Chapter 796 - 789: Clean Sweep in the Shop

Chapter 796: Chapter 789: Clean Sweep in the Shop

In gunfights, the majority of casualties are caused by bullets hitting vital organs, leading to major internal bleeding, and so, not much blood actually spills outside the body.

Although Feng relied on Magic Formulas to inflict damage, she rarely used stabbing or thrusting methods. Instead, she preferred to hack and slash widely, killing her enemies by inflicting large wounds that made them bleed to death.

With just two slashes, Feng had killed two people in less than five seconds. The smell of blood permeated the corridor, and splatters of blood sprayed all over the place.

As the instigator, Feng was completely indifferent to this. Her expression remained calm and collected, her long knife hanging low, ready for the next attack.

Compared to traditional swordsmen, Feng possessed a unique ability, which is the sensory ability that he had bragged about countless times. It was a remarkable ability allowing Feng to easily grasp the battlefield situation, like having a cheat for an x-ray vision.

Luoer recalled their time in the infected zone when a prophet also esteemed this ability. This prophet was a purebred Aud, suggesting that this ability seemed irrelevant to their constitution but could be achieved through later cultivation.

Compared to the prophet, Feng’s perception was somewhat inferior but sufficient. After gaining such sensory ability, the prophet willingly blinded himself. Luoer didn’t wish the same for Feng; after all, her deep eyes were truly mesmerizing.

Feng calmly led the way, with Luoer and siblings Eve and Jora closely following behind her. Eve was witnessing such a bloody scene for the first time, her face terribly pale. One hand tightly covered Jora’s eyes, preventing him from seeing this horrifying scene.

Having spent a night together, she felt as if she had just met this seemingly frail girl.

Her first impression of Feng was reserved and shy. When Luoer went out, she hid in a corner alone, remaining silent and ignoring their friendly greetings.

Whether it was her gaze or her expression, both seemed cold and lifeless. Only when Luoer was present, one could barely perceive an emotional ripple on her poker face.

Who could’ve imagined that this harmless-looking, introverted, and shy girl would transform into a relentless killer? Her knife was so cold. It didn’t show any due regard for life, as if, in her eyes, people were not humans but merely obstacles in her way.

With augmented sensitivity, Feng could perceive movements around her. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, made a knife flower with her sword, and forcibly stabbed it into the wooden floor. The moment the blade entered the floor, a ghastly scream echoed from downstairs.

However, she ignored the scream. After hearing it, she drew out her long knife, held the hilt properly, the blade hanging low, and continued to walk forward.

Luoer held his gun and closely followed behind Feng, not feeling excessively tense. With Feng around, he didn’t worry about possible ambushes by the enemy, because Feng’s sensory ability could detect them all and then kill them.

Even without Feng, there was Fulajie’er, his trump card reconnaissance force. The only difference was that Fulajie’er didn’t possess offensive power, and Luoer didn’t intend to taint her hands with blood. However, if only Fulajie’er were present, Luoer might need to handle the enemies himself.

From the beginning until now, the enemy hadn’t fired a single shot, yet they had lost several personnel. Luoer felt pretty satisfied with this outcome because he wanted to reduce noise as much as possible to prevent secular troops from getting involved.

Walking on the sticky blood, Feng leisurely descended the stairs. By now, it seemed like the inn had nearly been cleared out, and it was eerily quiet. Luoer could even hear the sticky sound of shoes stepping on blood stains.

This kind of silence made Luoer somewhat anxious. It always felt like the calm before a storm. However, since Feng showed no reaction, there was no need for him to worry too much.

The group arrived on the first floor, where they couldn’t see a single person. However, not being able to see didn’t mean there were no people. Feng once again swung her blade, the harbinger of death, and made an upward diagonal slash with the long knife in her hand.

A tearing sound echoed through the quiet shop, as if something juicy and full had been suddenly ripped apart. Immediately followed by grunts, several men hiding in the shadows with weapons in hand helplessly fell down from their hiding spots.

A deep bloody wound spanned from their chests to their chins, and blood was gushing out from it. The reason they could only grunt was because their throats had been slit open.

Watching these men in agony, even the experienced Luoer couldn’t help but look away. Although these men were armed with firearms from Earth, they were not a match for the cheat-activated Feng.

Feng’s addition had exponentially increased the strength of the Advance Team. If Feng was a level 100 boss, then what they were currently experiencing was probably only a level 20 or 30 sub-instance. Basically, these men were being one-sidedly beaten by Feng.

Just as Luoer was shocked, he suddenly heard a mournful sound from the still silent shop. One man, who had slipped through the net, jumped out of his hiding place in terror, his trembling handgun aiming at Feng not far away.

"Watch out!" Luoer cried out, readying his gun to shoot, but obviously, his reaction was half a beat slower than Feng’s.

As the man raised his handgun, Feng lifted her long sword and twisted it around, then followed by a swift strike. Not too far off, the man was like a fish split vertically in two, cut in half by a single stroke, both sides of his body falling limply to the ground.

Seeing this, Eve’s face turned pale, and she started retching uncontrollably. Even Luoer felt a wave of nausea upon seeing the gruesome sight, barely holding back from vomiting.

However, Feng remained calm. She withdrew her posture, her long sword still held low against the ground, quietly awaiting Luoer’s next instruction.

"Fula, check the rear, we’ll go out the back door, avoid the crowd in the street." Luoer, forcing back the urge to vomit, said to Fulajie’er with a pale face.

"Got... Got it..." Even Fulajie’er, who was just a spirit, was shaken by Feng’s aura, stuttering as she spoke.

Not long after, Fulajie’er returned with a report: there was a backyard in the inn, leading to a deserted alleyway. Luoer took a deep breath and said to Feng, "Feng... Forget it, you hold the rear. Fula and I will lead the way, and Little Ke will protect them."

The more Luoer thought about it, the more he felt it was better not to let Feng take the lead anymore. She was too brutal, fighting without restraint or mercy. It might be okay in such a confined space, but if they were outside, her attacks could easily draw attention.

Whether it was due to Feng’s intimidating presence, or the fact that every incoming enemy had already been eliminated by her, from the shop to the backyard alley, they barely saw any enemies, or even ordinary passersby, along the way.

With Fulajie’er present, Luoer wasn’t worried about falling into a trap or an ambush. Although she didn’t have the sensory abilities of Feng, she was, after all, somewhat skilled as a reconnaissance soldier. She was quite adept at scouting enemy situations.

Following the grungy and narrow alley, Luoer and his team avoided the eyes of both enemies and pedestrians, heading towards the slums. The weapons in their hands were wrapped in cloth, exposing only a small part, a method used to avoid attracting the attention of the patrolling police. In Holy Heart City, it was stipulated that weapons must be wrapped and concealed when entering the city.

This was a rule in the Eastern District, the Western District and Uptown District did not have this rule. If there wasn’t a specific need, nobody could carry weapons in those areas. Of course, the people of the Church Court were not within this regulation. This was why Luoer’s group could freely traverse between the academy and the Eastern District.

When they stepped out of the alley and onto the wide street, Luoer immediately commanded everyone to put away their weapons to prevent unnecessary trouble. The power of Feng was no longer as strong as before on this open terrain.

No matter how powerful her magic formulas were, they didn’t have the range of firearms. If those men had just ambushed them here, firing at them from all directions, Feng would probably only manage to protect herself but wouldn’t have the chance to counterattack.
