Pampered by my Billionaire CEO Husband -
Chapter 146: She is planning something!
Chapter 146: Chapter 146: She is planning something!
As soon as the words left the tip of my tongue, the place fell silent within the next second. I could see the exact moment as Stella’s heart sank to the pit of her stomach while everyone remained oblivious to my obvious jab at her, as they only watched with anticipation swirling in the depths of their eyes, waiting for an answer.
Blake and Stella’s eyes both widened, almost as if they were going to pop out of their eye sockets. Shock and surprise flashed past their eyes for a fleeting moment, clearly taken aback by my sudden question. I watched with great satisfaction as her face fell and the colour drained from her face, leaving her pale.
She blinked a couple of times, her mind still struggling to comprehend the situation as she stuttered, unable to find the right words to say. "I... I..."
I laughed, my laughter piercing through the tension that was lingering in the air between us.
"I’m just teasing you!" I exclaimed casually and I saw her once tensed up body finally relaxed visibly for a second as she let out a breath she had been holding. Laughter slipped through the gaps of her fingers. I leaned in closer towards her as I kept my gaze steady, a smirk tugged at the corners of my lips and amusement danced in my dark brown eyes.
"So..." I drawled, my voice trailing off as I continued. "Do you like him? How do you find Blake Carson? What kind of person is he like off set? Does he act very differently from when he is on set?" I questioned, my eyes seemingly filled with curiosity and my tone appeared to be laced with a hint of excitement when in actual fact, I already knew all the answers to my own questions.
Afterall, he used to be my husband.
My eyes flickered over, glancing at Blake who appeared to look slightly nervous as he cleared his throat audibly. I watched as he adjusted the collar of his shirt and his eyes darted around the place anxiously.
He lifted his head as his eyes swept across us and he let a low chuckle leave his parted lips. "Obviously Stella likes me," he said in a joking tone as he reached up and slung his arm around her shoulders, causing her posture to go rigid for a second. "I’m such a great and funny guy."
I laughed and we locked eyes this time. "Of course you are. But does Stella think so?"
Stella hesitated for a moment and I could see the gears in her head shifting as she was rendered speechless at that moment. But the rest of the crew started chanting, demanding for her to give an answer with bright smiles plastered across their faces, unaware of the tension that was crackling in the air between Stella and myself.
She cracked a smile this time, knowing that she was unable to escape from the question. "Uhh..." she began nervously as she bit her bottom lip slightly. "Blake is very kind and fun to be around with," she said, giving one of the most generic and vague answers just to play it safe.
I knew at that moment, her heart was pounding loudly against her chest, afraid that people would somehow find out about her relationship with Blake and ruin her chance of rising to fame as a new actress.
The smile that was etched onto my face widened this time. "Is that so?" I asked before turning to everyone else seated in the circle. "Don’t you guys want to hear more? Get her to spill."
"Spill! Spill! Spill!" They chanted as the palms of their hands repeatedly tapped their thighs in excitement as anticipation and curiosity filled the air at once. "Tell us more!" They started to demand for more.
She laughed, an uncomfortable expression crossed her face for a split second before it was replaced with a nonchalant look as she maintained her calm demeanour. But not before glancing over at me to shoot me a dirty look.
"Well... I –"
I cut her off abruptly before she could finish her sentence. "Guys, let’s not force her. She doesn’t seem very comfortable with sharing," I declared and they nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, it’s fine if you don’t feel comfortable sharing with us," Catherine chimed in with a slight smile etched onto her face.
"Exactly," others began to add on in the background.
"I was just teasing and playing around with her. I mean it’s about time she starts looking for a boyfriend," I added with a laugh, still playing the part of her best friend effortlessly.
Stella shook her head as she forced the corners of her lips to twist upwards into a smile, trying her best to avoid any sort of suspicion and doubt.
"No, I’m not uncomfortable," she started as the smile lingered on her lips. "I will share. What do y’all want to know?"

Third Person POV
It was just Blake and Stella alone in his dressing room now. They had managed to make up an excuse about discussing the script together before they left the rest of the crew, including Aurelia who were all busy eating and talking among themselves.
Stella turned to look at Blake as soon as the door closed behind them. Her eyes were filled with a mixture of anger and fear swimming inside of them as they locked eyes.
"Did you see that? Did you see what she was doing back there?!" She asked, clearly agitated as her tone carried a sharp edge to it.
He walked over towards her, grabbing her by her shoulders as his eyes remained on hers.
"Stella," her name left his lips in a hurry. "You need to calm down," he urged with wide eyes.
She reached up and pushed his hands off her shoulders roughly, anger burning inside of her, spreading quickly like a wildfire she couldn’t seem to tame.
"Don’t you fucking dare ask me to calm down," she warned through gritted teeth, her voice shook with anger as she jutted out her finger to point at him. "She knew exactly what she was doing! She was going to expose us in front of everyone!" She spat the words out like they were poison in her mouth.
"Stella..." he called out to her, but she wasn’t listening, his words only fell on deaf ears as she continued to rant.
"She was going to ruin your chances at becoming a director and my shot at being an actress!" She claimed as she pointed at herself this time. "She is doing all these on purpose!" She snarled, the words that left her lips were dripping with accusation as she breathed heavily, trying to catch her breath with each word.
"Stella!" His voice boomed loudly this time.
"What? What is it?!" She snapped with frustration.
"Look," he began. "If Aurelia really wanted to expose our relationship, she would have already done so earlier," he reasoned and silence enveloped them both for a moment as she continued to look at him with wide eyes while her heart raced within her chest.
"So..." his voice trailed off. "The fact that she didn’t... means we have nothing to worry about," he assured her as the corners of his lips twitched upwards into a slight smile.
She lowered her head. "I don’t know..." she muttered under her breath. "I don’t trust that woman. I know she is up to something, we just don’t know it yet."
There was a brief pause before a thought popped into her head.
"Did you know that she was the one sponsoring our movie with her husband?" She questioned.
"No, I didn’t know. I am just as shocked and surprised as you are."
"Exactly," she remarked. "Why would she willingly sponsor our movie? And you heard what Catherine said, didn’t you? She was the one who reached out to her. Don’t you find it suspicious? I’m certain she is planning something."
He reached up to cup her face as he gazed into her eyes. "Don’t overthink it, Stella. Maybe it’s just a coincidence or maybe... she really wants to help," he suggested.
The smile on her face faded. "You must be damn naive to think that she would want to help you after what happened," she snapped. "You don’t know what she is capable of, things aren’t as simple as you think they are," she warned, her voice laced with a hint of concern and worry.
"I–" The sound of the notification going off echoed in the room, interrupting him. He glanced down at his phone screen and quickly locked it and shoved it back into his pocket. "Stella, babe... Someone needs me. We will talk again later, okay? I will see you later," he said in a hurry before rushing out of the dressing room, leaving her all alone.
Staring at the back of the door and the empty dressing room, doubt began to creep into her mind as her mind buzzed with thoughts and her imagination started to run wild. What could he possibly be up to? Why was he acting so suspicious?
Twisting the door knob, she opened the door and quietly followed behind him. But her footsteps quickly came to a halt and her face fell in an instant when she realised what she was looking at.
It was Blake and Aurelia smiling at each other as he had one hand on her shoulder.
"What are the two of you doing?!"
