Overbearing CEO's Contract Love -
Chapter 11: His Plan
Chapter 11: His Plan
"I can’t possibly marry him, I hate him," Emma Hart stated emphatically, each word laden with the weight of her anger and unshed tears of injustice.
"If not for yourself, think about our family," came the reproachful response.
Emma bowed her head in silent contemplation, lost in thought for a long while before taking a deep breath and dialing a number. "Do you have some time to talk?"
She tried to steady her quivering voice as she gripped the phone, her knuckles turning white.
"Of course," was the prompt reply.
Across town, seated beside an imposing mahogany conference table, a well-dressed man’s eyes flickered with a hint of triumph. "Looks like the tide is turning, my little wildcat."
Damien Sterling, now in a casual shirt and silk pants, slid into his sleek, black Bugatti, racing through the streets like a stealthy panther.
Arriving at the bubble tea shop where Emma worked, he couldn’t help but frown – such modest places were alien to him. Yet, there she was, in her work uniform with a simple ponytail.
Though not breathtakingly beautiful, she radiated a natural charm.
Her pale skin was highlighted by the white shirt, though she looked frail and colorless in the oversized uniform, her collarbones starkly visible, as if a breeze could knock her over.
"Has your health not improved?" he blurted out, instantly regretting his words as his expression turned to one of cold detachment. He couldn’t fathom why he had said that.
"It’s none of your business!" Emma retorted, glaring at the man before her. His innate sense of nobility and refined features were completely out of place in this humble shop, only accentuating his arrogance in her eyes.
"Damien Sterling, don’t think bringing up my grandmother and brother will sway me. I’ve said it before – I hate you, and that’s final. No matter what you offer, I won’t marry you. We are mere strangers. Once this child is gone, there will be nothing left between us. Please, don’t make this any harder," she implored.
Damien found her stubbornness intriguing.
He had always relished challenges, the thrill of conquest particularly satisfying.
Watching the resolute girl before him, he tilted his head slightly, a charming smile playing on his lips.
Emma was momentarily transfixed by his smile, almost losing herself in it.
’What am I thinking?’ she chastised herself, quickly looking away as her cheeks flushed a soft red, reminiscent of a delicate camellia caressed by the evening sun.
Conquering women and expanding businesses were the ambitions of all men.
At this moment, Damien Sterling, with an aura of commanding intensity, focused on the defiant girl before him.
Even Emma, intimidated yet unyielding, fell silent, her lips tightly pressed together.
Damien’s gaze lingered on her, his deep, mysterious eyes harboring an unfolding plan...
Outside the clinic, the sign reading "Painless Abortion" weighed heavily on Emma’s heart.
She covertly watched the passersby, silently praying that no one she knew would see her, dreading the consequences...
