Chapter 132: Moving

Thrill wanted to know how her life would be after living with him.

And worry that Xavier would find out about her identity as an assassin.

Luckily, Gavriel agreed not to suddenly appear in Xavier’s house. They would meet at Gray Cafe, their usual spot, if something important happened.

As their car passed by Gray Cafe, Xavier offered to stop by, but she refused. She had already brought all her important belongings in her space ring, and some of her clothes were in the suitcase she had sent to his house a day before.

Besides, she didn’t want to wake up Maya, who was now living in their house.

"You need more sleep, Iris. I heard from Grandma Gray that you didn’t sleep all night." Xavier glanced at her, feeling concerned when he saw her yawn several times.

Iris didn’t refuse him. She was indeed feeling very sleepy. Last night, she had helped her grandma pack, and they had talked about many things all night. She had only slept a few hours before they had to go to the airport.

...

Even though Iris had visited Xavier’s house many times, this was the first time she felt nervous as they got closer to his house. Because this time, she came to this house not as a guest but as a new family member, where she would live with him, along with Justin and Niles.

When she saw the lights of Darkwood Villa still shining from a distance, she suddenly remembered something important that she had forgotten to ask him, as she had been too focused on helping her grandma in the past few days.

Iris turned her gaze to Xavier as their car finally stopped in front of his house.

"Xavier, about our sleeping arrangement, will I sleep in my own room? I mean, the room you prepared for me on the third floor?" Iris asked innocently. She usually uses that room when she comes to practice in his gym or shooting range.

Xavier turned off the car engine and turned to look at her with a calm look, but suddenly had the idea to tease this innocent girl.

"Iris, we are engaged, right?" He asked.

She nodded, confirming his question.

"Why are you asking about that!?" Xavier said and got out of the car, leaving Iris puzzled by his words.

’What does he mean? Did he say we will sleep in the same room or not?’ Iris asked herself, feeling confused.

While Iris pondered, she heard the car door open. She looked back and saw Xavier standing outside, waiting for her to come down.

"Do you want me to carry you like a princess before entering the house?" Xavier said casually, but to Iris’ ears, it sounded like flirting.

She immediately shook her head, rejecting his idea. How could she ask to be treated like that?

Not wanting to give him a chance to speak, she quickly grabbed her backpack and exited the car, following Xavier, who was already walking a few steps ahead.

With difficulty, she matched his wide stride. She finally caught up with him when they entered the house and noticed the room was still dark.

It was still too early for them to arrive home because the sun was just about to rise over the horizon.

"Where are Niles and Justin?" Iris asked, trying to break their silence as they walked towards the elevator.

"It looks like they’re still sleeping," Xavier answered.

Iris didn’t speak anymore when they entered the elevator. She tried to calm her nervousness, thinking they would be sleeping in the same room. It’s not that she’s afraid of him, but for some unknown reason, she feels nervous about sharing a room with him. This was new to her.

Before long, the elevator finally stopped on the third floor. She exited the elevator, lowering her head, trying to hide her blushing face.

"Iris, where are you going?"

Suddenly, Iris’ steps stopped, hearing Xavier’s voice behind her. Confused, she lifted her head and realized she was a few steps away from Xavier’s bedroom. Then she looked at Xavier behind her. He seemed to be standing near a bedroom that she usually used.

’Damn!! Did I guess wrong again!?’ Iris inwardly scolds herself. She immediately walked over to him while maintaining her calm expression.

"Do you want to sleep with me in my bedroom?" Xavier asked in a cheerful tone. "I don’t mind if you want to, Iris..."

Too embarrassed to respond, she just shook her head to reject his idea. Then, she walked quickly toward her bedroom.

"Xavier, I’m so tired and sleepy," she said quickly, yawning. "We’ll talk later!" She opened her bedroom door, then closed and locked it.

’Damn Iris Gray!! You were stupid to think you two would share a room...’ Iris laughed to herself at what had just happened outside. Just as she wanted to hide herself under the blanket, she heard Xavier’s voice shouting from outside.

"Iris, open the door, please. There’s something important I need to tell you..."

Hearing how serious Xavier’s voice was, Iris’ steps stopped. She returned to the door and opened it.

"Y-Yes? What is it?" She asked curiously.

"You already know that there are a few places in this house you can’t enter, right?"

"Hmm, I remember."

"Everything is still the same; you can’t access the second floor and some rooms in the basement. But you should also know you can’t go to the forest behind the house." He explained.

"The forest?" Iris repeated his words, surprised to learn that he also prohibited her from going there. Seeing him nod, she continued, "Why can’t I go there? I mean... I had imagined going there in the summer. That place must be beautiful, right?"

"So many beasts in that place," Xavier lied. He didn’t want Iris to encounter Selina. That girl couldn’t resist Iris’s alluring blood fragrance and might endanger Iris’ life if they met.

"I see," Iris said, even though she was still curious to visit that forest.

Looking at her disappointment, he added, "If you want to go there, tell me, and I will bring you there..." He faintly smiled, finding it hard to say no to her.
