Pampered by my Billionaire CEO Husband -
Chapter 109: The Plan
Chapter 109: Chapter 109: The Plan
I rang the doorbell and the sound of a cheery jingle echoed inside the house.
"Serena, I’m here!" I announced. Soon enough, I watched as the door swung open and was greeted by Serena who was standing in front of me with her two daughters following closely behind her, tugging at her legs, demanding her attention every 2 seconds.
Her long honey blonde hair was in a mess and she looked absolutely exhausted. She ran her fingers through her hair and let out a breath but her lips twisted upwards into a slight smile when our eyes met. "Hey, Aurelia, you are here. Come on in," she said, gesturing for me to walk through the door.
"You look exhausted," I pointed out the moment I stepped in, my voice laced with a hint of concern as I looked at her with my brows furrowed together, forming a slight frown to rest between my brows.
She let out a breath. "I am," she admitted then her eyes flickered down to glance at her two daughters who were looking up at her with wide doe eyes. "I love my daughters but they sure do keep me busy," she said as a soft chuckle escaped from her parted lips as she looked at them with a smile on her lips.
I let out a chuckle of my own as a smile graced my lips. "I’m sure these adorable buggers do." There was a brief pause as I let my eyes wander around, scanning the place as the door closed behind me. "Anyway, your husband isn’t home, right?" I asked, just to be sure.
She let out a long sigh with a defeated look that was plastered across her face. She lowered her gaze, her eyes filled with sadness and betrayal as the smile that was once on her face faded away.
"No, he isn’t. He left this morning for a business trip to Japan..." she explained with a bitter smile etched onto her face, now knowing that he is probably with the other woman, Stella. She lifted her chin to meet my gaze. "He left me all alone to take care of our two kids once again."
I let a smile fall on my face this time as I kept my eyes on her. "Who says you are alone?" I asked as the smile on my face grew wider. "I’m here to help," I said.
The words that left my lips put a smile on her face but she quickly shook her head within the next second. "Aurelia, I appreciate it but you cannot –"
I quickly interrupted her, cutting her off before she could finish her sentence. "Ah, don’t say no," I said with a smile lingering on my lips. "If you appreciate it, then just let me do it. You can buy me a drink later, deal?"
Her lips curved upwards into a smile this time as she relaxed a little, looking relieved for once.
"Deal."

We found ourselves sitting on the couch after I helped her put her daughters to sleep and tucked them into bed for their afternoon nap. She exhaled deeply as she leaned back into the seat. She turned to face me with a grateful smile on her lips.
"Thanks for helping me get them in bed... and with the cleaning. I don’t know what I would do without you. You are way too nice to me."
"Don’t say that, that’s the least I could do. Don’t worry about it, I’m still waiting for my drink, you know?" I teased, eliciting a laugh from her as she nodded.
"I will get you your drink," she said with a smile. "So, what was it that you wanted to talk about, anyway?" She asked as she arched an eyebrow at me.
I inched closer towards her, leaning in. "Well..." I started, my voice trailing off. "You know how we talked about the revenge plan? No one can know anything about it, we need to catch them totally off guard."
"Right, of course. Ever since the day you came to find me, every time he told me that he has to work overtime or that he has another business trip coming up in the next week, it’s tough but I pretended like I knew nothing. I simply nodded and smiled, assuring him that I would take good care of our daughters and the house, as usual."
"You are doing great, Serena. In the meantime, we need to collect more evidence of him cheating to help with your divorce procedures. I can’t wait for the day when we finally expose them to everyone," I said with a knowing look gleaming in my dark eyes and a satisfied smirk tugging at the corners of my lips.
She smiled. "I can’t wait for that day too, I can finally be free from him."
"Did he suspect anything so far? Or asked you anything?"
"He hasn’t for now, " she answered and the smile on her face slipped away. There was a pause as silence lapsed between us for a moment. She lowered her head and mumbled softly under her breath, fear evident in her shaky voice. "But I’m afraid he might find out one day. I know what he is capable of doing when he is angry and I don’t want to ruin it for you..."
I reached out and placed my hand on her shoulder and this time she looked up to meet my eyes. My gaze softened. "Don’t worry about ruining it for me. I know you know that part of the reason why I agreed to help you is also to get revenge on that woman who ruined my marriage, but more importantly, I want to help you whether I can get my revenge or not. And if you ever need anything, just know that I am one call away."
She smiled. "Thank you, Aurelia. You don’t know how much this means to me."
As soon as the words left her lips, the sound of her phone ringing echoed in the house and reached my ears. She leaned forward to grab her phone that was lying on the table, her eyes glanced down to look at the screen. She looked back up at me with horror swirling in the depths of her eyes as her heart raced inside her chest.
Her voice dropped to a hush tone.
"It’s my husband..."
