleportation back to her house. "I still have matters to attend to," she added.

Disappointment briefly crossed Selina’s face, only to be swiftly supplanted by a sinister smile followed by a wicked laugh.

"Hahaha..." Her laughter echoes through the quiet forest, causing several birds to scatter alarmingly.

Iris’s entire body tensed up. ’I can’t linger here!’ Her concentration shifted to teleportation, a desperate attempt to escape Selina’s sinister presence.

Selina relished the sight of her prey growing increasingly terrified. She likes it. However, knowing she struggled to manipulate the young woman’s mind, she stopped playing with her — she didn’t want to waste any more time.

Her head tilted slightly, and as she scrutinized Iris more closely, she observed her eyes gradually closing.

’Is she praying to God?’ Selina chuckled inwardly.

"Very well, girl, cease your prayers. God shall never come to help you now..." Selina said. She vanishes from her location, reappearing right before Iris.

Iris’s eyes snapped open, and she was taken aback to find the girl standing so close that she could sense the frigid aura emanating from her body.

’Damn it! Why did I fail?’ Iris thought, hastily retreating but nearly stumbling into a small pit.

Before the mysterious woman could move, Iris tried to teleport once more. However, this time, she could only move a few meters away from that woman, no matter how hard she strained to return home.

"What do you want? Who are you?" Iris shouted, summoning her golden gun. Without hesitation, she aimed it at the woman’s heart. "If you move, I might pull this trigger—"

Selina paid no heed to Iris’s threat. She was astonished to witness the girl’s teleportation abilities.

’Who is this girl? Why can she teleport?’ Selina wondered. Her curiosity grew with this young girl. Earlier, she had been unable to manipulate her mind, and now she witnessed this girl teleport like her.

Selina was sure this girl was not one of her kind because she could faintly hear the rhythm of her heartbeat speeding up. But how could she have that ability?

After a few moments of thinking, a sly smile curled on her lips. ’Perhaps I’m overthinking things,’ she mused, shaking her head as she stared at her prey closely.

"Little girl, you won’t kill me with that mere bullet," Selina said coldly. "Hahaha, sorry girl, you won’t..."

Hearing the woman’s confident words was enough to fill Iris with anxiety.

’Could it be true that my bullets can’t kill this devil?’ Iris muttered under her breath, desperately trying to recall if Gavriel had ever mentioned anything about it. However, at this moment, she felt her mind starting to blur, unable to remember anything.

’Focus, Iris! Focus!’ She urged herself.

She was never afraid of any of her enemies, always ready to kill them without mercy. But now, she was gripped by fear because what stood before her wasn’t human; it was a creature she had only seen in movies.

How could a human like her possibly stand a chance against this woman?

What infuriated her even more was her inability to use her powers. She couldn’t teleport, and her mental attacks were futile against this woman.

’Damn it! What bad luck! How could I encounter this creature so soon, in this place!?’ Iris thought.

As Iris continued to think about her escape from this dangerous situation, the woman spoke again, "I know you can move faster. But don’t think you can escape from me. I know where you live, Miss. Gray!" Selina’s words were delivered calmly, but they struck Iris like thunder.

’She knows me? Who is this damn woman?’ Instantly, horror coursed through her as she considered the possibility that this woman had been sent by her enemies from her past life.

’Did they already discover my existence and send her to kill me!?’ Iris pondered, feeling her blood run cold at the thought. ’No, it can’t be. It’s impossible. No one knows I’m still alive here. No one...’

Refusing to believe the woman’s claims, Iris fixed a sharp gaze on her. "You don’t believe me? Well, you’re welcome to try..." She said calmly, though inside, her heart raced faster and harder than ever before.

Selina couldn’t help but laugh at Iris’ words.

"Hahaha... Do you want to challenge me, Miss. Gray? I know you’re just bluffing. I’m sure you know I can hear your heart beating loudly now. It makes me yearn to rip your heart out..." The corners of her lips lifted, revealing an evil and charming cold smile.
