Chapter 109: Learn How To Control Her Ability

"This time, the target isn’t directly related to me, but he’s involved with someone who’s also connected to me."

Seeing Gavriel frown, Iris quickly continued, "My college friend is secretly involved with my target... she is my target’s secret love affair!"

Gavriel pondered for a while, trying to remember if he had ever encountered a similar case to Iris’s. However, after a few seconds, he attempted to recall but couldn’t remember anything.

"Iris, I’m not sure why, but maybe this is just a coincidence. Because you, I mean young Iris, reside in this place. She knows a lot of people around District Six," Gavriel explained, even though inwardly, he was not sure whether what he said was true.

Iris didn’t press Gavriel for further details about her curiosity. She would first see her third assignment, and if her next target were someone related to her, she would ask Lucian. He might know the reason.

Before long, Gavriel parked his car at the Starcoin Cafe opposite the Darkhill City Police Headquarters.

"We will wait here while enjoying breakfast. You haven’t eaten anything yet, right?" Gavriel asked as they entered the cafe.

"I had breakfast with grandma before leaving my house, but another cup of coffee won’t be a problem," she replied.

As they entered the cafe, Iris was slightly surprised to see that it was already lively, with almost no empty tables. Luckily, someone stood up as they arrived, so she chose a table near the glass wall, providing a clear view of the police station.

"You sit first," Gavriel said. "I will order something. What do you want?" He glanced at her.

"Black coffee, thank you," Iris said.

Gavriel nodded and walked to the counter. Iris started to eye the police officer’s main entrance. She glanced at her watch several times to see when her target would appear. But, after a few minutes, that person still did not show up.

Iris retrieved her cell phone to trace his location, but before she could do that, Gavriel arrived and placed a cup of coffee before her.

"You want to call your boyfriend?" He said coldly while sitting opposite Iris.

She rolls her eyes before answering him, "Nope! I need to trace my target location. I put a GPS tracker in his cellphone, so—"

"No need. He is in his office meeting with his boss and colleagues," Gavriel said calmly before eating his sandwich.

"—How do you know?" Iris raised her eyebrow. "Damn! You can see that far? I envy you for that ability, Gavriel..."

Gavriel nodded.

"Why didn’t you activate your God Eyes?" He asked.

Instantly, Iris slapped her forehead. How could she forget something as crucial as God-Eye? She immediately summoned her invisible cell phone, pressed the icon, and whispered, ’ACTIVE.’

Soon after, her eyes could see more clearly, and her ears became more attuned.

However, because she was in the middle of the city, all the sounds within a mile radius of her location, including the sound of car engines, people talking, machines, and all other noises, became painfully sharp to her ears. It felt like her eardrums were about to explode. She couldn’t bear it, but she managed to restrain herself from screaming, only covering her ears with her hands while lowering her head.

’Damn! How to stop this!?’ She muttered while trying to call her invisible cell phone.

Still eating his sandwich, Gavriel was surprised to see Iris’ face suddenly turn red and appear in pain. As if understanding what had happened to her, Gavriel quickly waved his hand while whispering something, and an invisible barrier instantly appeared, shielding them from all outside noise.

"You can’t handle the noise?" Gavriel asked casually, but inwardly, he couldn’t help but laugh at how red her face had turned. She looks so adorable.

"Y-Yes... but now, I hear nothing, only your voice..." Iris slowly lifted her head and saw Gavriel, who looked relaxed as if nothing had occurred.

"I put an invisible barrier around us. You won’t hear anything from outside," Gavriel explained, then sipped his coffee before continuing. "You don’t know how to use it? Isn’t this your second time?" He was sure this girl had already used her God’s Eye during her first mission.

"When I first activated it, I was in the middle of the forest, so the sound was minimal. But just now, the noise around here almost made my eardrums explode," she said helplessly. "Gavriel, can you teach me how to control it?"

"Simple, you just need to focus and ask your mind what you want to hear and see," explained Gavriel.

"That simple?" Iris frowned, disbelieving his suggestion.

"Try before asking, Iris Gray!" He gave her an annoyed look.

Iris grinned, ignoring his annoyance. "Alright, you can open the barrier," she requested.

Gavriel shook his head. "No. You’d better test your eyes first."

She said nothing but immediately tried to see the building before her. She could see everything, even clearly observing a fat man urinating in the bathroom. What almost made her vomit was the fact that she could see everyone naked.

Suddenly, she shifted her gaze to look at Gavriel. She was surprised because she couldn’t see his skin under his coat. Had he sealed it, too?

"What are you looking at?" He narrowed his eyes on Iris.

"Nothing!"

"So, what are you waiting for? Do it now?"

Iris didn’t bother to talk to him. She immediately closed her eyes and focused on selecting what she wanted to see. When she slowly opened her eyes, her field of vision was not as wide and clear as before. Now, she could only see what she wanted to see.

’Wow! This is so cool! Now, I can see everyone with their clothes.’

Iris didn’t stop what she was doing. She continued to train her eyesight until she mastered it. After almost five minutes, she looked back at Gavriel.

"I’m ready! Please open this barrier..." Iris said as she closed her eyes, ready to control her hearing ability.
