Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife -
Chapter 33: Traumatized
Chapter 33: Traumatized
"Pick me up? Alex, that’s not necessary..." Aurora refused.
"It is. It’s absolutely necessary! And you can’t say no to it..." Alex replied.
"You don’t need to pick me up. Just give me the address, and I’ll catch a cab." She wanted to know which house he would take her to.
"You want to ride a Taxi?" Alex asked, unable to believe his ears. When Aurora nodded, he chuckled before saying, "Taxis can’t go to Green Hill. They are not allowed to enter. Call Alvin if your class is done."
Aurora is shocked to learn that she will return to the house she has lived in for the past few years.
’Did I hear that wrong? Why did he bring me there? What on earth happened to him?’
Countless questions swirled in her mind. She wanted to ask Alex but stopped when she saw him stand up from his seat.
Putting aside her curiosity, Aurora hurried out of his house.
Aurora didn’t want to run into anyone else, fearing they might recognize her when she returned for her internship at Stardust Tech in a few weeks. She tried to keep her status as Alex’s wife a secret!
...
As they headed to Arcadia University, Aurora was lost in thought, completely ignoring Alvin, who was driving the car. She still can’t believe she is now married to her boss, Alex.
Today, she will head back to Green Hill, where she has spent nearly her entire life.
Aurora can not describe her feelings right now—she is excited yet scared. She is excited to meet everyone she works with to serve Alex.
But she also worries that those people will not accept and even mock her as Alex’s wife because this is the first time he has brought his wife to his private mansion.
’What was he thinking? Did he really intend to marry me forever?’ Aurora wondered in confusion, trying to understand Alex’s thoughts.
Yet, with every question she pondered, she found no answers. It just made her head spin thinking about him.
Quietly, she sighed deeply as she gazed out of the car, attempting to put aside her confusion about Alex’s plan to bring her to his house.
But shortly after, she felt numb when a thought crossed her mind.
’No way! Does Alex know I’m Rory? Is that why he brought me to his house?!’ But hurriedly, she brushed the thought aside.
She slowly shifted her gaze toward Alvin, who appeared calm as he drove.
"Mr. Russel, may I ask you a question?" Aurora asked politely.
"Sure, Young Madam..." Alvin briefly glanced at the rearview mirror before refocusing on the road ahead. "But, mam, you don’t need to speak formally to me. You can call me Alvin."
Aurora decided not to refuse to call him Alvin, just like she did in her previous life.
However, she was still not used to hearing someone call her "Young Madam," which sounded strange to her ears. But she would not stop Alvin from calling her that, worried he would call her Mrs. Graystone or Spencer.
Aurora could no longer hide her new status, as Alex’s closest staff were aware that she and Alex were officially married.
"Do you know what’s wrong with the name Aurora? Why did Alex refuse to call me that?"
Suddenly, the sharp sound of screeching brakes pierced the air outside. The car abruptly stopped, startling Aurora as she gripped the back seat tightly.
’What the hell, Alvin Russel! Do you want to send me to my death? Again?’ She struggled to contain her shock while trying not to let anger appear on her face and gaze.
She stared at Alvin, confused. Why did he suddenly stop?
"Madam, I sincerely apologize. I was too stunned to hear your question..." Alvin truly feels sorry because they were nearly involved in an accident.
Alvin looked back to check on her. When he saw her frightened expression, it made him feel even guiltier.
"Ma’am, are you alright? Would you like me to pull over at the convenience store for a while?"
Aurora still feels traumatized by her accident a few days ago. The thought of being trapped in her car briefly occupies her mind, but she quickly tries to push down her fear and offers a faint smile to Alvin.
"It’s fine, Alvin. You don’t need to stop; please go on. I have to get to my campus before ten," she said calmly, even though her heart still raced a mile a minute.
"I’m sorry, ma’am..." Alvin replied softly enough for Aurora to sense his deep remorse now.
"No need to say that, Alvin. But, I hope you will be careful in the future."
"Thank you, ma’am." Alvin nods, focusing again on the street. But not long after, Aurora’s words once more stunned him.
"Alvin, if my question seems rude or there’s a secret behind that name, just ignore it. You don’t need to answer..."
Aurora didn’t want to die in a car accident again. It’s best to forget her curiosity for now.
She will try to find information about her death later when she returns to Alex’s house.
"No, ma’am. You are not rude, and there’s no secret about it..."
Alvin finally explained that Aurora Moon was Alex’s personal assistant. She had died in a car accident a few days ago.
Aurora pretended to be shocked and sad to hear about Aurora Moon, but in her heart, she could only laugh. How amusing it was to hear Alvin talk about her own death.
However, Aurora’s laughter faded when she heard Alvin express his upset and sorrow for losing Aurora Moon so suddenly.
Not only him, who feels lost, but all the staff at Green Hills were deeply mourning her tragic, untimely death.
Deeply moved, Aurora’s eyes reddened as tears began to fill them.
Trying to distract herself from her overwhelming emotions, she gazed at the scenery outside.
"I’m really sorry if I’ve mentioned Miss Aurora too much," Alvin’s voice echoed in the car.
After another second, he continued, "Ma’am, I hope you don’t feel jealous knowing about her and how much we cared and missed her."
Aurora, "..."
