Chapter 32: Officially Become Alexander Grayson’s Wife

The marriage process was incredibly faster.

There was no line at the courthouse because Alex invited the courthouse official to his home to prepare the documents.

The official photographed the couple and asked them to sign the paperwork.

In just a few minutes, their marriage was complete. They officially became husband and wife and received their marriage certificate immediately.

Aurora was no longer surprised by this process, having witnessed Alex go through it six times. He had secretly married all his ex-wives, and only a few people were aware of this.

In the past, she only felt pity for the women he married, knowing the true motive behind his actions. He married not out of love but because he felt pressured to do so to avoid conflicts with his parents.

However, Aurora now finds herself in the same position as his other ex-wives, and it would be a lie to say that she doesn’t feel sad about it. She does!

What concerned her now was that she felt exhausted watching Alex go through this cycle of marriage and divorce. And she didn’t know how many more times he would do it in the future.

She took a deep breath discreetly while secretly observing him speaking with the officer.

Shortly after, she watched him escort them to the door since the process was complete.

’Gosh! Why do I feel exhausted watching Alex get married nearly every season? God, can’t you spare his life and give him his last partner, with whom he will spend his life?’

Aurora stifled a smile at her thoughts. But soon after, she felt her blood running cold when she realized something when another thought crossed her mind.

’Oh, God, please ignore my prayer. Please don’t let me be the last bride. I don’t want to marry him forever. I don’t want to return to his family and face his cruel mother for the rest of my life. I beg you to send him his final bride—his eighth wife...’

"Miss Spencer, I think... I should call you Mrs. Graystone, right!?" Alex asked, interrupting Aurora’s thought.

Alex chuckled inwardly when their eyes locked on each other and saw her blink, staring at him shyly. Surprised to see her blush, Alex cleared his throat.

"Maybe you’ve forgotten there’s no romance in our marriage?"

Aurora frowned, confused, hearing his words. Of course, she didn’t forget about it. She opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but Alex interrupted her.

"Please stop staring at me as if you want to kiss me. And are you blushing?" Alex spoke casually, but Aurora nearly choked on his words.

Aurora was utterly shocked. She quickly shifted her gaze from him to the bright sky outside.

She couldn’t believe she had become lost in thought, staring at his handsome face as if he were a precious treasure.

"Ugh, sir, I think I should go now..." She quickly stood up from her seat and prepared to leave the area.

Alex crossed his legs, a barely noticeable smile flickering across his lips as he watched her rush toward the door.

"Mrs. Graystone, please have a seat again. We haven’t finished speaking. There is something you need to know." His commanding tone instantly halted her.

Aurora turned to him, her eyebrows slightly raised in curiosity about what he wished to discuss.

She believed everything was settled; they had already signed the prenup and finalized their marriage.

They were officially husband and wife, even though it was a fake marriage.

"What is it?" Aurora asked as she returned to the seating area. She waited for him to say something, but he remained silent, only running his eyes over her. His gaze made her cheeks flush warm once more.

Aurora could no longer bear it after a few more seconds of silence.

"Sir, I have class at ten-thirty and must arrive before ten. Please tell me what you want to talk about. If all you want to do is stare at me, I will leave now!" Aurora stifled a smile, finally confident enough to scold him openly.

His coldness was starting to stress her out, and she didn’t want to stay there much longer; otherwise, she might express anger toward him.

"Don’t worry about it; you won’t be late," he calmly replied, gesturing for her to return to her seat. "And stop calling me Sir! Alex, just Alex..."

Aurora had no choice but to sit once more while scolding him in her mind.

This time, however, she deliberately chose to sit across from him, worried that she might lose control again, and watched him as if he were the most precious treasure.

After noticing Aurora sitting across from him with an impatient expression, he quickly shared his plan for her to move into his house today.

"You want me to move in today?" Aurora asked, stunned. She had thought Alex would let her stay in her apartment with Tina for a few more days to pack their things, but it seemed she was mistaken.

’Why is he pushing me to move in today? This isn’t a real marriage...’ she wondered, struggling to find the right words to say no to him.

’Oh no! Alex wants to spend our wedding night? Seriously? He did say there was no romance, no love in our marriage, but...’ She shuddered at her own thoughts.

Alex frowned at her reaction. "Why do you look shocked? We are officially married, and now you are Mrs. Graystone. How can we live in different houses? Did you forget about the agreement you signed before?"

She ignores him. Her mind is too occupied with so many questions that she can’t bring herself to ask him.

’Which house will he take me to?’

Aurora knows that Alex owns several properties in the capital, each occupied by one of his wives. After their divorces, the ex-wives typically get the houses.

She recalls that Alex had never brought his ex-wives to his personal house in Green Hill.

"You don’t need to worry about packing. Alvin called your nanny to get everything ready, and they’ll come to pick her up and take her to my house," he assures her.

Reluctantly, she realizes she has no choice but to agree.

"After your class ends, call Alvin, and he will pick you up," he adds.

"Pick me up? Alex, that’s not necessary..."
