Chapter 138: Something Went Wrong!?

Chapter 138: Something Went Wrong!?

Iris returned to her room, but her sleepiness had disappeared entirely. She decided to get ready to go to the cafe. But before that, she texted Justin.

[Iris:] Justin, are you awake?

[Iris:] Xavier said you will drive me to Gray Cafe.

[Iris:] I will head there after breakfast.

After waiting for another few minutes, there was no reply from Justin. She decides to prepare herself. Just as she finished getting dressed, she heard her cell phone ring.

She immediately picked up Justin’s phone call. "Morning, Justin. Did you read my text?"

"Hi, Iris... Yes, I read," Justin said. "Sure, I can drop you there. What time do you want to go?" he asked in his cheerful tone as usual.

"I’m ready now. But I think I will have breakfast here. I will wait until the Chef finishes preparing our breakfast."

Iris didn’t want to make Kevin busy by cooking for her because this morning they might be busy; today was the weekend.

"You can come down now, Iris... Breakfast is ready."

She immediately came downstairs and found Justin had just finished eating. He was now enjoying the scenery while sipping his coffee.

Iris was surprised to see him. Usually, he appeared in a hip-hop style, wearing brightly colored oversized hoodies. But, now, he looked dashing in a long navy coat. He also wore trousers of the same color as his coat. She would think he was heading to a formal event if he weren’t wearing his white shirt under his long coat and white sneakers.

"You look dashing so early. Did you have plans to go somewhere?" She casually asked while sitting opposite him and started to enjoy her sandwich.

"Yeah," Justin said, then glanced at her and placed his coffee cup on the table. "That’s why I could only drop you at Gray Cafe." He faintly smiled.

"I am willing to drive there alone; it’s only a few minutes’ drive, but you know Xavier forbade me to drive there, right!?" She smiled bitterly. She didn’t want to bother Justin over small things like this. But, remembering Xavier’s seriousness, she had no choice but to promise him.

"No, don’t go alone. Xavier already assigned me to drive you. Iris, call me if you are done at Gray Cafe and ready to go home. I will come to pick you up immediately..." Justin said.

He wanted to accompany Iris to stay at the Gray cafe. However, because he already had an appointment elsewhere, he could only drop her off and pick her up later.

"That’s perfect. I will stay there until they close the cafe. So you can pick me up around 5 PM."

Iris wanted to stay long at Gray Cafe to practice her teleportation ability. She lived at Darkwood Villa for two months and couldn’t practice long-distance teleportation.

She didn’t know why she couldn’t do it. So far, she could only teleport a short distance, like to the gym, which was only a few steps away from her bedroom. She couldn’t even go to the living room on the first floor. This frustrated her and worried her at the same time. A few times, she thought maybe there was a decline in her abilities.

Justin sipped his coffee thoughtfully while looking at Iris quietly. Curiosity arose in his mind, and he couldn’t help but ask.

"Iris, you look happy. I wonder if you guys fought... That’s why Xavier went to another city!?" He asked out of curiosity.

This morning, he was baffled when he received Xavier’s text asking him to return home even though he was in another country. It took him a few hours to arrive here. He didn’t even have the chance to meet his Lord or Niles. He only received a short message from Xavier asking him to guard Iris and take her to Gray Cafe.

Iris swallowed the remaining food in her mouth. After she drank her orange juice, she looked at Justin, "A fight?" she asked, unable to believe what she was hearing. Gosh!

"Damn! Why did you ask me? You’re supposed to answer that, right?" Justin shook his head.

Iris helplessly replied to the foolish Justin, "We are not," she said thoughtfully. "I believe you’re not at home and don’t know what happened, right?" She could only shake her head as she finished her sandwich, ignoring Justin, who was now looking at her with a confused look.

As he deepened his thoughts, Justin refrained from asking her further, trying to figure out what really happened.

The situation was not as simple as he initially thought, so Justin worried about his master’s sudden departure. It was rare for his master to leave the house in a hurry like now.

"Iris, can you tell me what happened?" Justin couldn’t help but ask.

She didn’t rush to answer him. She simply finished her breakfast.

Before long...

Looking back at him, Iris said, "There’s a company problem in District Three, and they need Xavier there to take care of it. That’s why he flew there in a hurry."

Justin felt shocked hearing that.

There was no way Xavier would be involved in his family’s business, and he would never be interested in it. Since forever, Killian was the one who handled all their human-related affairs: the company, their legal documents, anything.

’Why would Xavier make such an excuse? There must be something very urgent that made him leave suddenly. But what?’ Justin was puzzled.

After a few moments in a daze, a thought crossed his mind. The only thing that could make Xavier leave was something related to his mortal enemy. Now, he was curious and wanted to meet Niles to ask what really happened.

After Iris finished breakfast, they immediately headed to the Gray Cafe.

...

A few minutes later, they arrived at Gray Cafe.

Iris said goodbye to Justin and walked towards the cafe. Still, before she entered, she watched Justin’s car heading towards the city.

"So he’s heading to the city? Could he be going to see the girl he likes?" Iris smiled and walked into the cafe.
