Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 152: He Would Never Fuck You!

Chapter 152: He Would Never Fuck You!

As night fell and the hall filled with guests, Emma Hart busied herself with serving her table, balancing plates and pouring drinks with diligence.

Yet, her focus remained constantly on Sophia Greenwood and Damian Sterling’s table, seizing every chance to glance over, especially at Sophia’s glass, fearing she might slip something into Damian’s drink without notice.

Before long, the host approached with a wine glass in hand, making a beeline for Damian’s table to offer a toast.

Their enthusiasm when facing Damian was noticeably warmer than towards others, with an elderly gentleman even grasping Damian’s hand, engaging in animated conversation.

Emma couldn’t help but observe Damian’s reaction, only to find his expression unchanging and somewhat cold, a stark contrast to the elderly man’s warmth.

Internally criticizing Damian for his pretense, Emma was jolted back to reality by an impatient guest, "Are you going to pour the drink or not? Hurry up, they’ll be coming over to toast soon. Do you want me to be embarrassed with an empty glass?"

Snapped back to her duties by the displeased voice, Emma hastily apologized and filled the guest’s glass.

Just as she was about to catch her breath, a low voice from behind whispered, "Go over there, I’ll cover for you in a bit. Sophia Greenwood might make her move soon."

So soon? That woman really was in a rush.

With a scornful smirk, Emma glanced subtly towards Damian’s table, and indeed, saw Sophia Greenwood sneaking something into a new glass she was pouring water into, all while being shielded by a companion.

Disgusted by Sophia’s audacity to drug Damian in front of everyone, Emma glared at her, teeth clenched in anger.

It took a strong push from Ava Garcia to move her closer to the table, where Ava, shielding Emma, pretended to accidentally overturn the tray of glasses she was holding.

"Oh, I’m so sorry, truly, my apologies, miss. It wasn’t intentional!" Ava performed her part flawlessly, drawing Sophia away from her seat under the pretense of cleaning her up with a towel.

The panic in her act was so convincing that even Emma almost believed it, nearly joining in to apologize.

Sophia Greenwood’s composure shattered completely when she couldn’t hold back her frustration and hissed at Ava Garcia, "Do you have any professionalism at all? You can’t even hold a tray steady. What are you still doing here?"

Normally, Sophia exuded an air of grace and sophistication, but her outburst drew the attention of many at the table.

While all eyes were on Sophia, Emma Hart quickly approached the table.

She used the tray of fruit wine that Ava had handed her to stealthily swap out the spiked drink Sophia had prepared. Then, she hurriedly made her escape.

Emma felt Damian Sterling’s gaze on her, or so she thought.

Was it just her nerves, or had he actually been watching her?

But as she moved away, she realized that Damian hadn’t been looking at her at all; he had been quietly speaking with someone next to him.

Relieved that she hadn’t been caught, Emma saw that her task was complete.

Ava, not wanting to linger, quickly wiped down Sophia’s spill and made an excuse to leave, busy with other tasks.

Left in the spotlight, Sophia found it difficult to unleash her anger fully.

Annoyed, she stamped her foot, catching Damian Sterling’s attention for the first time.

He looked at her with a cold gaze and simply said, "Stop making a scene. Just go change your clothes later."

His words calmed Sophia more effectively than a fire extinguisher, quelling her anger instantly.

Emma, hiding in a corner and watching them, felt a twinge of jealousy. She couldn’t help but curse under her breath, convinced of an affair between them.

Finally free, Ava sneaked up behind Emma, watching Damian and Sophia with a mischievous grin. "That wine was the most diluted fruit wine here. Don’t worry, that woman won’t get anywhere near your man," she chuckled.

Emma, still sour from watching the interaction between Damian and Sophia, frowned and retorted, "He’s not my man."

Ava looked at Emma, who was once again being petulant, and thought to herself, "Yes, yes, he’s not your man, he’s your husband!"

Sophia Greenwood was indeed preparing to toast to Damien Sterling at that moment.

Despite still being upset over the recent incident, she managed to suppress her emotions, sitting down with a sullen expression.

She lamented to Damien, "This was one of my favorite dresses, and it’s ruined now. I’m really not pleased. You owe me a drink for this."

Damien Sterling, faced with her somewhat unreasonable demand, didn’t say much.

He simply raised his glass to clink with Sophia’s before tilting his head back and downing the drink.

However, his expression turned peculiar after finishing his drink.

This odd reaction caught Sophia off guard, especially since she harbored a guilty conscience. She couldn’t help but ask cautiously, "Is there something wrong with the drink?"

Damien signaled a nearby waiter to pour him another drink, responding indifferently, "It’s nothing."

Sophia’s unease only grew, silently waiting for the drug to take effect so she could use Damien’s discomfort as a pretext to take him to her room.

Her plan was meticulous, not accounting for an unexpected assistant who would disrupt her perfect scheme.

Damien’s assistant hurried to his side, whispering something into his ear.

The change in Damien was instantaneous; his demeanor sharpened, and the previously gentle expression on his face turned stern. Rage blazed in his obsidian-like eyes.

Emma Hart, hiding in a corner and observing, felt a chill down her spine and swallowed hard.

As Damien abruptly stood up, Sophia, driven by panic, also rose and grabbed his arm, asking worriedly, "What’s happening? Did something go wrong?"

How could she let Damien walk away now? He had just ingested the drugged drink, and his leaving would utterly ruin her plans.

Noticing her grip, Damien cast a displeased glance at Sophia. His icy gaze bore into her as he commanded without mercy, "Let go."

Faced with such a cold stare, Sophia involuntarily released her hold, watching helplessly as Damien left the table.

"This is bad, Sophia. He’s not supposed to leave... Hurry, follow him!" Sophia’s friends, realizing the gravity of the situation, urged her to chase after Damien.

Finally snapping out of her shock from Damien’s unusual behavior, she hastened after him.

Meanwhile, Emma Hart, still concealed in her corner, watched the scene unfold with schadenfreude, thinking, "Go ahead, chase him.See if he can fuck you!"
