Pampered by my Billionaire CEO Husband
Chapter 125: Where is she?

Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Where is she?

Third Person POV

A slight smirk tugged at the corners of her lips and a wave of satisfaction washed over her when she noticed the way Laura’s face darkened visibly in the next second. She was determined to make Aurelia pay for trying to get in between her and Blake and exposing her affair with another man in front of everyone.

"That bitch!" Laura yelled out loud, causing a few people to turn around and stare at them. "What the fuck did she do to my son?! What did she do!" She spat the words out like they were poison in her mouth.

"Honey, calm down," her husband urged as he held onto her shoulders. "People are looking," he pointed out but she didn’t care.

"Don’t tell me to calm down. I don’t care that people are looking, they can look for all they want!" She yelled, her shrill voice piercing through the tension that was brewing in the air. "I knew that woman was up to no good! She’s constantly out to get my son and ruin his future. Now she’s even trying to kill him?! I won’t let this go!" Her voice was shaking with anger as rage pulsed through every single vein inside her body and her heart was pounding loudly against her chest.

"Laura, honey, please..." Mark pleaded, his voice laced with a hint of desperation as his cheeks turned red from embarrassment.

It was at this moment when Stella stood up from her seat and wrapped her fingers around Laura’s arm, as if she was trying to comfort her and calm her down. She shook her head lightly as she spoke in a gentle tone.

"I’m sure Aurelia didn’t mean for it to happen, it was all just an accident," she started. "I know they didn’t exactly part on good terms but she wouldn’t wish for anything bad to happen to him," she said, pretending to speak up for her and defend her.

"You don’t have to defend her, Stella," she said as her gaze softened ever so slightly when their gazes matched. "That conniving woman knows exactly what she is doing! She did this on purpose, I’m certain she did!" She snarled with a disdainful scorn as her eyes were filled with contempt and hatred for her ex-daughter-in-law. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists tightly beside her body as she could not wait to avenge her son.

Stella lowered her gaze as she continued to mutter softly under her breath, putting on a pitiful look on her face. "This is all my fault, Auntie Laura. If it wasn’t for me then this wouldn’t have happened."

Laura quickly grabbed her hands, giving her a slight squeeze and the corners of her lips curved upwards into a reassuring smile. "Don’t say that," she urged. "I’m sure this isn’t your fault, don’t blame yourself, alright?"

A soft sigh escaped from Stella’s parted lips as she kept her gaze fixated on the ground as if it was the most interesting thing she had ever seen in her life. She began to sniffle as tears formed at the brim of her eyes, glistening under the bright white light that lit up the hospital corridors.

"But it is my fault... If Blake hadn’t gone to find Aurelia then she wouldn’t have chased him out and he wouldn’t have been knocked down by the car," she explained as a single tear fell down her cheek. "It’s... It’s all because... of me..." She stammered in between sobs.

Seeing Stella sobbed in front of her only tugged at her heart strings. Laura immediately took out a piece of tissue from her bag and gently dabbed the tears off her face but there was a tiny frown that was resting between her brows.

"What do you mean? Why would Blake look for her?" She questioned, her words seemed to be lace with accusation as she waited for Stella to say something.

Stella lifted her head to meet Laura’s intense gaze this time.

"She... she attacked me," she revealed, lying without even batting an eye.

Laura’s gaze widened with shock and surprise as she stared at her. "What?"

"She found out that Blake and I have been dating and she lost control of her temper and attacked me," she said then pulled up her sleeves to reveal the cuts on her arms and Laura’s eyes flickered down to look at the injuries on her arm, eliciting a soft gasp of surprise.

Even though she herself was the one who purposefully fell onto the road, she still managed to blame and accuse Aurelia effortlessly. "If I hadn’t told Blake about it, he wouldn’t have gotten mad and he wouldn’t have gone to find her. It’s all because of me, Auntie Laura..."

"Oh my god, you poor girl... This is not your fault," she comforted, pulling her into a hug and Stella couldn’t help but to feel a wave of satisfaction wash over her in an instant. "It’s all that woman’s fault. She was the unreasonable one. How dare she attack you for being with Blake when they have already divorced?!" She sneered with a disdainful scorn as her eyes were narrowed into thin slits.

It was at this moment when the doors to the operation theatre flew open and one of the surgeon’s assistants came rushing out in a hurry with a flustered look plastered across his face. "Are you the patient’s family?" He asked as they locked eyes, his eyes darting around anxiously.

Almost immediately, Laura’s demeanour shifted and she rushed over to ask about her son.

"Yes, yes, I’m his mother," she said as she nodded profusely. "Doctor, how is my son? Is everything going okay? Is he going to be fine?"

There was a grim expression on the man’s face before he said the next few words. "The patient is losing a lot of blood," he explained in a hurry. "Does anyone here have O- blood type?"

Laura’s eyes lit up in an instant, she would do anything to help her son, even if that meant that she would be putting her own health and life at risk.

"Me! Me!" She exclaimed loudly. "I can do it, you can take my blood," she volunteered willingly without a second thought.

"No," Stella butted in this time and they whipped their heads around to look at her with a puzzled look on their faces.

"What? What are you..." Laura’s voice trailed off.

Stella reached out to hold onto her hands as she gazed into her eyes with a sincere expression. "Let me do it," she declared. "I have O- blood type too, I can donate my blood to save Blake. I don’t want you risking your health, I should be the one doing it."

Laura squeezed her hands lightly as her lips curved into a smile. "Oh, Stella, my sweet angel. What can we do without you?"

Stella let a smile fall on her lips. "That’s the least I can do."

"Ma’am, please follow me," the man urged and Stella quickly rushed off with him and disappeared into the corner.

The surgery was a success.

Blake was now lying in the hospital bed, surrounded by machines beeping around him. His eyes were still shut and he had a serene expression that masked his features as his chest rose up and down steadily. His parents and Stella sat next to him with concerned looks on their faces as they waited for him to open his eyes.

As if on cue, Blake’s eyes fluttered open and he was immediately greeted by the bright white lights shining down on him. Their eyes lit up and they sucked in a deep breath the moment they saw him come to. "Blake!" His name left their lips, their voice laced with relief. "You are awake, oh gosh."

He tried sitting up but only ended up coughing as he grimaced in pain. "Where... where am I?" He questioned with a hoarse voice. A puzzled look was stretched across his face, and his voice was laced with a hint of confusion as his eyes wandered around the hospital ward and his mind raced with thoughts.. "Am I... in the hospital? What happened?"

Stella immediately leaned forward to grab onto his hand. "You were in a car accident," she informed him. "You just got out of surgery. You are okay now," she said as the corners of her lips curled upwards into a small smile.

He looked up to meet her eyes and his eyes widened as he immediately pulled his hand away from her, leaning back to create a distance between them. A frown crept onto his face, forming a deep crease on his forehead that peeked through the bandage that was wrapped around his head.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, his tone carrying a sharp edge to it.

Her brows immediately furrowed together to form a slight frown, confusion swimming in her dark brown eyes. "What do you mean? Why can’t I be here?"

"Why are you here? Where’s my wife? Where’s Aurelia?"
