Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife
Chapter 46: First Breakfast With Him!

Chapter 46: First Breakfast With Him!

Aurora went downstairs before seven in the morning. She didn’t want Alex to wait for her like he did the night before.

She felt relieved when she arrived in the dining room and discovered that Alex was not there.

’At least I didn’t make him wait for me again,’ she smiled.

However, her smile began to fade when she saw Drew, the chef who had been cooking for Alex, enter the dining room.

"Good morning, Young Madam..."

Drew stood at the end of the table, gesturing for her to sit before placing the food on the table.

"Good morning... sir..." Aurora nearly said his name, even though they had not yet met.

"Ma’am, my name is Drew. I am Mr. Alex’s personal chef. You may call me Drew if you wish," he said politely while smiling at her.

Then, he turned his gaze to Martin, who had just appeared from the back door to assist him in serving breakfast to their boss’s wife.

"Nice to meet you, Drew..." Aurora smiled warmly before taking a seat. Upon seeing the dishes on the table, her heart swelled with emotion. She missed Drew’s cooking.

Aurora immediately lowered her head to hide her barely contained emotions; worried Drew would notice that her eyes were now red.

As she struggled to contain the turmoil inside her, Martin’s voice broke through from behind.

"Good morning, ma’am. Mr. Alex will join you for breakfast shortly. He mentioned you can eat first."

She saw Martin standing beside her and nodded in response. The emotion that had engulfed her earlier slowly faded, replaced with tension.

Sitting at the dining table with Alex, especially after learning about his feelings for her, made her feel a strange mix of emotions.

"Ma’am, would you like some water, tea, or something else?" Drew’s question distracted her from her nervousness.

"Thanks for the coffee, Drew," Aurora smiled as she watched him nod before leaving the dining room.

She knew that besides being a great cook, Drew was also an excellent barista. Any coffee he made tasted out of this world, and she was pretty addicted to the coffee he brewed.

Even though Alex had been giving her the cold shoulder, she could still be in this place, surrounded by her friends and able to interact with them once more.

"Madam, I heard from Master Alex that you need to obtain a driver’s license?" Martin asked.

She quickly turned to him and nodded. "Yes. Can you help me get it? Do you need me to come with you to take a driver’s test?"

"There’s no need, ma’am. Just send me a copy of your ID and a profile picture, and I will arrange everything for you," he explained.

"Okay, I’ll give it to you before I head to campus."

Martin nodded slightly as he spotted Alex walking into the dining room.

"Good morning, Master," Martin greeted politely as he pulled a chair for Alex opposite Aurora.

When Alex entered the dining room, Aurora froze in her seat.

The tension she had felt earlier, which had gradually faded, returned as soon as Alex walked in. He looked sharp in his white, slim-fit shirt, and his hair was neatly combed back, just as she had seen it every morning for years.

He avoided looking at her as he handed his suit to Martin before sitting across from her.

"Good morning, Alex," she greeted him politely, a calm smile on her face, even though her heart raced.

"Good morning. Did Martin tell you that you can eat first?"

"Yes, he did. I don’t mind waiting for you. I’m not in a hurry to get to my campus..."

The corners of Alex’s lips lifted into a faint smile as he heard her words, and their eyes locked.

"Aurora, you don’t have to wait for me next time."

Aurora was surprised by his gentle tone and smile. Since the day they met yesterday, this was the first time she had heard him speak like that and smile as well.

"Hmm, I will..." Aurora responded softly before starting to eat her breakfast.

When Aurora was lost in thought, wondering why Alex had suddenly started being friendly towards her, a man’s voice from behind greeted Alex politely. Alex simply gestured with his hand for the man to wait.

Aurora recognized the voice. She glanced briefly and was surprised to see Josh, Alex’s bodyguard, standing by the doorway.

’Josh? Why did he ask him to come here?’ Aurora wondered as she refocused on her breakfast.

Shortly after, Aurora finally took her last bite, and Alex’s voice broke the silence, "Josh, come here..." before he glanced at the girl before him.

"Aurora..." His tone remained gentle, prompting her to lift her head to meet his gaze.

She felt happy that Alex kept his promise to call her name when others were around.

"Yes?"

"This is Josh. From now on, he will be your chauffeur and bodyguard. He will accompany you wherever you go," he said calmly, though Aurora was stunned to hear it.

Aurora sighed softly. She wasn’t particularly fond of having a driver and a bodyguard.

She also understood Alex’s concern and was aware of the threats awaiting her if his business rival or true enemy discovered her status as his wife.

However, she was not a weak woman. Since childhood, she had been prepared to accompany Alex as his assistant or, in other words, his butler. She had to have strong self-defense skills and be an expert in using various weapons for protection.

It was not a coincidence that Josh was her daily sparring partner for honing her self-defense skills.

She knew how skilled Josh was, and she believed he would be more beneficial to stay close to Alex than to become her bodyguard.

"Alex, is this really necessary? I’m just a student on a very safe campus. Plus, my friends will be shocked that I now have a chauffeur... a bodyguard."

She still tried to resist this privilege. However, her efforts were entirely in vain.
