Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 140: John Enters
Chapter 140: John Enters
"Those two decided to give in to the greed," Hall Master Varek said. "That’s why those two did that."
Snorting, Executive Rudh added, "They became the dogs of the Lockam family."
Executive Rudh glanced at the Lokham family’s people as he finished speaking.
Inside the pavilion, the Lokham family’s head, the dark-blond-haired old man, flatly relayed to Hall Master Varek. ’Let’s not involve a foreign party in our conflicts, Varek. You should abide by the decision of your higher-ups.’
Hall Master Varek softly sighed. "In the end, it’s our fault. Let’s forget it. Getting John as your apprentice must be fate, Mr. Sirius. He is a talented kid with much potential."
"That I am sure of it," John said with a laugh.
[ Azelis: You’ve broken all records in the category of blowing your own horn. ]
Jibril laughed and couldn’t help but agree.
"Anyway, let’s get on the main topic now." John looked at Dreamforged Guild’s Aren Veiryn standing outside the pavilion. "Take out the Pet you wish to evolve and rank up."
Aren took out his pet monster right away as a blazing mantis with four wings and two scythe hands, having infernal black patterns with green wind-blade design.
It looked cute in the mini form, but it was a powerful peak Emperor-rank Pet Monster.
John vanished and appeared before the Pet.
The Sovereign-rank leaders stood up and turned to watch while others made space around John and Aren.
Waving his hand, John took out a fake artifact he created using Molding Essence, a crystal plate with a mystic blue surface where he would list out the evolution paths for this mantis.
Everyone extended their soul eye to observe the plate.
A second later, hazy letters began arriving on it before they became crystal clear in two seconds.
To make it less complicated and less suspicious that this was really an artifact and nothing more than that, John only showed three suitable options, and not the other special options, in a format of his design.
1. [ Twin-Headed Demonblaze Mantis ] - Legendary-rank Potential.
—> Demonblaze / Blackgust / Blade
2. [ Vitrex Coilthorn Mantis ] — Legendary-rank Potential.
—> Glassvenom / Staticflare / Thornwood
3. [ Umbershade Chrysalis Mantis ] — Mythic-rank Potential.
—> Shadowbloom / Deathsilk / Blightblade
"M-Mythic-rank Potential?!" Aren exclaimed. "Is that really possible?!"
The others were also dumbfounded.
"These evolutions are too exotic..."
’This is bullshit, right?’
The Tamers either muttered or magic whispered to express their feelings after reading the options.
On the other hand, John replied to Aren. "It’s indeed possible for your Pet Monster to rank up to Sovereign-rank as one of these three evolutions. Choose the option, and I’ll give you the list of resources you need for its evolution. As long as you bring the stuff here, I’ll craft the recipe and make sure your pet evolves perfectly."
"I choose the third option!" Aren chose without hesitation. Of course, he was going to choose the best option!
John nodded in response, and everyone saw the other two options vanishing from the plate.
In the next second, the plate cracked.
Everyone was suddenly startled.
"Did that break?!" Aren asked, shocked.
Right as he finished his question, the artifact shattered and vanished.
"..."
"..."
"..."
The deafening silence as everyone looked at Mr. Sirius was broken by his laughter.
"Relax. This is a one-time use artifact."
"But you said you can use it every month..." Tharos of the Blazebound sect retorted, confused.
"Yep. This artifact is a special product of the Vault Curio Traders. We can buy it every month," John said with a grin.
"Anyway, here’s the list," John said as he waved his hand, creating a scroll containing three Sovereign-rank resources required for its evolution, as well as other stuff and substitutes for its variant attributes."
"This list is detailed." Aren’s eyes shone.
The Dreamforged Guild’s leader also looked at the list and said a second later. "We have all the required stuff. Go and bring it here."
"Right away."
"I’ll send him out." John waved his hand and sent Aren out.
"It looks like the person you sent also returned," John said as he looked at the Duraian family’s head.
Soon, the Duraian family’s Emperor-rank Tamer returned and gave a storage ring to the family head, who then gave it to John.
"Thanks for your patronage."
Toranzil laughed in response. "We couldn’t be more glad to have business with you, Mr. Sirius."
"I guess you won’t tell us what you bought?" Kotin Lockham, the Lockham family head, spoke as he chuckled.
"Of course not," Toranzil said with a flat chuckle. "But I can tell you it’s an artifact."
"A powerful artifact," Arion added with a grin.
"Look at you, grinning like kids. Mr. Sirius, did you really give them such a good thing?"
John chuckled. "Everything I have is a good thing. Anyway, I wonder what business the rest of you have with me? Of course, except for the official merchant business that I won’t be doing."
"Or you were just here to see me keep good of my words regarding the evolution of Mr. Arion’s Pet?"
"I’m sure all of us are here to witness more of your surprises like your evolution, Arion’s Pet, haha." Spiritveil Sect’s leader chuckled.
"Indeed. That’s why we are here." Razorshade Syndicate’s leader nodded.
"Though, if you could tell us when you will select your second customer, we can be prepared." Skyban Sect’s leader quipped in, relaying everyone’s true question.
"To answer that question, I would need to wait for at least a week. In the meantime, I will be on a journey to find the best possible pet for my apprentice’s fourth pet, as he has broken through to Gold rank, so I’ll be leaving him in the Duraian family’s care while I am gone."
The leaders were surprised.
"When will you be departing, Mr. Sirius?" Stormjade Pavilion’s leader asked.
John chuckled and answered as he rubbed the mantis’s head. "Right after I am done evolving this cute mantis."
Mantis blinked at him curiously, feeling that this person gave off a very different vibe than others.
Ouroboros Hall’s Executive Jerelen wanted to say something, but before he could, Executive Rudh stopped him.
’Don’t, Jerelen. He is no longer our member, and he doesn’t wish to be, rightfully so. No need to ask Mr. Sirius about it and make our relationship worse.’
’True...but should we tell Mr. Sirius that the Lockham Family wanted to kill John?’
’No need. Lockham family won’t dare to make any moves on John now.’
’Hope so...’
’It’s Lockhams, humph.’ Jasmine snorted. ’They won’t kill him now, but might get one of their girls to honey-trap him.’
’I doubt it would work on John.’
...
Aren returned with the resources and all the things. Afterward, John took everything and vanished after saying he would return in a few minutes.
Everyone waited, mostly in silence, but speaking in magic whispers.
The people of other forces were curious about John, so they asked members of Ouroboros Hall about him.
No one could inspect John right now, so they couldn’t even feel the aura of his attributes using their soul eye.
They wanted to know who this guy was who managed to catch Mr. Sirius’s eye and became his apprentice.
’So he defeated Loren’s son, eh?’
’Blood and Metal Mastery, and even having fast progression with higher proficiency in such a difficult soul technique? How could you let this gem go?’
’He entered that focused state? It’s a pity you lost a promising kid like that, Varek.’
’Azelis and this kid...’
Some people from other forces who had a good relationship with Ouroboros Hall couldn’t help but lament that Ouroboros Hall lost two gems because of the Lockham Family.
Shortly, everyone saw Mr. Sirius returning with a vial.
"Alright, it’s time."
As he fed the vial to the mantis, everyone watched in anticipation.
Soon, that anticipation turned into pure shock and amazement as they saw a giant cocoon forming with aura, design, and patterns resembling the attributes they read!
It was going to evolve into a Sovereign-rank Umbershade Chrysalis Mantis with Mythica-rank potential.
The envy in everyone’s eyes couldn’t be hidden!
"Congratulations, Aren. A powerful Sovereign-rank as an Emperor-rank Tamer...you are going to give your enemies a nasty surprise."
Aren chuckled, clearly in a jolly mood as he looked at the cocoon. Turning to Arion, he said, "I’m sure Duraians will give an even nastier surprise with whatever they bought from Mr. Sirius."
"Just for your information, we bought two things," an Emperor-rank of the Duraian family said with a smirk.
John clapped twice, attracting everyone’s attention from the cocoon to himself.
"Now that my business activity is over, I shall take my leave. Please depart from the island."
After saying that, he looked at the Duraian family head, Toranzil, and added, "My apprentice will be with you shortly after you leave the island."
Toranzil nodded and looked at the Duraian family members. "Let’s go."
"Later than, Mr. Sirius."
The others also left after nodding at Mr. Sirius.
After everyone left the island and looked at it, they saw it vanish.
Putting everything inside Monster Paradise, John returned as his real body, floating with minimal use of Space and Gravity that made it infinitely easy for him to fly while using the minimum amount of energy.
"Hello, seniors," John said as he greeted Executive Rudh and others of Ouroboros Hall with a smile.
They looked at John with complicated expressions.
"John, we would like to apologize to you since we have a chance now."
Hall Master Varek bowed, startling everyone.
"It’s our fault that things happened the way they did," Executive Rudh sighed. "It was our carelessness."
The other three also nodded, regret clearly visible in their eyes.
"All is fine since I am alive."
"Wait, is that Space and Gravity Mastery you are using to stay afloat?" asked Razorshade Syndicate’s leader, a sharp-eyed man looking in his thirties as he eyed John with scrutiny.
The others were also observing him and were shocked.
"Space and Gravity on top of Metal and Blood?!"
"What the fuck?"
John, as modest as usual, grinned. "My Space Mastery just reached level 2, by the way."
Everyone was dumbfounded. They had already heard praise of this young man from Ouroboros Hall, just when they were on the island, but now they just found out he was more powerful than what Ouroboros Hall knew.
The Ouroboros Hall’s Tamers felt their livers turning green. Just two weeks ago, this gem of a prodigy was a member of their sect.
"So John, do you happen to know Executive Azelis’s location?" Kotin Lockham asked with narrowed eyes, his focus was also on Ouroboros Hall members.
"Nope. Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you jack shit," John said as he sneered, unafraid and daunting in the face of the Sovereign-rank Tamer. "It’s better if you forget about her."
’What the hell is wrong with this kid?’
’He’s clearly pissing them off.’
The other Tamers knew about the matter and looked at each other with shock.
What guts!
"Hahaha, it seems Mr. Sirius found one hell of an apprentice," Kotin said with a laugh, his eyes cold.
The Duraian clan’s head and others were eyeing the Lockham family.
They would naturally not let anything happen to John.
Still, they were dumbfounded by his guts to speak to a Sovereign-rank Tamer like that.
Turning around, Kotin waved his hand. "Let’s go."
The Lockam family left.
"Well, young John here is a Gold-rank Tamer, so surely he can participate in the upcoming tournament, right?" Duraian clan’s head said with a smile as he eyed the other leaders.
"I have no problem with that," Hall Master Varek said with a smile.
The others also didn’t object.
"None of us has any problem with him participating in it, as long as you bear his quota." Jadelight clan’s leader said.
"Of course. He’ll be one of the five participants from our Duraian family."
"Well then, it’s decided."
Everyone began leaving.
Executive Jerelen smiled and nodded at John. "Enjoy the Nexus City, John."
"Sure, I will."
...
Everyone went their own way.
John also arrived at the Duraian family’s estate, his new temporary home.
