Overbearing CEO's Contract Love -
Chapter 438: Inspection
Chapter 438: Inspection
"Tomorrow, I’m going to Peach Blossom Town. Do you want to come along?" Damien Sterling asked in the car, pulling Emma Hart’s mind back from her nostalgic thoughts.
"I want to go!" Emma Hart replied without hesitation. She missed the beautiful scenery there and, more importantly, she craved the delicious chicken dishes, a stark contrast to the bland food she had been eating recently.
"Little foodie," Damien Sterling teased, instantly seeing through her thoughts.
Early the next morning, the driver and Assistant Lee were already waiting respectfully outside for them. After packing some clothes for the trip, they quickly left City A.
The greenery along the road was something Emma Hart had grown accustomed to. Having taken this journey several times, she was familiar with the route and knew what to expect at each stop.
By around 5 PM, they arrived at Peach Blossom Town. The old man was waiting at their usual stopping point, his innocent smile lighting up when he saw them.
As they got out of the car, he greeted each of them with a bow, "Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Lee, welcome."
"Sir, we’re imposing on you again," Emma Hart replied with a smile.
After exchanging pleasantries, the old man led them to the newly built villa-style hotel. They passed the old guesthouse and walked through a small grove before arriving at a large area of uniform wooden villas, surrounded by blooming peach blossoms.
"You really did a great job; the villas are finished so quickly," Emma Hart exclaimed, astonished by the transformation before her eyes.
Damien Sterling smiled proudly, "Of course. Sterling Group works with high efficiency."
"All the wooden houses are decorated the same way. Area C is fully occupied, while Areas A and B are empty," the old man explained.
"Occupied? Are there tourists already?" Emma Hart asked, a bit surprised since she thought the place wasn’t officially open yet.
"It’s the management trainees from Sterling Group here for their training," Damien Sterling said, signaling to Assistant Lee to move their luggage to Area A. He then asked the old man to take a rest.
Emma Hart and Damien Sterling followed Assistant Lee and the driver into the villa. The house was spacious, with two units per floor and could accommodate eight people.
Assistant Lee carried their luggage to a south-facing room on the second floor and then left.
Emma Hart eagerly opened the window. From this position, she could see the mountain they had once climbed and could faintly make out the silhouette of the tower on the summit.
After settling in, Damien Sterling left with Assistant Lee, leaving the tired Emma Hart alone in the room. She closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of nature, the chirping of birds, and the rustling of insects, feeling the peace of the surroundings. Suddenly, she heard the laughter of girls approaching from a distance.
Frowning, Emma Hart opened her eyes, annoyed by the disturbance. "Who is it? Ruining my peace," she muttered to herself. Curious, she looked out the window and saw a group of girls in trainee uniforms from the Sterling Group playing and taking pictures around the villas.
"It’s the Sterling Group’s trainees," Emma Hart murmured. One of the three girls opposite her, who was taking selfies, noticed Emma and looked surprised. "Emma!" she called out, quickly jogging over to Emma’s window.
"Riley! What a coincidence!" Emma recognized her immediately as she approached.
Riley Turner cheerfully invited Emma to join them. Bored in the house, Emma quickly changed out of her wrinkled clothes and went down to meet them.
The other two girls walked over curiously.
"Let me introduce you, this is Mrs. Sterling, our CEO’s wife! Say hello!" Riley announced proudly.
"Mrs. Sterling, hello!" The two girls’ eyes widened in shock as they looked at Emma in her casual sportswear.
Emma smiled and nodded.
"Miss Hart, this is Kitty and Linda, my colleagues and fellow trainees," Riley introduced.
The two girls stood there, still and nervous, worried that their noise might have disturbed Mrs. Sterling.
"It’s okay, you all go ahead and have fun. I just came out for a walk," Emma said, preparing to head towards a quieter area. Playing with the company’s trainees might not sit well with Damien Sterling.
"Oh, Emma, aren’t you going to join us?" Riley asked. Emma felt a bit embarrassed, as she had just promised to play with them.
"Uh, I just remembered something I need to do, so I can’t join you. Have fun!" Emma said, nodding to the three girls before walking away.
As she turned, she accidentally bumped into a woman in high heels.
"Who is it?" the woman frowned.
"Sorry, sorry, it wasn’t intentional," Emma quickly apologized.
The woman looked up, and Emma recognized her immediately. It was Lucy Allen.
"Director Allen, you’re here too?" Emma found the day full of surprises.
"Mrs. Sterling! Long time no see. Here, I’m managing these kids," Lucy Allen replied cheerfully.
"Of course," Emma said awkwardly, scratching her head, wondering how to make her exit.
"By the way, Mr. Sterling is in the front yard. Shall I take you to him?" Lucy Allen offered.
Emma quickly waved her hand, "No, thank you. I’m just strolling around."
Lucy gave her an understanding look, "Alright, but be careful. The area ahead is still under development and can be dangerous. Why don’t we walk together for a bit?"
Seeing Lucy’s enthusiasm, Emma couldn’t refuse and agreed.
Emma led Lucy in a roundabout way, avoiding the area where she had encountered Riley.
Curious about Riley’s performance, Emma asked, "Lucy, is there a trainee named Riley Turner in this group?"
"Hmm?" Lucy Allen rested her chin on her hand, looking at Emma Hart with interest. She continued, "Yes, that’s right, the daughter of the Turner Group? Why do you ask?"
Emma Hart was startled. So Lucy Allen knew about her. It wasn’t surprising, considering Lucy was Riley Turner’s teacher.
"Oh, I was just asking casually," Emma Hart replied.
