Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 371: Thrilling Moments

Chapter 371: Thrilling Moments

"Oh? Tell me, why do you think it’s far-fetched?" Mr. Sterling Senior asked.

"The ball making it into the hole, as you said, depends directly on the force of the hit, of course, with some emphasis on precision; the success of my life should depend on whether I manage my career with dedication. Women are not the direct cause of my success; they don’t play a crucial role," Damien Sterling replied.

"You—" Mr. Sterling Senior began, but Damien interrupted him.

"Moreover, Grandpa, Emma Hart didn’t do anything wrong this time. On the contrary, I think she did nothing wrong. Her willingness to set aside the pressure of her status to play with the children shows she has a caring heart. A person who loves children can’t have a bad character. It’s those women with an overblown sense of superiority, relying on their noble birth, dressing up flamboyantly, yet secretly committing all sorts of evil deeds, who are truly the ugliest inside. I don’t think you would want me to marry such a woman, would you?" Damien’s tone was very calm, but he could feel his heart pounding, making him uncomfortable.

Mr. Sterling Senior chuckled, waved his hand, and said, "Alright, no need to say more, do as you wish! You’ve grown up; Grandpa can’t control you anymore!"

He knew it was useless to argue with Damien Sterling any longer. He was at fault and could no longer make decisions for Damien as he did when he was a child.

"Today, let’s have a good game of golf!" Mr. Sterling Senior continued.

Damien Sterling nodded.

Since taking over Sterling Group, Mr. Sterling Senior had been living a life of leisure, while Damien Sterling was busy with the company and his family, leaving little time to visit him. It’s rare to meet, so it’s better not to argue.

Emma Hart was in the main building’s beauty spa getting a full-body massage. However, worried about Damien Sterling, she couldn’t relax, frequently glancing at her phone. She had just sent Damien a message asking about the situation, hoping for a quick reply.

Even as her massage ended and she entered the milk bath, there was no response from Damien.

No news is good news, she thought. Emma Hart threw her phone aside and tried to relax in the bath. But within minutes, she grabbed her phone again, endlessly scrolling through social media, hoping he might post something.

Over two hours passed, and the sun was setting. Damien Sterling and Mr. Sterling Senior, sweaty from their game, entered the bathhouse. Emma Hart finished her VVIP massage service, changed into sportswear, and sat in the lobby waiting for Damien.

Seated in the VIP lounge, a cheerful hostess served her a cup of coffee. Emma Hart’s fingers tapped nervously on the glass table. Suddenly, she had a realization.

How could I be so stupid?

She immediately picked up her phone and called Damien.

It connected! "Hello?" Damien’s voice came through, sounding lazy, indicating nothing was wrong.

"Hi, Damien, how did things go?" Emma Hart asked anxiously.

"It’s all good now; we’re on our way back," Damien Sterling said.

"Okay," Emma Hart replied, relieved, and hung up the phone.

Just as she closed her eyes, she suddenly opened them wide.

Wait a minute! What did he just say? "We"? Could it be!

On the other side, Mr. Sterling Senior walked up to Damien Sterling.

"Was that Emma?" Mr. Sterling Senior asked.

"Yeah," Damien Sterling nodded.

"She’s here too, huh? Great, let’s all have dinner together tonight. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up my two precious great-grandsons!" Mr. Sterling Senior laughed, thinking about the adorable little ones. He hadn’t seen them in a while and wondered if they had grown chubbier.

In the lobby, Emma Hart paced back and forth nervously. What if Mr. Sterling Senior scolds her?

"Emma!" Damien Sterling’s voice sounded especially warm to her at that moment.

She turned and saw Mr. Sterling Senior and Damien Sterling walking towards her.

"Hello, Grandpa!" Emma Hart greeted Mr. Sterling Senior.

"Good, good! Are you hungry? Let’s all go eat!" Mr. Sterling Senior said, smiling warmly at Emma Hart.

"Okay!" Emma Hart replied, feeling relieved. It seemed Damien Sterling had resolved everything.

Mr. Sterling Senior had his assistant book a restaurant while Damien Sterling and Emma Hart went to pick up the children from the early education center.

The dinner location was a seaside restaurant, close to Green Mountain Retreat.

Soon, they arrived at the restaurant, styled in Greek architecture with refreshing blue and white tones.

"Kids, say hi to Great-Grandpa!" Emma Hart held the hands of the two adorable little ones.

"Gabriel, Joshua!" Mr. Sterling Senior was overjoyed, seeing how much the kids had grown. They were not only chubbier but also able to walk now.

"Da, da grandpa!" The two kids spoke in unison, their baby teeth not fully grown, their words still a bit unclear, but it was enough to make the old man very happy.

Mr. Sterling Senior went up and showered his great-grandchildren with kisses and hugs.

"Mr. Sterling, shall we start serving the food?" the waiter asked.

"Yes," replied Damien Sterling, usually reserved and cold, but today he even uttered two words, showing he was in a good mood.

Back at the table, Damien Sterling and Emma Hart sat opposite Mr. Sterling Senior, with the two children in high chairs.

The food resembled the seafood feast Mrs. Harrington had once prepared for them on the island. Interestingly, Mr. Sterling Senior shared some similarities with Mrs. Harrington, not in appearance but in mannerisms.

During the meal, Mr. Sterling Senior focused solely on the food, not discussing business or personal matters.

"Emma, let me toast to you. From now on, we’ll be relying on you to take care of this family," Mr. Sterling Senior said, raising his glass. He had observed how Emma Hart constantly poured water for them and took care of the children during the meal. The children’s ability to eat independently at such a young age spoke to good upbringing, further convincing him that Emma was trustworthy.

Emma Hart quickly raised her glass and toasted back to Mr. Sterling Senior.

Damien Sterling felt a weight lift off his shoulders.

After dinner, Mr. Sterling Senior headed back to rest. He suggested the children stay with him for the night, and seeing how much they enjoyed being with their great-grandfather, Damien and Emma agreed, though they felt a bit reluctant.

Since they were close to Green Mountain Retreat, Damien and Emma decided to check on Ryan Garcia, who hadn’t come to Sterling Group that day. Worried something might have happened to him, Damien called Ryan Garcia. After several rings, Ryan finally answered.

"Hello?"

It was Ryan Garcia, but his tone seemed off.

"Why didn’t you come to the office today?" Damien Sterling asked.

"You finally called me! I thought you didn’t want me anymore!" Ryan Garcia’s tone was akin to a sulky teenager who had run away from home.
