Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife -
Chapter 31: Special In Alex’s Eyes
Chapter 31: Special In Alex’s Eyes
Alex was surprised by her request. This was the first time a woman had not asked him for more money or fame.
In the past, his ex-wives had demanded ten times or even more than the amount he initially offered, or they sought an extravagant wedding party.
A faint smile appeared on his face for the first time since their meeting. He quickly took the pen and handed it to her.
"You have my word, Miss Spencer. No one out there will ever know about it or ever lay their eyes on this document except for very few trustworthy people you and I can trust!"
Aurora quickly grabbed the pen but paused just before signing. Her heart tightened as she almost signed with Aurora Moon’s signature.
She needed a moment to recall how to sign Aurora Spencer’s name. After finally signing the prenuptial agreement, she pushed the document back to Alex.
"Done!"
Alex took the paper, stood up, and said, "Let’s go, Miss Spencer. We need to finalize our marriage."
Aurora followed him, keeping a few steps behind. Before they left the room, she reminded him once again.
"Sir, could you please just call me Aurora? It feels strange to hear you address me that way. What if someone overhears? They might think our marriage isn’t real!"
Alex’s calm expression shifted abruptly, his blue eyes blazing with anger as he glared at her.
His reaction surprised her. ’Why does he get upset whenever I ask him to use my name?’
Before Aurora could ask anything further, she noticed him starting to speak.
"Miss Spencer, don’t worry... I’ll call your name if anyone is near us. Just please don’t ask me to call you that," he replied coldly before continuing.
But his response only confused Aurora more. Instead of following his lead, she voiced her curiosity.
"I apologize if I have offended you, Mr. Alex, but why don’t you want to call me by my name, Aurora?" she asked.
Alex’s abrupt steps stopped once again. His hand clenched tightly, and he silently vented his frustration inwardly before turning to look at her.
His expression stayed calm, but his gaze revealed the annoyance inside, as though he was trying to tell her, "What the fuck! Stop asking me about it!"
He didn’t respond to her immediately but let his gaze linger on her beauty for a few more seconds.
Something about this girl puzzled him; he couldn’t ignore her curiosity. He had met countless beautiful and exceptional women in the past, but none had captured his interest.
But this girl? He felt irresistibly drawn in whenever he looked into her mesmerizing blue eyes.
He tried to act casual and calm beside her, but his anger always lingered in his mind because she shared the same name as the woman he had just lost.
How could he call her "Aurora"? He couldn’t!
Every time he said it, it felt like a sharp dagger stabbing his heart. He didn’t mind feeling hurt because he knew that Aurora’s death was his fault, and he was willing to accept that punishment.
He couldn’t let this young lady replace Aurora in his thoughts; he would hold onto that feeling forever.
’No, I’m sorry, I can’t do that. In my mind and heart, that name only belongs to Rory!’ he told himself, trying to remind himself.
"Miss Spencer, that name is reserved for someone very dear to me. No one can take it away—not even you..." His warning sent chills down Aurora’s spine.
Aurora nearly tripped over her own feet upon hearing his answer. She found it difficult to believe that Alex could recall her death in that way. This man wouldn’t even address anyone with her name.
"What the hell, Alexander Graystone! That person is me, okay? I’m Rory... I’m Aurora Moon..." She wanted to scold him like that but held back while staring into his intense gaze.
Aurora could only grit her teeth silently, maintaining her expression to avoid appearing annoyed or even crying.
At this moment, she was overwhelmed with happiness to know how special she was in Alex’s eyes.
This was something Aurora had never imagined; all this time, she believed she was simply a maid, or butler at best, in his eyes.
However, her happiness quickly faded when she heard Alex’s following words.
"So, please stop asking me to call you that. I won’t do it unless it’s necessary!"
Aurora froze, her eyes following him as he left the room. She felt confused, unsure whether to be happy or sad about his attitude.
She felt happy because she had become special in his eyes, yet she was also sad because she couldn’t tell him the truth.
"Miss Spencer, can you please move? We need to hurry. Remember, you said you only have..."
Aurora interrupted him, dashing out of his enormous office. "I’m coming... I’m coming..."
She walked a step behind him, venting her annoyance in her mind. Her eyes widened moments later when she realized they were heading to his penthouse.
’Why did he bring me there?’ Aurora muttered as she scanned the expansive hall, resembling the lobby of a modern, five-star luxury hotel that separated his office from his condo.
The place was usually empty because it was only accessible to Alex’s trusted people.
She was surprised to notice two unfamiliar men sitting in the corner with Alvin. When they approached, the three of them stood up.
Alex said nothing but gave a slight nod to the two men and gestured for them to follow him.
Stunned, Aurora allowed them to walk ahead of her, only following when she saw Alvin stop and urge her to enter the house.
As she walked in, Alvin went beside her and whispered, "Miss Spencer, the two men are here to finalize your marriage status with Mr. Alex."
Aurora remained silent, merely nodding as she followed Alex and the others to the seating area.
"Miss, please sit next to Mr. Alex. You need to sign the document and take a picture with him," Alvin prompted Aurora again.
She quickened her pace when she saw Alex glance her way, clearly showing his impatience.
