Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 138: Business
Chapter 138: Business
"It appeared."
"Let’s go."
The Duraian clan’s entourage of five people, headed by their Sovereign-rank leader, moved towards the floating island as it appeared.
The people of other forces were nearby as well and nodded at each other.
After the Duraians went onto the island and landed, the other forces actually followed up.
But they didn’t enter.
"Mr. Sirius, may we enter to observe the business deal?"
In response, a barrier appeared that covered the island completely, creating a transparent dome.
The eyes of sovereign-rank tamers shook as they felt the barrier’s aura, while the Emperor-rank Tamers moved back at the life-threatening danger they sensed from the barrier.
John spent 2.6 million Molding Essence to create this barrier capable of stopping peak Sovereign-rank attacks and releasing attacks capable of killing Sovereign-rank.
Naturally, the amount of attacks the barrier could release was very limited, so the barrier was a warning show and another one of Mr. Sirius’s capabilities.
Outside, Mr. Sirius’ hologram appeared as it extended from the barrier, and a casual and carefree smile was on his face.
"The business dealings I do are private. No one else but my business partner and I are allowed to partake in it. If you wish to visit me, wait until we are done."
After saying that, the hologram vanished.
"The fellow is gusty, that’s for sure," said the Sovereign-rank leader of the Jadelight clan, a beautiful woman with silky white hair and a shapely figure covered by a silver-blue layered dress.
"He is suspected to have a Legendary-rank monster from the conversation we had yesterday. Even if he can summon it for just ten seconds, it would be enough to wipe us out."
"I doubt he would do that. In the first place, a master of space like him, who travels across stars, probably using a bunch of artifacts and his own mastery, must not fear getting trapped."
"Indeed. Anything goes wrong, he could just escape."
"Anyway, it seems we are waiting, so I’ll go have some drinks."
...
On the other hand, Duraians arrived at the center of the island but were startled at the changes.
There were two additional buildings, and the aesthetics and decorations of trees and plants changed.
Most strikingly, they saw a black-haired young man meditating atop a boulder beside the new building, where the area seemed like a training ground.
"Who is that?"
"Don’t tell me he found an apprentice overnight?"
"A random kid?"
"Shsss," Arion glared at the other three Emperor-rank Tamers.
’Fools. Turn on your brains and stop farting from your mouths.’
The leader of this Duraian family scolded the three Emperor-rank Tamers. He was a purple-haired and bearded middle-aged man with a bulky warrior’s physique, his skin pale white and eyes ocean blue.
Torazil Duraian.
"Welcome."
The group heard the sound as they continued walking towards the pavilion to the left after crossing the water bridge.
Seeing Mr. Sirius sitting at the table under the new forest-themed pavilion, built with twists and twirls of real plants and trees.
Real wooden table with leaf-made cups. The chair with soft couches of a flowerbed even had a comfort-providing effect, and adjustable seating according to their size and sitting style.
John was experiencing a massage as he wanted to feel comfort after suffering a round of hell thanks to the Gravity/Space fruit he ate.
Hence, this new pavilion.
"A pleasant change in the abode is good once in a while, haha."
Toranzil said with a chuckle as he sat down across from John.
Instantly, his eyebrows jumped as his ass got a comfortable massage.
"Wonderful chair, Mr. Sirius."
"Why, thank you."
Everyone was wondering why Mr. Sirius was leaning back with a blissful expression and eyes closed, but they understood the moment they sat on the chairs.
Opening his eyes, John sat up and smiled at Toranzil. "I wonder if your higher-ups enjoyed the show yesterday."
Toranzil blinked before he burst into laughter. "It seems nothing hides from you."
Chuthulos had informed John that there were more spectators watching him. After all, Arion’s and Toranzil’s connection via the one-time use item they used couldn’t be hidden from Chuthulos.
"Yes, I have to make sure nothing hides from me," John said with a smile before he raised his hand and stretched it to his left as it entered a dark silver portal.
Everyone’s eyes focused there.
"Let’s start our business," John said as his smile turned to a grin, and he pulled his hand back.
Seeing the thing that Mr. Sirius pulled, everyone got confused.
But John let out a chuckle as he spoke.
"Well, well, it seems you are lucky for this to appear first."
"Oh?" Toranzil blinked.
John sent the box towards Toranzil.
"Look at it, and slightly nudge it with your soul energy."
Toranzil curiously did as told, and instantly, hazy letters appeared in his head that soon became clear.
[ Super-Tier Soul Technique Selection Box ]
1. Eclipserend Pulse - ( Achromatic Darkness/Blacklight ) - Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
—> Releases a pulse from the user’s soul that erases all light-based and radiance-type energies in a 500-meter radius for 10 seconds, plunging the battlefield into absolute darkness. All enemies with attributes that have aspects of Light suffer the loss of all senses and a 50% weakening in soul power.
2. Chronowound Spiral Blitz - ( Chronozone / Temporal Whips / Thunderblitz ) - Difficulty: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
—> When struck by a fatal blow, the user’s soul automatically twists time in a localized 3-second rewind, undoing the damage and reverting the surrounding 10-meter space to its prior state. Afterward, release a destructive temporal thundercloud within 50 meters of the area, creating a void zone raining with destructive whips that deal constructive damage.
3. Gun Gale Execution – (Windrazor / Blazecraft / Bullet Hail) - Difficulty: ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
—> Unleashes a hail of bullets, all composed of a variety of flame-based explosions boosted by wind. The bullets are numbered 100,000 in the salvo and can increase based on the user’s mastery. The bullets’ explosion variety and destructive potency depend on the user’s mastery and craft.
"What the...this..." Toranzil felt disbelief. "Are you saying I am supposed to choose one of the three soul techniques I am seeing?"
He even felt this was fake.
"If you decide to buy it, yes. You can choose which soul technique you want. And let me tell you that buying this soul technique box is special. Any soul technique you select, you will be able to feel the attributes. The soul technique’s medium itself will have true imprints of the attributes. If one is determined and has patience, one could awaken mastery of these attributes."
John wasn’t lying. This Super-tier Box indeed had such a specialty.
However, the imprints’ auras were not as effective as the resources of the said attributes. Far from it.
So it could take years or decades, and most take that much as not everyone had facilities like John’s second island, which could grow custom attribute trees to bear fruits of desirable attributes.
But Toranzil was uberly excited.
For the tamers, if they could awaken more powerful attributes to increase their arsenal of powers, they would gladly do so.
After all, Emperor-rank Tamers could live over a thousand years, and Sovereign-rank Tamers could live five times more than Emperor-rank Tamers.
Many Tamers get stuck in those ranks, so there were many such old Tamers, and they usually meditated and stayed in the wilds in hopes of mending and refining their souls to one day attain a breakthrough after many failures.
"I wish to buy it. But I can’t think of an appropriate price for this," Toranzil said, his grin like a teenager’s excitement. "And before we begin, allow me to present you with this."
He already felt that bringing that Growth-type treasure was worth it because the Soul Techniques were all essentially growth-type and the soul techniques he just read were supremely powerful. Most importantly, if he acquired mastery of those attributes, he could modify and improve the technique further!
"Here, please take this Spirit Absemenal Clay."
John’s eyes twinkled. ’My second gun is here. A gun for Space and Gravity, while the other one is for Blood and Metal. Or wait, I should just make this new gun with all four attributes since I can.’
John internally nodded the more he thought about it.
"Thank you very much. I sometimes feel embarrassed to ask for gifts, and even more so when I receive something good," John said with a light chuckle. "But what can I do? It’s the organization’s rules. Without organization, we couldn’t provide you with such fine treasures."
"Please," John added as he gestured. "Select the soul technique you desire. I am sure we will reach a good deal afterward that satisfies both of us."
"If you say so, Mr. Sirius." Toranzil didn’t hesitate and selected Chronowound Spiral Blitz.
"I shall attain mastery of this." Toranzil’s eyes were fiery as he looked at the scroll that appeared in his hand.
"Congrats, old man. You better master this now that you said it," Arion said with a grin.
"Bastard, you are also training with me on this. Mr. Sirius, it’s possible for two people to sense the attributes, right?"
[ Azelis: Old man is ambitious, huh? ]
[ Jibril: Tsk, I thought he would select the Ecliperend Pulse since it only has two attributes and is also fairly high difficulty. ]
"It’s indeed possible for multiple people to sense the attributes," John said with a reassuring smile.
Toranzil nodded and put away the scroll. "Now then, Mr. Sirius. Please tell me the price."
"The price can be strange. For instance, now that I have selected my apprentice, I would like for him to have some good adventures here and let him earn something himself," John said as he turned to look at his own clone.
"We suspected as much but didn’t expect you would find an apprentice so soon," Toranzil rubbed his beard as he observed the Astral Phantom and tried to probe, but failed.
’It looks like we are not even allowed to probe his basic parameters.’
’But his appearance looks like he is in his twenties. Must be a Gold-rank Tamer at least.’
People of Ouroboros City knew John, but the rest of the world didn’t know, especially the big shots.
"Well, I was roaming around some islands and found him fighting for his life with his Monster Pets. Haha, suffice to say, he and his Pets left an impression on me."
"So I am going to find the most exotic pet with the highest potential possible for him as his 4th Pet while I leave him in your care. Plus, one Sovereign-rank resource of your choice. How about that?"
Everyone at first didn’t understand, but a moment later, they were stunned.
"Is this the price for the Soul Technique I just chose?" Toranzil asked, wanting to confirm. His eyes betrayed the hint of disbelief he was feeling.
"Indeed, that’s the price."
Everyone gulped and glanced at each other.
It was utterly cheap!
Taking care of the kid was nothing, and the real cost in their eyes was just one Sovereign-rank resource.
John also knew he was selling it cheap, but he wanted to show his generosity from their point of view, while for him, this deal couldn’t be better than this.
"Oh yes, I would also like for him to participate in whatever events you all have if he qualifies for it."
John added in a carefree tone.
"Of course, that’s given." Arion vehemently nodded.
"Well then, let’s move to the second business deal."
John stretched his hand as it entered the portal again, and everyone’s focus shifted.
