Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 336: My Life, My Choices

Chapter 336: My Life, My Choices

Logan Harrington swiftly pulled Amelia Davidson onto the yacht, ready to leave the island.

"Wait, what about Emma and the others?" Amelia suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"Don’t worry, they’ll be fine," Logan reassured her, tugging her onto the yacht. The engine roared to life, and the sound caught the attention of Mrs. Harrington.

She hurriedly left the dance floor, but was quickly swallowed by the crowd, unable to move.

"Goodbye!" Logan called out, extending his arm in a farewell gesture towards the island.

On the yacht, aside from the driver, it was just Logan and Amelia.

Away from Mrs. Harrington, Amelia finally breathed a sigh of relief. The conversation with her had left Amelia feeling flustered. This was a welcome change, but unease still lingered in her heart.

"Logan, won’t your grandmother have something to say about this?" Amelia asked.

"Don’t worry, I do this all the time," Logan replied. He was used to Mrs. Harrington’s nagging. Logan Harrington’s life was his own, and no one could dictate it—except, perhaps, Amelia.

On the yacht, under the soft glow of the lights, they passionately embraced, their love unwavering.

Back on the island, Mrs. Harrington was having a great time. Damien Sterling and Emma Hart were in a small cabin on the island, their children sleeping soundly beside them. Remarkably, the kids were able to sleep through all the noise and excitement outside.

Emma Hart, on the edge of sleep, found herself unable to fully drift off due to the noise. With Mrs. Harrington’s exuberance inside, Damien Sterling had no control over the situation. However, he could escape it. Everything was for the sake of his wife and children.

Damien contacted the island’s service center and arranged for another yacht. They took it to a nearby unoccupied island to rest.

Finally, in a place where they could properly relax, Emma gently settled the baby down before collapsing onto the bed, completely exhausted.

"Emma Hart?" Damien Sterling gently shook her. She still hadn’t taken a shower.

"Mm..." Emma was already fast asleep, oblivious to everything around her.

Emma Hart had always dreaded meeting elders, especially those with such an imposing presence. Now, finally away from that tense atmosphere, her tightly wound nerves began to relax.

"Fell asleep so quickly?" Damien muttered as he gently adjusted Emma’s position, changing her into her pajamas.

If Emma knew, she would blush furiously and accuse Damien of being a rogue.

As night fell, Logan Harrington and Amelia Davidson’s yacht had already docked. They had dozed off for a bit in the middle of the sea.

"Ah-choo!" Amelia sneezed.

Logan quickly took off his waterproof jacket and draped it over her, touching her forehead to check for a fever.

Her forehead was warm—probably from catching a chill while sleeping on the yacht. She had only been wearing a thin tank dress.

Logan slapped himself. The yacht’s speed and the cool night air—how could he have forgotten to take care of Amelia?

"Logan, why are you hitting yourself?" Amelia asked weakly.

She felt miserable, her body cold while her throat burned as if on fire.

"I’m sorry... it’s my fault for not taking care of you," Logan said, guilt heavy in his voice.

Amelia suddenly smiled, tapping Logan’s forehead. "Silly boy, there’s nothing to apologize for. I should have taken better care of myself, so you wouldn’t have to worry."

Her words only deepened Logan’s guilt.

He pulled her into his arms, his voice firm and resolute. "You don’t need to take care of yourself. I’ll take care of you."

Amelia closed her eyes, soaking in the warmth of his words.

"Okay," she murmured, lightly patting his strong, supportive back.

"Come on, let’s go back to bed," Logan said, standing and taking her hand.

"It’s so late. Won’t we be exhausted if we rush back to Vana Mountain?" Amelia protested.

Logan’s occasional lack of maturity was evident.

"Right... then let’s get a room nearby," Logan suggested with a mischievous grin.

"I’m still sick! Go get me some hot water, now!" Amelia playfully kicked him.

"Yes, my queen!" Logan responded joyfully.

As long as he was with Amelia, it seemed he was willing to do anything.

Meanwhile, at the island party, Mrs. Harrington was still dancing, toasting, and even flirting with a few young men. She seemed to have completely forgotten about Logan Harrington and Amelia Davidson sneaking away.

It wasn’t until everyone else had fallen asleep that Mrs. Harrington finally stopped. She took a freshly brewed cup of tea from a servant and sat in the cabin, listening to the servant’s report on Logan Harrington’s whereabouts.

"That silly grandson of mine thinks he can escape my grasp..." Mrs. Harrington’s confident smile widened. She had always known Logan’s every move, down to what he wore and what he ate.

Logan and Amelia booked a room at the nearby Xiangdao Hotel. As soon as they hit the bed, Logan fell into a deep sleep.

Amelia, however, lay awake, staring at the light filtering through the curtains. She couldn’t stop thinking about Mrs. Harrington’s question from earlier that evening: Didn’t she feel insecure being with Logan?

Logan’s ability to protect her from other men and peel shrimp for her at dinner aside, he seemed inept at everything else. Tonight, he had even let her catch a chill. But that didn’t change her feelings.

Despite Logan’s occasional carelessness and childish tantrums, Amelia loved him for it. His clumsy protectiveness was utterly charming.

The next morning, Mrs. Harrington called Logan bright and early. The phone rang, playing music, but Logan didn’t answer.

"That brat! How dare he not answer my call!" Mrs. Harrington fumed.

"Damien, you’re staying at the same place as Logan, right? Let’s head back together and catch him—or rather, wait for him!" Mrs. Harrington said to Damien Sterling, who was eating breakfast beside her.

"Of course, Madison," Damien replied respectfully.

When Mrs. Harrington made a decision, there was no changing it.

Emma Hart, listening to the conversation, felt a sense of panic. She dreaded spending extended periods with elders!
