Chapter 147: Chapter 147: What are you doing with my boyfriend?!

First Person POV, Moments earlier.

"Hey, Aurelia," I heard my name left his lips and I snapped my head around to find myself coming face to face with Blake.

He had a slight smile etched onto his face as we locked eyes and he started walking over towards me, stopping right in front of me. I raised my brow at him, a puzzled expression crossed my face for a split second.

"You are looking for me?" I asked as I pointed at myself and my mind started to buzz with thoughts, wondering what he could be the reason he came looking for me seemingly out of nowhere.

He quickly nodded. "Mhmm..." he murmured under his breath. "I wanted to talk to you about something," he said, his deep voice jolting me back to reality.

Typically, I would have walked away but something in his voice seemed genuine and I couldn’t sense any hostility coming from him, so I stayed right where I was as I let the words roll off the tip of my tongue.

"What is it?"

"I didn’t know that you were the main sponsor for this movie," he began, his tone still laced with a hint of surprise and disbelief.

A soft chuckle left my parted lips. "Well, now you do."

I turned to leave, thinking that was the end of the conversation but he called out to me once again, stopping me in my tracks.

"Aurelia."

I turned back around to meet his gaze this time. He stepped closer towards me, closing the gap between us, our faces were now merely inches apart from one another.

"Why did you do it?"

"What?" I questioned, clearly confused as I stared at him with a blank look etched onto my face.

"Why did you choose to sponsor the movie I am directing?" He asked again. This time, his voice seemed to carry a hint of hope as he kept his gaze steady.

I hesitated for a brief moment as silence stretched between us before I finally spoke up.

"Why not? I told you back then, I want to support your dreams of becoming a director, so that’s what I am doing," I lied as I let a smile grace my lips. Of course I wasn’t going to tell him that it was all part of my revenge plan. That I wanted to witness his downfall and ruin his entire life and career in the near future.

"Why didn’t you tell me?" He asked as a frown crept onto his face, resting between his brows. "I didn’t know that you were the one helping me, all along... I thought it was Stella," he admitted, his voice cracking towards the end of his sentence as he looked at me like I meant something to him once again.

I let out a breath. "I don’t need you to know that I am the one helping you...because I don’t need you to thank me..." I started, my voice trailing off. "I just want to give you that chance to achieve the dream you have been dreaming of as a little kid. That’s all."

There was a brief pause as silence enveloped us once again and I watched as emotions were running wild in his light blue eyes.

"I know how much this means to you. If Catherine didn’t insist on inviting me down to the set, I wouldn’t have come down," I told him when it was clearly a lie, because I agreed immediately the moment she asked, knowing that this was the best chance to catch them off guard and I would kill to see the looks on their faces when they find out that I was the one sponsoring the movie.

But one thing was that I would have never expected Blake to react like he is right now.

Without a single warning, he reached out and pulled me into a hug, my face colliding with his chest and he embraced me tightly. Instantly, my eyes widened as shock filled my eyes and a look of surprise crossed my face for a fleeting moment.

"Blake, what are you..." I muttered, the words that left my lips were dripping with disbelief and I quickly pushed him away from me. I looked up to meet his gaze as a tiny frown was resting between my brows. "Why did you hug me? What if people sees us and –"

He interrupted, cutting me off before I could finish my sentence. "I was just touched and happy that you –"

This time I was the one who cut him off abruptly.

"You know this doesn’t mean anything right? I know I said that I wanted to support your dreams but this is also an investment opportunity for me," I said curtly, snapping him back to reality with my harsh words. I wasn’t interested in rekindling anything, if there was even something there to rekindle in the first place...

"I’m sorry," he apologised immediately, very unlike his usual demeanour. "I understand. But..." He paused for a while as we locked eyes, the air crackling with unspoken tension.

He raised his arm up to put on my shoulder and I watched as the corners of his lips twitched upwards into a slight smile. "I just want to say... Thank you. Thank you for giving me the chance to do this," he said, his tone genuine as his eyes gleamed with sincerity, almost as if all the bad things that happened between us seemed to disappear and vanish into thin air.

I returned the smile as I looked at him.

It was at this moment when I heard a sharp high-pitched voice pierced through the air and reached my ears. Almost immediately, the smile on my face faded as I whipped my head around to find myself staring into a pair of familiar dark brown eyes while Blake quickly retracted his hand from my shoulder.

Standing not too far away from us, was Stella. There was a look of betrayal plastered across her face but that was quickly replaced with anger. Her eyes were wide and filled with a mixture of anger and rage as she marched over towards us, closing the distance between us in a few large strides.

She turned to face me and our eyes met. "What are you doing with my boyfriend?" She snarled, the words that left her lips were coated with a thick layer of venom as she glared at me with narrowed eyes.

I maintained my calm demeanour as I kept my gaze steady and my voice remained unwavering. "We were just talking about the movie," I replied casually as the corners of my lips curved upwards into a small smile.

"Then why the hell is my boyfriend touching you?!" She spat the words out like they were poison in her mouth, her words dripping with accusation.

A cold chuckle left my parted lips. "How is it my problem that your boyfriend is touching me?" I questioned with a raised brow as I looked at her with an incredulous look that was stretched across my face. "I can’t control his arms, can I?" I questioned sarcastically.

She clenched her jaws tightly and gritted her teeth. "You–!"

Blake spoke up this time as he grabbed her by her arm. "Stella, please calm down," he urged with a tiny frown etched onto his face.

She roughly yanked her arm out of his grasp.

"Stop telling me to calm down!" She shrieked loudly as she squeezed her eyes shut and her voice trembled with rage that was burning inside of her. She turned to meet his gaze this time and the words that left her lips seemed softer than usual as tears glistened in her dark eyes. "Why do you keep telling me to calm down? Why was your hand on her shoulder? Why were you smiling at her? What the hell were you doing talking to her, huh?!" She asked, hurling question after question right at him as hurt flashed past her eyes for a brief second.

Her questions rendered him speechless as he struggled to find the right words to say, a troubled expression masked his features. Before he could say another word, the sound of footsteps approaching us echoed in the place.

"What happened? We heard someone yelling."

I turned around to see Catherine looking at us, her eyes darting between all of us with a concerned look etched onto her face. Soon enough, more people appeared behind her with the same concerned and worried expression plastered across their faces as murmurs started to fill the air.

"Oh, it’s nothing," I said quickly, dismissing it. "Stella saw a bug and she got scared, that’s all," I said as I let a laugh emerge from my throat.

They looked doubtful but simply nodded anyway as Blake and Stella both chimed in, confirming my words.

"Anyway, thank you for coming today, Aurelia. Hope to see you on set again soon," Catherine said with a smile.

I smiled. "Yeah, of course I will be back."

She turned to look at Blake and Stella who seemed to be in a daze. "Well, Blake and Stella, we need you two back on set. We have a movie to shoot."

"Yeah, of course," Blake answered and walked towards them while Stella stood in the same spot.

"You guys go ahead first," she said before turning to look me in my eyes. "I want to say bye to Aurelia."
