Chapter 784: Chapter 777: Trouble Is Coming

"What’s happening?" Luoer immediately asked with alertness.

"There are people coming this direction, a lot of people. And it seems they’re all armed," Fulajie’er said with concern.

"A lot of people, armed..." Luoer muttered under his breath, irresistibly asking, "Are they coming for us?"

"I’m don’t know, but in any case, we should get going quickly." Fulajie’er suggested.

"Alright, continue monitoring. And tell Little Ke to be careful." Luoer commanded, nodding his head.

After instructing Fulajie’er, Lalor began to ponder the situation in front of him - naturally his thoughts turned to what this girl had just said.

Luoer looked at the girl, who was now snuggling with her little brother, their big eyes wide in confusion as they watched Luoer’s actions. She did not hear Fulajie’er’s voice, and so was greatly puzzled by Luoer’s muttering to himself.

"Someone’s come to your door, is it you they’re targetting?" Luoer ventured.

Hearing his words, the girl’s face instantly changed, and she struggled to get up, ready to take her brother and leave the room.

"Wait, what’s the hurry?" As the two passed him, Luoer reached out and grabbed the girl’s arm, and then looked at her as he spoke.

"If they find us, they will definitely kill us." The girl turned her head back to reply, struggling all the while.

"Why do they want to kill you?" Luoer couldn’t help but ask again.

"How would I know!" Perhaps due to Luoer’s obstruction, the girl’s temper flared once more.

"Where are you going?" Luoer didn’t let go, but rather continued to ask.

"Of course to escape." The girl replied angrily.

"You’re injured in the leg, how far can you run?" Luoer asked, looking at the wound on her foot.

"At least running gives us some hope. If they surround us here, escape will be impossible." Perhaps because the pulling had aggravated her wound, the girl suddenly started convulsing - cold sweat started to flow immediately.

"Alright, you two, stay here quietly. Don’t make any sound or any movement. Leave the rest to us." Luoer pulls her back and instructs.

"You’re willing to help me?" The girl asked full of joy.

"I’m merely curious why the Booze Ghost Gang is suddenly interested in two half-elves." Luoer replied casually.

As it stands, the Booze Ghost Gang and the Hound Gang are at loggerheads, yet the Booze Ghost Gang is insistent on targeting these siblings. This must mean there’s a hidden story. Coincidentally, Luoer also wanted to understand the recent happenings of these two gangs through the Booze Ghost Gang. Since they’ve actively sought him out, naturally, he would not stand on ceremony.

"Will you protect us?" The girl asked, somewhat incredulously.

"We’ll see how it goes. Anyway, it just happens to be on the way." Luoer shrugged, casually replying.

"Thank you!" Upon hearing Luoer’s words, the girl gave heartfelt thanks.

"Don’t just run off aimlessly. After I’ve dealt with them, I still have something to ask you two." Luoer said.

"Yes, yes, I understand!" The girl replied gratefully.

"Speaking of which, I still don’t know your names. You two don’t happen to not have names, right?" Luoer asked.

He chose this word because the last time he encountered that Snow Elven half-blood Truth, she did not have a name of her own. The name Truth was given to her by Luoer.

"My name is Eve, and this is my little brother Jora." Grateful for Luoer’s help, the girl’s attitude became more sincere.

"Very well, Eve and Jora. You two stay in here, do not move and do not make any noise. I will go out and deal with those people." Luoer said as he turned around and left the shanty without looking back.

Walking out of the shanty, Luoer didn’t look back and ordered Feng who also came out: "Feng, you cover the rear and attack on my command."

"Got it!" Feng nodded, and quickly walked past Luoer.

"Boss." Seeing Luoer coming out of the shanty, Hu Daoke immediately greeted him. He looked somewhat tense, his right hand tucked into his clothes, grasping the handgun beneath his rib.

"Attach the silencer, let’s ambush them here. We catch one alive and see what the Booze Ghost Gang is up to!" Luoer instructed.

"No problem!" Hu Daoke nodded, then drew his gun while also pulling out the Magic Silencer and attached it to the gun muzzle.

The pistol equipped with Magic Silencer didn’t need to use special subsonic bullets. Regular bullets were enough to muffle the noise.

Their guns used traditional 9mm Parabellum pistol ammunition. There wasn’t much innovation in the caliber; it followed the standard, but the advantage was easy resupply.

After attaching the silencer, the two hid in the garbage piles and corners near the shanty, quietly waiting for the enemy to arrive.

Luoer had Fulajie’er constantly perform reconnaissance and report back. According to her descriptions, there were about ten people, most of them armed. Without setting up an ambush, they could not withstand the attack with just their force.

Of course, Feng, being their trump card was another story, but if they let Feng attack those people, they probably wouldn’t have any prisoners alive. Luoer had her cover the rear in hopes of getting a live prisoner for questioning.

Soon, rapid footsteps could be heard from the entrance of the alley. Luoer observed from his position and saw what Fulajie’er had described - there were about ten people.

Looking at them, there wasn’t any valuable information. They were all common aud people, dressed plainly and simply. Perhaps due to constant smoking and drinking, the leader had a large rhinophyma that was noticeable within the crowd.

Most surprising to Luoer were the weapons in their hands. They were all M3 Grease Guns. This was a .45 caliber submachine gun developed by the United States at the end of World War II. Its biggest feature was its low cost.

Though the Otherworld’s population despised submachine guns, they have to admit that these weapons are more suitable for urban street fights than rifles. However, the earthlings would obviously not sell modern automatic carbines to the Otherworld’s inhabitants.

Although the United Nations set guidelines to regulate weapon exports, they left many loopholes for their own interests.

On paper, submachine guns, with their high rate of fire, could only be sold with the official order from the Otherworld. But in reality, that wasn’t the case.

As long as there’s civilian demand in the Otherworld, getting a submachine gun is relatively easy. The weapon holds an awkward position in the Otherworld’s war environment; there’s no such thing as a stream of iron and blood, and their most advanced tactics are barely at the level of Earth’s World War One. To them, submachine guns are like a useless rib.

Capitalism goes where the profit is, so it’s only normal that submachine guns are sold illegally to civilians - a weapon the military has no interest in, but is in demand by civilians.

Luoer estimated that the arrival of a fully equipped submachine gun team couldn’t be just an ordinary group. If they launched a frontal attack, these people have enough ammunition to keep them pinned down.

It was clear that the arrivals were financially strong to use submachine guns on a large scale. It’s a fact in the Otherworld that not only do they despise submachine guns due to their awkward positioning, they also believe that suppressing enemies with a spray of bullets is a wasteful behavior. They prefer the primitive shooting method of one shot, one kill.

In street battles, submachine guns are undeniably powerful tools. Luoer knew that if they could not quickly eliminate most of them, they would be helpless against these people relying only on their weapons.

Indeed, they have Feng as their fallback, but Luoer’s original idea was to capture someone for questioning. If Feng takes action, these people would not be enough to fill her teeth.

Although Feng only holds a dagger, she only needs to wield her weapon as a reference for Magic Formulas, so it doesn’t really matter what weapon she uses.

They can’t rely on Feng, so they have to rely on themselves. Anyway, with Feng as a fallback, Luoer thought it would be best to take a gamble. They just need to deal with most of the enemies, and leave one alive for questioning.
