Chapter 133: Ensure Her Safety

Looking at her disappointment, he added, "If you want to go there, tell me, and I will bring you there..." He faintly smiled, finding it hard to say no to her.

"Thank you," Iris smiled. "Anything else?" She felt sleepy now and wanted to rest for a few hours.

"Go ahead and sleep. I’ll wake you up at ten for breakfast. Is that okay?" He asked for her opinion. Since they weren’t human, they didn’t know Iris’s schedule. He would just follow her routine later.

"That sounds okay. Xavier, you don’t have to cook for me. I can take care of my meal—" She paused momentarily. This was her flaw; she couldn’t cook at all. And now, she can’t let Xavier cook for her.

"We can talk about it later. You better rest now," Xavier calmly said, closing the door for her. He could see how tired her eyes were, which made him worry.

After ensuring Iris was settled in her bedroom, Xavier vanished from his place. He appeared in a living room area on the second floor. He saw Niles and Justin there, playing a game.

"M-Milrod..."

"Lord Xavier..."

They both stood from their seats and politely bowed, shocked to see Xavier suddenly appearing on the second floor—he rarely came to this place.

Xavier didn’t answer them immediately, but he walked toward the large glass window that looked out onto the frozen lake outside.

Standing there, he gazed outside while thinking deeply—how to make Iris comfortable living with them, how she could adjust her life in this new environment.

Xavier had already thought about this many times since he asked Iris to move here. He had also previously discussed it with Justin and Niles; however, he wanted to ensure they understood and could help Iris feel comfortable living in this house.

A few moments later, Xavier turned back and saw Justin and Niles standing not far from him. "Niles, have you done what I asked?"

"My lord, about the chef and the maid you requested?"

"Yes. When will they arrive?"

"They are already waiting in town. They will start to work when Lady Iris moves here," Niles replied.

"She moved in today and now sleeps in her bedroom upstairs," Xavier said.

Instantly, Niles and Justin exchanged glances, surprised that Iris had already slept upstairs. Since when did she arrive?

"Why didn’t I hear anything!?" Justin was surprised to find out because while he was playing games, he didn’t hear Iris’s voice. Usually, he would listen to her voice because his hearing system is sharper than ordinary humans.

It wasn’t just Justin who was confused, but Niles, too. He was curious because he didn’t hear anything. They both looked at Xavier, interested to hear his answer.

"You will not hear anything because I sealed several rooms in this house, especially on the first and third floors. You won’t hear any sound from there," explained Xavier. He didn’t want anyone in the house to hear his conversation with Iris.

It’s not just the sound he seals; he also limits who can teleport within this house. Only he and Iris have that ability.

Xavier knew Iris could teleport but didn’t want her to wander too far. So, he sealed Iris’ teleportation area, limiting it to only the third floor, afraid that she would dare to go any further and enter the forbidden areas of this house, especially their blood wine cellar.

"Niles, you can ask the chef to move to the cabin at the back and do the same with the several female maids who will assist Iris..."

"Yes, Milord. I will instruct them to start working today. Is there anything else, Milord?" Niles asked before departing.

"Ask the chef to prepare breakfast for Iris at ten," he waved his hand, "You may go now."

Niles nodded and attempted to teleport but was shocked to find that he couldn’t.

’Huh!? Why can’t I teleport?’ Niles was shocked. After several attempts, he still couldn’t.

"Niles, what happened?" Justin, who sensed Niles’s troubled expression, asked, confused.

A look of surprise crossed Niles’ eyes before he said, "Something’s wrong with me; I can’t teleport!?"

Xavier, who overheard Niles, calmly explained, "I forgot to inform you both. From now on, no one can teleport inside the house. You’ll have to go outside to do that."

Though confused by Xavier’s explanation, Niles didn’t dare to question him. He simply nodded and promptly left the room to contact the chef and the maids who would assist them in the house.

After Niles left the room, Xavier turned his gaze to Justin.

"Justin, ensure the workers don’t show up when she’s in the house. Especially, Selina, you’re responsible for her..." Xavier ordered. He didn’t want anything to happen to Iris during her stay here.

Xavier also wanted to ensure that Iris would feel at home during her stay here and be safe from any threats.

That’s why he had called the chef and his maid from his old mansion on the other side of the world to help him here. These people were his confidants who had been with him for a long time. He could trust them, unlike Selina, who was still young and had only recently joined him.

"Don’t worry, Milord... I will ensure that everything goes as smoothly as you wish."

"And the most important thing is..." Xavier paused, rubbing his eyebrow slightly before continuing. "Make sure she doesn’t become suspicious of us!"

Even though Xavier knows Iris will eventually discover his identity because she is not an ordinary human, it’s better if she remains unaware for now.

He’s afraid Iris will run away from him upon learning they are vampires. The frightening creature once existed only in fantasy stories circulating among ordinary humans out there.

"Don’t worry, Milord, I will ensure it never happens..." Justin promised, a smile spreading across his face. Deceiving Iris was easy; the girl was very innocent. Up to this point, she didn’t even realize that the car she had bought from him belonged to Xavier.
