Chapter 119: Shameless Justin
Chapter 119: Shameless Justin
Iris decided to go home sooner rather than listen to Justin’s bragging, which gave her a constant headache. However, once again, this man really tested her patience.
She stopped in her tracks before opening her car door. With a frown on her forehead, she turned, facing Justin, who stood three steps away from her.
"You said you didn’t bring a car here!?" Iris repeated Justin’s words, not believing him. "How did you arrive here then? Teleport? Or what?"
Justin almost choked. ’How does she know I can teleport?’ He silently gulped before responding to her, "Ugh, well... Niles dropped me here; he happened to go elsewhere. Can you give me a ride to Gray Cafe? Niles will pick me up there—" he pleaded, hoping Iris wouldn’t refuse. He was too lazy to follow her while running.
"Okay," Iris had no reason to refuse him. But in her heart, she prayed that this man would no longer talk about something she didn’t want to hear about — having sex with Xavier.
Just thinking about it made her face turn red. If she had to discuss her intimate matters with a man who happened to be none other than Xavier’s cousin, it would be weird, wouldn’t it? And obviously, Justin would tell Xavier what they talked about.
"Thank you, Iris. You are such an angel," Justin said, then grabbed Iris’s car key. He entered the car, taking a seat behind the wheel.
"What are you doing?" Iris frowned, looking at Justin.
"How could you drive for me? Let me drive..." He shamelessly said and closed the door.
Iris was speechless. Exhausted from talking to him, she could only walk around and sit in the passenger seat. However, before she could buckle her seatbelt, Justin stopped her.
"Iris, sit in the back," He said.
"What the heck are you trying to do, Justin? Are you trying to be my driver or something?" Iris said, ignoring him completely.
How could she sit in the back?
After she fastened her seatbelt, she glared at him. "What are you waiting for? Drive now!"
Iris was tired of talking to him. She didn’t understand him; he seemed more protective than her boyfriend. Gosh! She closed her eyes, avoiding his gaze as if she had issued a warning that she didn’t want to talk to him at this moment.
...
Justin had no choice but to drive while Iris sat beside him. For now, he needs to pray, hoping his Lord will understand and will not scold him.
After a few minutes of driving, he felt the atmosphere was too gloomy.
He could sense that Iris was in a bad mood, and she believed she was like this because she missed Xavier, right?
"Did you miss Xavier?" He asked, trying to lift her mood. But, of course, Iris ignores him.
Justin grinned.
"Iris, why are you suddenly eating steak outside? Didn’t Grandma Gray cook for you?" He casually inquired.
Justin already knew that Iris had visited Darkhill this morning and met a man. Till now, he was still suspicious about that man, but Xavier had never informed them about the identity of that man.
What puzzled him was that Xavier looked so relaxed and fine, knowing that Iris was getting close to that man.
"Iris, I know you hear me," Justin playfully said. "Oooh, please don’t try to fool me. I know you just pretend to sleep..."
’Gosh! This man...’ Iris scolded Justin in her mind.
She tried to think of a proper excuse to answer him. She didn’t like to lie, but how could she tell him about what happened today? This man would be frightened if he knew she had just returned from killing Ruby Winters.
"—I was craving that steak. That’s why I forced myself to drive there for my late lunch." Iris said this was the best excuse she could come up with now.
Justin didn’t ask her any further. He just nodded, but his suspicion of her deepened even more.
"I see. Next time, you should call me, don’t go there alone... You remember Xavier asked me to accompany you during his absence, right?"
Hearing Xavier’s name suddenly made her heart beat faster. She had completely forgotten about him just now, too distracted by the breaking news that had swept the country.
"Do you know what time his plane lands?" She glanced at Justin.
"In about two hours from now, I guess—" Justin said, trying to be as natural as possible, worried that Iris would catch him lying.
Justin was starting to feel too exhausted to lie.
He lied that he didn’t know about Iris’s departure to Darkhill early this morning. Now, he was also lying that his master was still on the plane, but his Lord was at their house, waiting for the right time to visit her.
’How tiring!’ Justin vented his frustration while focusing on the street ahead. But later, what he saw shocked him.
He silently gulped and hoped his master, who was now following them in the woods, hadn’t heard his conversation with Iris at the restaurant; otherwise, his Lord might send him to the desert in the Middle East.
"Iris! I will go home now..." Justin said after parking the car. Iris was confused when she saw Justin suddenly wanted to go home.
"Has Niles arrived?" Iris asked, looking at the car parked in front of Gray Cafe. But she didn’t see the Darkwood family car that she recognized.
"Justin, let me take you to your house... It’s only a 10-minute round trip," Iris said. She felt sorry for not offering earlier.
"No... No need," Justin immediately rejected her. "Someone is already on the way..." He would rather walk than ask Iris to drive him to their house; his master would definitely be furious.
"Where? You’d better wait inside. I’ll make coffee for you. Let’s go—" She said, then walked towards the cafe.
"My ride... finally arrived just in time, Iris." Justin smiled as he walked toward the black sedan stopped on the street. "Bye, Iris, see ya!"
