Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 139: Big Profit
Chapter 139: Big Profit
’What should I give them next?’
John wondered as he looked at the shop.
But his eyes glinted as he thought of something. ’To get more information on the dynamics here, this item should be the best.’
John pulled out his hand while buying the item that cost him 380,500 Xhal Drops. But he was rich already since the Sovereign-rank resource he got from them should easily give him over one million Xhal Drops.
"This..."
"A Sovereign-rank Armor?"
Everyone looked at each other with a wry smile.
"You don’t like it?" John tilted his head.
"It’s not that," Toranzil said as he shook his head. "You see...there are some rules established here because of a higher level of conflicts. The higher-ups of our forces and the higher-ups of the Welshwing continent’s forces have made rules to keep things fair."
"Since we have Mysrin Archipelago’s center where the spirit anomaly there transforms normal islands into special dimensional islands filled with resources, and both parties fight for those islands, the higher-ups made the rules that each force can only have one Sovereign-rank Tamer, one Sovereign-rank Armor, and one Sovereign-rank Weapon."
"We Duraians already have two Sovereign-rank Armors, which is an exception, but not to the rules, as when competing for the islands, we aren’t allowed to use both Sovereign-rank Armors. Only I am allowed to use mine."
"I see..." John nodded as he rubbed his chin. "What if you break the rule?"
Toranzil weakly chuckled. "If we broke the rules and they got proof...the consequences would be an execution. The Tamers of both continents must fight for the resources fairly. If the higher-ups wanted all-out war, they could send a bunch of Sovereign-rank Tamers with Sovereign-rank Armor and Weapons here and fight, but that would be a loss to both sides, so the current system has been established for long-term competition and nurturing of Tamers."
"So I guess Sovereign-rank Armor is useless, eh?"
"Yes, I’m afraid," Arion answered with a wry smile. "Even if we want it, we can’t use it. Other forces may buy it to keep it, but we already have two, so..."
"Alright, let’s forget it then," John said with a chuckle and put the armor away. If not them, Azelis could always use it since she would break through to Sovereign-rank in the near future.
’Guess I’ll give them something unique.’
John put his hand into the portal again. "Let’s see what I get next."
Pulling his hand out the next second, everyone saw a black flag with a symbol of silvery talons with cyan wings.
"A flag?"
"Interesting."
"Well, this is a good item," John said with a grin as he handed the flag over to Toranzil.
"Check it out the same way you checked the box."
Toranzil nodded and nudged the flag with a bit of his soul energy.
Of course, without John’s permission, they couldn’t see the status of items.
’This one is a bit more expensive than the flag I saw previously, but its effect is worth it.’ John also checked the flag’s effects and internally nodded. It cost him 430,000 Xhal Drops, but he would make sure to get a worthy deal for it.
[Flag: Action Buster Mayhem]
Rank: Special
Effect:
—> The flag can be planted at any spot after infusing 100 soul energy, be it in air, water, earth, or anywhere. Once planted, the planter can select allies within the flag’s range of 5-kilometer radius, increasing the action speed of arms and legs by 30%, as well as increasing the movement speed via physical action or magical action by 30%.
"W-What?!" Toranzil’s eyes widened in shock.
The others also read the details, and their jaws dropped.
"This could help us a lot in the battle for seizing the Islands. The range is big enough, so multiple Tamers can benefit from this."
"Try it," John said as he gestured with his hand.
Toranzil struck the flag in the air, and it became stationary mid-air.
"So I just need to put that person’s image from my conciousness into the flag, and the flag inputs it as an ally? Some Spirit Phenomena really create advanced things."
"The Vault must have many such treasures," Arion sighed in amazement.
John chuckled. "You bet."
Turning to Toranzil, he added. "So? Do you want to buy it?"
"Absolutely, Mr. Sirius," Toranzil said in a firm tone and fiery expression. "This artifact can increase our force’s power considerably."
"Finally, the gaping hole made by the grandfather will be filled," Arion said as he clenched his fist.
"Oh? What happened?" John curiously asked.
Toranzil sighed. "My father, the previous family head, left with two of our Sovereign-rank Artifacts and has not been seen for a year now, putting us in a lower position amongst other forces here. He was supposed to go up a year ago, but disappeared somewhere."
"I see. Also, it seems you have limitations in keeping armor and weapons, but not in the number of Sovereign-rank Artifacts."
"That’s true. We do not have a limit on Artifacts we can keep, as we get them from islands and also lose them in fights. They are also prone to destruction since most artifacts are fragile, and those used during combat need to be protected, but in big fights, it’s hard to protect them sometimes."
"Understandable," John said with a nod. "Alright, let’s make a deal for this buff-type artifact then."
"Please, tell us." Toranzil nodded.
’Let’s get things Azelis needs for Sovereign-rank breakthrough, as well as some production boosters for the second island.’
"How about...100,000 Sovereign Essence Coins, and..."
[ Azelis: Ten, not five. At least, no less than ten. ]
’Alright.’
"And?" Toranzil blinked.
"Thirteen Sovereign-rank resources."
[ Jibril: Thirteen? Will they accept? ]
[ Azelis: They should. Technically, they are getting it cheaper because that artifact is very powerful and will win them more wars in the future, meaning they would get to explore more islands, and in turn get more resources and farm more Sovereign Essence Coins. Not to mention, they haven’t been getting much because of their overall power going down a bit. ]
’Well, since I am running an exclusive business where I choose customers, I should be a bit generous,’ John chuckled.
To him, he still profited over ten times because if he sacrificed the thirteen Sovereign-rank resources, he would get 15 to 20+ million Xhal Drops, depending on each resource’s potency.
Naturally, he didn’t plan to do that.
As for the 100,000 Sovereign Essence Coins, those were for the custom attribute trees. To boost the growth speed of those custom resources, he needed pure spirit energy, and what better resource than Sovereign Essence Coins for that?
On top of that, giving them good deals here means his apprentice, John, would be treated well, like a royal guest.
"Deal. We shall prepare the resources and coins right away."
After saying that, Toranzil looked at a middle-aged Emperor-rank Tamer.
"Mr. Sirius, he will bring the stuff here."
"Alright, I’ll send him out."
John waved his hand and used some Molding Essence to teleport the man off the island.
Toranzil’s eyes glinted. "Mr. Sirius, your space mastery feels even more mysterious than a Legendary-rank senior with space mastery I know up there. Perhaps, you have a Space attribute variant or an artifact that boosts your spatial prowess?"
"Let’s just say..." John smiled. "Both."
Well, he was using the power of Monster Paradise, so it was not his space mastery.
"Anyway, I suppose this is enough for our first business interaction," he added and leaned back with a carefree smile. "I shall finish one more task that I promised yesterday, so let’s invite the others inside."
Toranzil heartily laughed."As you wish. Our finances have decreased considerably with this transaction, so we shall recoup some of it before our second business interaction."
"I will have a connection maintained with my apprentice, so I can appear by his side anytime and also send some things, so if in case I want to sell something while I am away, he will present you with the product."
"Oh? If such a thing is possible, then we’d be more than glad, haha."
Outside, John had already told them to come in and remove the barrier.
As Sovereign-rank leaders arrived with their entourages of four to five Emperor-rank Tamers, they also saw John.
"It looks like Mr. Sirius changed the aesthetics of his abode."
"Hmm? Who is that kid? Don’t tell me..."
"He already found an apprentice? No way, right?"
"J-John?!"
"That’s John, right? I am not seeing wrong, right?"
"He’s John...you aren’t mistaken."
Executive Rudh, Korrat, Jasmine, and Jerelen were shocked.
Hall Master Varek’s brows creased, but he was also surprised. ’He is still alive?’
Frankly, with Jason, Tavros, John, and Jibril completely vanishing, they had no idea about their status.
"You know that kid?"
"Who is he?"
The others looked surprised.
As they arrived at the forest-themed open pavilion with comfortable seats, John smiled. "It seems some of you know the apprentice I found."
"Mr. Sirius, he is the one I talked about yesterday," Executive Rudh said with a wry chuckle. "John Wicked, the kid who was our sect’s member."
"I didn’t ask about his past, and he didn’t deem it important, which is perfectly fine with me," John said with a chuckle.
"But why don’t we hear it since the topic is open?" Dreamforged Guild’s Aren said with a smile. "That is, if Mr. Sirius doesn’t mind. I can wait a bit before you evolve my Pet Monster."
"Very well, please tell us the tale then," John said as he nodded at Executive Rudh.
Executive Rudh looked at Hall Master Varek, who candidly nodded. "No need to hide anything."
Hearing that, Lokham’s family head and Loren’s eyes flickered.
Executive Rudh didn’t hide anything or create a different narrative.
He told the exact truth and even took out a crystal that showed evidence Azelis left, showing Jason and Tavros’ conversation.
"Why did those two do that?" John curiously asked, despite already knowing the culprit.
As John finished speaking, some eyes visibly shifted.
