"How so!?" Xavier looked at Lucian curiously.

Lucian turned to face Xavier, saying, "I shall instruct my people to divert their attention. Rest assured. They shall cease their activities within this country in a few years."

"Agreed," Xavier replied promptly. Before Lucian could say something, he continued, "However, Lucian, this alone will not be enough. I have another request... give her more power!"

"Her? Are you referring to your woman? What specific power do you mean?" Lucian asks.

"Certainly, I speak of my beloved woman," Xavier replied as he casually slid his hand into his coat pocket. "I am well aware that you will reward her after she completes her mission. But, Lucian, must you be so stingy with her? On her first mission, you only gave her one reward." He sounded somewhat discontent in his tone.

Lucian is taken aback by Xavier’s knowledge of these particular matters. His mind suddenly flooded with questions: Had Iris disclosed this information to him? Had they both become aware of their true identities?

"How did you know about this? Did Iris tell you these details?"

"You don’t need to know about how I obtained this information. You only need to fulfill my request," Xavier retorted firmly.

"Fine!! But—" Lucian smiled when he saw Xavier glaring at him as if he wanted to punch him with his sharp gaze.

Lucian continues ignoring him, "Never interfere in her mission. And stop scaring Gavriel. The poor guy called Old White several times, asking to be transferred to someone else, but of course, Old White didn’t agree before I said so!"

"Can I kill Gavriel??" Xavier asked annoyedly, remembering how that man treated his woman!

"Xavier, why do you always want to kill innocent people?" Lucian shook his head in frustration. This old man really has a bad temper.

"He’s not innocent, and he’s not human; he’s half angel, so can I?"

"NO!" Lucian said.

"Tsk! You’re not fun at all, Lucian!" Xavier said. He waved his hand and disappeared.

Lucian couldn’t help but smile. He shook his head faintly and jumped off the roof, disappearing into thin air.

After returning to her car, Iris promptly removed her wig and all the makeup she had used to conceal her appearance. She then changed out of her coat and shoes, returning to the clothes she wore when she left her house.

Once she had finished, she realized it was too early to return home; it was only two in the afternoon.

Iris decided to head to the steak restaurant, where she usually comes with Justin. She planned to stay there for at least two hours, biding her time before returning home.

The restaurant was only a few minute’s drive from the train station, and she arrived shortly. Many empty tables were available for her to choose from.

After ordering her food, Iris chose a table in the corner. She settled in, allowing her to open her laptop and read the latest updates regarding Dudley and Ruby.

She was immersed in reading the latest news on the internet. Almost all local and national media outlets covered what happened in the Darkhill Hotel.

Iris anticipated the media might have difficulty uncovering the victim’s real name. That’s why, while in the car earlier, she had also released some information about the victim to the media. Unsurprisingly, the name Ruby Withers is now trending on search engines.

She also checked the local news for Silenthill. She was surprised to see the Silenthill campus forum down due to the high traffic volume — everyone wanted to see Ruby’s profile.

The waiter promptly served her order. She closed her laptop and placed it in her bag.

However, just as she was about to bite her steak, her hand hung mid-air. Her gaze fell upon a person she recognized entering the restaurant, and by chance, their eyes met.

"Wow!! Iris Gray... why are you here?"

She placed her cutlery on the plate as she looked at Justin, who, without invitation, shamelessly took a seat across from her.

"Of course, eat! And why did you come here?" Iris asked, then resumed eating. She was famished.

"I just saw you eating alone. That’s why I came to say hi," he lied. Xavier had insisted he come to the restaurant to keep Iris company and ensure she safely reached her house.

"You can order food if you want, Justin..." Iris politely offered with an awkward smile.

"No need, I just need a warm drink," he replied casually, signaling a waitress to place an order.

Iris didn’t talk to him further, choosing to continue her meal in silence, all while Justin discussed the breaking news on the internet and television.

"Have you checked the internet?" Justin asked, glancing at her laptop on the table.

"No. Why?" She casually asked, but inwardly, she tried hard to hide her expression and avoid this busybody Justin suspicious of her.

"Something big has happened!" Justin said excitedly. Then he slowly moved his head closer to Iris and continued in a low tone, "Ruby Withers, she was found dead in Darkhill City..."

"W-What!? You didn’t lie, right!?" Iris pretended to be surprised. She set down her cutlery — luckily, this was her last bite.

Justin shook his head, then continued, "She was found dead in a hotel room with a married man. Damn!! How dare she chase Xavier when she already has a boyfriend there!? Tsk.... Tsk... And do you know how she died!?"

Iris slowly shook her head.

"That girl and her boyfriend... they’re exhausted from doing... you know... the thing you did... with your boyfriend..." Justin said awkwardly.

He couldn’t continue his words; it was too frightening to imagine Iris and Xavier having sex, and he could picture Iris surely would die. No one human can hold Xavier’s power.

"You mean having sex!?" Iris said casually.

Justin’s face turns stiff. ’This girl, how dare she bring up this topic??’

"Yes, having sex," he sighed deeply before continuing, "—I should warn you, Iris. Please never do that with Xavier... I don’t want to hear about another friend of mine dying!"

Iris was utterly speechless.

She felt a strong urge to stuff someone’s mouth with a slipper.
